Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.

Nice clean room. Reminded us of an IKEA showroom. Security & front desk employees were very very nice. Our visit was Monday, April 15, 2019 to Thursday, April 18, 2019. It was a short visit but will return ASAP.

This is the first time that I’ve stayed at this hotel. I was a bit skeptical at first but I was pleased with this throw back of a hotel. It’s a little ways away from the French Quarter but I took a Lyft back and forth. Which was anywhere from $8-$11 and that’s including tip.

Uber has a tool on their site that you can use, but it shouldn't be more than $15-45 depending on the car you choose. Lots more info about getting around New Orleans on the News section of our website.

How close to the Quarter?
Hi Scott, our Alder Hotel is central to important Uptown New Orleans locations, adjoining Ochsner Baptist hospital, the Napoleon Ave. medical corridor, lively Freret Street, and Tulane/Loyola/Xavier Universities. Many of our guests love taking advantage of our free parking—a rare amenity in New Orleans, allowing our guests to have easy access to their cars and all of the city’s popular attractions: the Garden District, Arts District, French Quarter, Superdome—all an under 10-15-minutes drive from our hotel.
