We go to NOLA often, and I've stayed here several times and written several reviews. If you're in NOLA to party, this is not your place. There's no bar or restaurant in the hotel and it's not in the French Quarter. Advantages of the Alder are: it's reasonably priced with FREE parking across the street*. It's clean, quiet, safe. The hotel is surrounded by a huge medical facility, so there are people and security outside 24/7. The hotel's location within the city is good. You can walk about a block to Freret Street for some nice restaurants. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Coffee in lobby 24/7 (only a bag breakfast during pandemic). There is a frig, microwave and Kuerig machine in room. Rooms are comfortable and clean with nice beds and linens. Wi-fi is free and fast. There is a small laundromat on top floor for guests' use. +You'll spend $50/day for parking in the French Quarter and Central Business District. I'd rather spend that money at some of New Orleans' famed restaurants.

Clean and fresh, every detail taken care of. Reception was friendly and professional, especially desk clerk Amy, breakfast was good. Free parking in a secure and convenient location was a big plus. Will definitely stay here again every time we have the chance.

The people in the hotel were welcoming, personable, helpful and available. That is why a gave it a high mark for my stay. However, the location is not convenient to much that is quintessential New Orleans. We were cautioned about going two blocks from the hotel at night because of an increase in crime in the area. Plus, the "balcony" looks out over a medical center and was sparse and not inviting at all. It got the job done however, I would not return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in New Orleans and the Alder Hotel was the perfect choice for our family stay. It was within walking distance to many good restaurants and very convenient to every venue we needed to get to. The front desk staff were VERY friendly and accommodating. Any time we had a question or needed something, someone was eager to help. I can't emphasize the friendliness of everyone. It was noticeably different from most other hotel stays. The room was clean and the extra counter/sink came in handy when 3 of us were getting ready. The lobby was very clean and smelled great. The PJ's coffee in the lobby was available 24/7, which is a bonus. Secure, off street parking was included, which for NOLA, is a big perk! Overall, a great experience. The owners should feel very proud of their staff

We stayed here during our Tulane Campus Visit. This hotel far exceeded my expectations! The hotel is about a mile from the campus. Plus there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance on Freret St. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in New Orleans.
