This bed and breakfast was an absolute gem and I'm so glad that I found it. We visited New Orleans for Halloween so you can imagine it was slightly crazy but this was the perfect place to recuperate in. The house itself is amazing, the rooms are so spacious and the decor is lovely. The bed was so comfy as...

This little piece of heaven tucked away is such a delight. Peter and Ruby are a lovely couple who will make you feel right at home. My husband and I had never been to New Orleans and didn't know a thing about the area but thanks to Peter, we became very familiar with the foods and sights. Their beautiful B&B...

Ruby and Peter run a great home. I couldn't book a hotel at the riverfront so I opted for Rose Manor and I'll return every year. Extremely quiet room. Roomy. Very clean. Delicious breakfast and snacks. A great way to start each day before heading out. Only 15 or 20 minutes by Uber to all the action. Just do it....

Ruby and Peter are the best hosts you could ask for. It's like a home away from home. It was our second stay and this one was as good as the last. They have lots of helpful tips about the city. It's a nice cozy place to sleep with a great breakfast. We will never stay anywhere else when we...

Just got home from a 4 day stay at Rose Manor. Peter & Ruby, our hosts, were delightful! So welcoming & helpful. We ate at 2 restaurants they recommended & attended 2 events they told us about, & they were all fantastic! The room was spacious & comfortable. The inn is fairly humble looking from the outside, but the inside...

Have stayed here before with high school sailing team. It's close to Southern Yacht Club and Lake Pontchartrain. Owners are the best! This time it was just my husband and me. We parked the car, then it was city bus and street cars (one uber) for the rest of the weekend. Went to Tulane/Navy football game and only spent $12...

Found this quaint bed and breakfast in Lake View area right in the heart of New Orleans ,but far enough from the hustle and bustle to relax, breath and have our down time..... We went as a group of 8 friends, and it was perfect for us, the parlors and living rooms were just like being at home when we...

We were made very welcome and Ruby and Peter did everything they could to make sure that we were comfortable. Before we stayed I'd emailed them and explained that I have a spinal issue and they couldn't have been any more helpful. We stayed in the Rose room and the bed was really comfortable, so it didn't add pain and...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Rose Manor for 5 days during our trip to New Orleans. The hosts; Ruby and Peter; were spectacular and knowledgeable. They provided us with different recommendations of things to do around the city. Peter has been in New Orleans for 30 years and he has so much knowledge of the city. A simple,...

I love this place. The house is a gorgeously decorated home with comfortable, and generous rooms. The lovely folks running the joint are friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Try their waffles for breakfast! And speaking of food, the resturant next door called Ming's has the best food. I had a great time in New...

Staying in Lakeview

Neighborhood Profile
Lakeview
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
