BUSINESS TRAVELERS SKIP THIS HOTEL - Checkin experience was awful as they stated I canceled but reservation, which was not true as I had confirmation emails, and after going through two managers and a phone call, it turns out Marriot Bonvoy did a system upgrade which canceled my reservation. - Mind you this reservation is booked through my organization’s corporate travel agency, which also has a listing of our preferences when staying. I have listed high floor away from elevator. - After experiencing ordeal of repeatedly being told I canceled my reservation and then them flipping to apologize and retrieve it, they booked me on the floor right above the reception desk with a room across from the elevator. - I’ve worked on the customer service end and I know what it was like to deal with customers, so please know I was compassionate throughout this experience but then to get a crappy room location, with an AC machine unit out my window is just throwing salt on to an already stressful situation. - Upon check out they had valet charges on my account even though my reservation included valet. Again more apologies but it caused me to not do remote check in while I was in a rush to the airport. - If you’re looking for a stress free hotel with impeccable service to stay during your corporate travel, it is NOT the The Ritz Carlton, New Orleans. I’d encourage business travelers to book elsewhere.

Room Tip: Not worth the stress. Find another hotel. Five stars on apologizing, one star on delivery.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed here last week and I left a book (and apparently, a shirt too) in our room after check-out. I called the hotel a few days after to see if they found it and if there was a way that they could ship it to my address. They did so very expeditiously. Thank you, Ritz, for the top-notch quality service!

A quick work trip with family tagging along was quite memorable. The entire staff from Tim at the front desk, Franshesca in the dining room & Thea in restaurant leadership. They were all ladies & gentlemen treating guests as ladies & gentlemen. We so loved the thoughtfulness, hospitality & truly happy to serve you. Thank you & see you all soon !

I recently stayed at the Ritz Carlton and was surprised it wasn’t like the others I have stayed at. The rooms look dated and are in need of an update. The toiletries in the bathroom could have been toiletries at any other lower star hotel and the rooms didn’t even have coffee. The service was great and the rooms were clean however the hotel appearance and amenities are lacking.

This property has kept its high standards throughout the lockdown. From the entrance to check out, the property and staff are 5 Star ***** I am sad to report that New Orleans has not fared as well. The homeless are in several place on Canal Street that just is unacceptable as a business.family travel spot. l don't understand why city leadership allows such poor enforcement of safe healthy standards. Find a way to help these people and make New Orleans great again.

Our room in this renovated turn-of-the-century building was beautifully decorated (including marble bathroom), quiet, very comfortable and comforting. Easy walking distance to everything in the French Quarter and so many great restaurants. It was a great choice when we only had a few days in New Orleans.

I was at the Ritz Carlton for two conferences back to back. The staff at this hotel was amazing. I highly recommend this facility, not only for a conference but to stay. From the valet crew, to the hotel staff to the catering/sales staff. The sales and catering staff should be given 10 stars. I briefly met the General Manager, Jim, as I was paying for my valet. He was working in valet! How cool to see the GM working directly in the trenches. I was able to obtain the names of the sales/catering staff whom should be recognized in my opinion if you can get this back to the hotel. GEO - amazing with all areas of food/beverage! He was also a really nice guy! Allison Hayden, Volker, Annie Jones, Mecell/Missy, and Taylor. All of these individuals were outstanding. I plan to have my organization plan some events at this facility. Being that I was there for two weeks straight, they learned my name and always were very accomodating.

Having stayed at various RC hotels over the years, we picked this for a much anticipated trip to NOLA. Location is great, overlooking Canal Street (with a streetcar stop almost immediately outside the entrance) and right on the edge of The French Quarter. Booked through American Express so breakfast, free wifi and late checkout were guaranteed (as was room upgrades if available but dream on!) Check in was efficient but not very friendly. The room was clean and there was a nice surprise of sparkling wine, macaroons and chocolate dipped strawberries for us! Housekeeping were good with in-room tea and coffee and toiletries replenished daily. Breakfasts were great. A special Thank You to Janet who is the best omelette chef I've ever met. We looked forward to seeing her everyday and often had eggs even when we didn't feel like it just to be able to chat to her! Also Oreathe our server who knew just when to refill the coffee. The gym was good with separate weights and cardio rooms but PLEASE turn the a/c up. It was always so hot in the weights room! The usual coffee/newspaper station in the lobby was also very welcome for a post-workout, pre-breakfast beverage. Checkout was efficient, if not very friendly again. If we return, we'd probably try the new Four Seasons at the bottom end of Canal Street but return for at least one breakfast if Janet is still there!

Room 2014......5/5 rating......The Ritz maintained the expected -expectation of service from check-in....to room quality....and friendliness. Even though the reception lobby is on the 3rd floor....it added another layer if security. Cheerfulness of staff on all levels. Room was spacious and quality of bathroom from space to amenities was up to and exceeded par. Too bad they cannot change the neighborhood when you exit on to the street. Ritz has no control over the deterioration of Canal St., that has gone downhill over the years. Doormen who warned to "be safe" .......no bad encounters over looking the homeless on the sidewalks 2 blocks away....the ever present wiff of the use of weed...it isn't ideal....but have a cold one and listen to great cover bands.
