Our hostess Karen was DA-BOMB! She made us feel right at home. Friendly and professional, she recommended great restaurants in the area and filled us in on a lot of the cultural details that we otherwise would not have known, as this was our first experience in NOLA. The accommodations themselves were great, very comfortable room and breakfast/snacks were excellent. We rented a car for our trip, but most of the time we walked everywhere in the French Quarter. The only time we drove was when we visited the WWII museum. The location of the R&B was excellent, only a block or so from many of the jazz clubs, but even on a busy Sat night our street was pretty quiet. Thanks for making our stay a memorable one!
Lovely historic home with very helpful and friendly owner and staff. Rooms are not large, but we were still very comfortable. Being within minutes of numerous jazz bars was a plus too. Also easy to walk to French Quarter.
This was an amazing place to stay and Karen is a wonderful host. It is very convenient to all sites. Snacks and breakfast were plentiful. If you love jazz music, it is the perfect choice. We would definitely stay here again.
The rooms were lovely. The blue room water pressure was terrible. Miss Judy and Karen were great. They knew their way around and started you in the right direction. The location to Frenchmen’s street is excellent. They have a nice patio, but it could use some work. Breakfast was great, but only the first day. Lox and bagels and fruit, yogurt, chicory coffee and other coffee flavors. Other days we were not served, it was help yourself to Costco baked goods and hard-boiled eggs.
This place was really amazing for our long Easter weekend in New Orleans. Karen is a fantastic host who is a perfect fit for the hospitality industry. Miss Judy helps with breakfast and other jobs around the property, and she is a hoot. Tons of sass, and she's a great resource for answering any questions about the city. The property was built in 1870 and is very unique and beautiful. We stayed in the Mardi Gras room, which I'd highly recommend. The location is perfect. It's on Frenchmen Street near tons of awesome music clubs and restaurants, and the owners of the B&B also own some of the nearby clubs so you get a few free drinks. This was our third trip to NOLA, and this was by far our favorite place that we've stayed. We will definitely be staying here when we come back! -Paul and Stephanie Daly…
There are many reasons R&B is rated so high. From the welcome at the red front door, the beautiful and spacious parlor to Judy’s delicious breakfast. There are snacks and coffee available 24 hours. The room was thoughtfully furnished and so quiet. Frenchmen Street was alive with so much live music and friendly characters only steps from your front door. But we never heard a sound from inside our haven. Judy. What can I say. She treats you like a favorite aunt. She hasn’t got time for nonsense. She wants you fed, safe and armed with all the knowledge you need to have a BLAST on Frenchmen. Two days after we checked out, Judy recognized us on the street and greeted us with a big hug! Priceless. You will not regret staying here. Absolutely the best location and hospitality in town.…
The absolute best in the French quarter of New Orleans, Location and it should be rated hire on walking to nearby facilities. Emily is an absolute star. If she offers you a quick walk in reference to the area take it! You won’t be disappointed with the property.
Unique, wonderful ambiance, location, and comfort. We spent 4 nights with Emily and Judy. Judy provided an outstanding breakfast and took care of all the details, helping us to plan and navigate our daily New Orleans adventures. Excellent location, rooms were super clean and comfortable. Brand new shower curtain in Reggae Room! Highly recommend.
Our main host was very nice and made us feel welcome and invited to use the kitchen whenever we please. However the woman running the breakfast was very rude. Initially seemed like she was trying to be helpful but came off very aggressive and basically kicked us out of the kitchen as at the time breakfast had ended. The next day I came down to breakfast and she immediately asked when I’d be leaving. No hello or good morning. Stay was fine otherwise but I’d go out of my way to avoid this person.
Amazing location, beautiful home, exceptional hospitality. I can’t say enough about how amazing our stay was. Walking distance to French quarter and clubs. Bus lines just steps away for further afield. Lovely home with period pieces and eclectic art makes the home visually stunning. We were welcomed like family. Highly recommend.
