Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

I just finished my 20th stay in less than one year at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans. This is, without a doubt, the best hotel in the city. Here's why. 1. Staff- I know the names of over 25 people who work there, and I have since probably my third month. It's simply because they

We stayed here twice in 2 months. We upgraded to club level. It varies, one time it was 100/day, the other 150. Drinks in the courtyard are 20.00 each, so with the food and drinks free on club level, it works out the cheaper way to go. Also parking was included the last stay, so

Went there during the Jazz Fest. Booked in advance and the average rate was US$270/night. Even though Ritz NOLA is a bit old, I wouldn't ask for more at this rate. Rena helped me with the check in and it was smooth and fun. Rena also reminded me to try out some gumbo between 4

At the Ritz, and at $400 a night, I expect spectacular. This property needs an upgrade. Even the courtyard and library which could be stunning are quite sad. Rooms are big, but the furniture, decors, everything felt run down. The gym is in the basement with zero natural light.

Dear marylouc388, Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to learn our Ladies and Gentlemen left a wonderful impression on you. They work diligently to provide our guests with exceptional and thoughtful service at all times. However, we understand expecting more than your average hotel stay when you choose us, and we were disappointed to learn we did not meet your expectations this time. We agree that some areas of our hotel are beginning to show their age, so we are in the process of beginning a redeux of many of our guest suites and common areas. We believe this redeux will bring us up to the modern and luxurious aesthetic our guests have come to expect from us. We thank you again for taking the time to review your stay. We hope you will allow us to host you again soon for a better overall experience. Jim Oliver General Manager
