If you want to stay in the French Quarter but not be on one of the extremely busy streets this is the place for you. We were 2 short blocks to Bourbon Street, but didn't have the backed up traffic. Everything was within walking distance. Jackson Square, the shops along the River. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are...

The people who work at the W know what they are doing. The property is old New Orleans blended with the "W" modernism that I love. From stepping out of the cab - Make sure you ask for the W in the French Quarter because there is another "W' near Harrah's Casino and other Westin Properties...this is the one you...

My fiancé and I booked 5 nights at the W French Quarter in February through SPG. When looking at the website recently, I saw a promotion featured that would offer a $50 for 2 nights, and $100 for 4. I emailed and called the W, and spoke to SPG has well and was told that offer wasn't valid for the...

Centric location in the French Quarter. Staff not too helpful. They put us in a handicap accessible room and we had to stay in room until another one became available. Not impressed overall. Restaurant is pretty dead for a W.

This hotel banks on its name and location but falls far short on service. I have just spent a weekend at this property. I was without wifi for 24 hours. There was also a 2 hour period when the television was not working. The first evening, I arrived back at my room at midnight to go to bed. When I...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
