We loved staying at the Maison de la Luz in New Orleans. The location is perfect for exploring all different areas of the city, with easy walking distance to the French Quarter and Frenchman's Street, as well as a longer but still very doable walk to Magazine Street and the Lower Garden District. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The decor is really unique and luxurious, from the lobby area to the rooms. Small touches really make it feel like 5 stars, from the twice-daily turn down service, wine and cheese hour, to the special speakeasy entrance to the very trendy hotel bar for guests. We will definitely be back!

Maison de la Luz was absolutely fabulous with the friendliest staff that made you feel like you were visiting old friends. The rooms are large and very comfortable and the bathrooms are beautifully appointed with large showers and soaking tubs. We were in 59 with city views and bright sunny days. And coffee delivered to your room each morning as we showered was a very touch to start our days. Especially after nights out in New Orleans! Most highly recommended and thanks to the amazing staff (Giovanni, Sarah, Thomas, Lawrence) that made us feel so welcome. We hope to see you soon!

Just returned from a New Orleans getaway and was absolutely blown away by Maison de la Luz. The property was beautiful, the decor and furniture were funky and fun, and the entire experience was absolutely top notch. The city was still recovering from Hurricane Ida during our trip, but aside from a few room service menu changes you would never have guessed that anything was amiss based on our experience at the hotel. I would recommend this hotel for an adults trip - either couples, friends, or business - and make sure not to miss out on a visit to Bar Marilou. Highly recommend, and can't wait for our next stay.

I spent three nights at the Maison de la Luz. The hotel is beautiful, well located with lovely rooms. The front desk staff were all very nice and appeared at first to be attentive. I asked for a quiet room, and they were kind enough to give me one on the top floor. It was nice and quiet. Everything was great for the first two nights, but from the morning of the third day onwards, I was never able to get hot water in the room. The sink would never get warm while the shower was at best lukewarm to cold. Before this problem, the water had been quite hot in the room. I asked for assistance at the Front desk. They suggested letting the water run for some time. The clerk told me hot water sometimes takes time due to the location of my room. After returning to my room, I let it run for 30 minutes without change and then took a miserable shower. I asked for help again, and they said they would send an engineer to look at it. I never heard anything again and never had hot water again. The following day I let the water run in the shower for 30 minutes, and it still refused to warm up. I tried the sink, and it also didn't work, so I took another unpleasant shower. I complained again when I checked out, and a different desk clerk gave me the identical story that I had to "let it run awhile." For $350 a night, one would expect to be able to take a warm shower. I would also expect them to address a complaint.

The Maison de la Luz is the best hotel I have ever stayed at, period. My partner and I booked a standard "King" room for a short 3-day trip to celebrate his birthday. I called in advance to ask them to put some champagne in the room, which they were happy to do. Hearing that we were "celebrating", the concierge upgraded us to the suite, which was truly a remarkable experience. They set the tone perfectly to begin our stay. I'll start with the room - the room itself was perfectly decorated with thoughtful touches throughout. The shower and tub were pristine and the water pressure was great. The bed was very comfortable and it was great to have the extra space with a table and couch. The room itself was extremely quiet and peaceful and smelled wonderful the entire stay - honestly not even sure how they did that. As for the service, everyone we spoke to and interacted with was so accommodating and friendly. Special shout out to Thomas and Gigi who always greeted us with a smiling face and worked overtime to make our stay comfortable and up to their standards. We had breakfast in the breakfast room (honestly so delicious) and also took advantage of the bar, which had a great vibe and very good drinks. A few final things. The location was excellent - not in the French Quarter (thank god...) but an easy walk. Easy walk to other key areas of the city and plenty of nice restaurants nearby. Street parking was super easy... may not want to bank on it, but we were street parked the entire time across the street from the hotel and didn't get a ticket. The gym and pool are in the Ace hotel next door. We didn't love the vibe of the pool, but the gym was perfect for what we needed. Again, the Maison de la Luz was so nice, we didn't even feel the need to hang by the pool. Overall, I really can't recommend this hotel enough. If you are trying to decide whether to splurge a bit and stay here over somewhere else... do it!
