My wife and I planned a romantic weekend in New Orleans for Jazzfest. We checked into a Premium King Room on the 4th floor adjacent to the pool. I left to run an errand and my wife decided to take a nap. When she woke up, she walked out to the pool area. What she found was a sliding glass...

Hi Irving - I agree that two double beds certainly doesn't sound very romantic. I apologize that, through no fault of your own, the lock issue in your 1st room resulted in your essentially being downgraded. I am looping in our Directors of Engineering and Front Office so they're aware of the situation. Admittedly we should not have checked you...

Room 1228 >>Right next to service elevators...so VERY loud..like sleeping in a train station. >>Filthy dirty air filters that haven't been changed in a long time (see pict) >>Non-smoking room smelled of smoke >>My assistant was in Rm 1229 and the elevator noise was still bothersome >>I shared by troubles with James at the front desk. and he thanked me....

The positive aspect first - the front desk is HELPFULNESS in capital letters. The negative - the elevator noise. My room was 4 rooms away from the elevators and 2 floors below the terrace, despite which I could constantly hear the elevators. At night it was very disturbing. Definitely one hotel were the top floor is not the best place...

Ask for a room on a higher floor; it took me three tries at check in, but they finally listened. I enjoyed the easy access to many restaurants within walking distance. Rooms were always clean & safe. Big bar on the street level. Aquarium, riverboats and an outlet mall are all in walking distance- easy, flat sidewalks. Also next to...

The hotel is in a great location, rooms were clean but overly scented for my taste and the smell caused me to cut my visit short. The staff was helpful but could use more training in customer service. The manager at this location lacks the professional manners needed in the hospitality business..

Air conditioning was loud in our room. Beds where fair. Not as good as expected for a Double Tree. Food in restaurant was very good. Guest services was great. Restroom was very small. I could wash my hands while sitting on toilet.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
