I had high hopes for this property. It is well located and looks lovely on the outside and in common areas. Our room, however, was in poor shape. The room was small, but that is not unusual in older hotels in New Orleans (we come...More
Second time around. Lovely staff and they want to be helpful. The property is located well but is older and showing its age. Peeling and damaged walls, tubs and carpets. Lights out, thin sheets and towels, etc. I really want to be nicer. Spend a...More
The Historic Streetcar Inn is by far the bomb Diggity. This was our first time ever to New Orleans and we hit a home run by choosing to stay here. From the start the staff was superior and our host, Glinda, was great. She had...More

Yes, very safe. I travel alone and I have never felt uneasy I've stayed here on three of my trips to NOLA. The streetcar stop is right out the front door. There are nice restaurants within walking distance. The Blind Pelican is 1 1/2 blocks away. Great local place with a fantastic oyster happy hour. VooDoo BBQ is next store. The Irish House is across the street. You are just one block from Prytania Street and a few blocks from Magazine Street. It's easy to enjoy the Garden District. As in any large city, be aware of you surroundings. Stay and enjoy.
