I spent to much money to stay in the room that has two full sized beds, rusting fixtures, and construction going on. But if you go on the 14th floor it was just like we stepped into a whole new world that is not right, for people to pay that amount of money.

This Doubletree is close enough to the French Quarter to be convenient, but far enough away to get some rest. You can walk or take a short cab ride to Bourbon Street. Harrah's Casino is just across the street if you get the urge to play. We enjoyed a drink and watched a little football in the Wow Cafe before... More

Non-functioning a/c in "newly renovated room". Unresponsive staff when problem could not solved. Had to contact Corporate to be moved to another hotel. Returned on 2nd day to a "marginally" functioning a/c.

Hotel has a great location if you are heading for Bourbon street. Well kept and clean rooms however our experience got ruined by a terrible noise in our room, like a buzzing sound that kept going up and down. The ceiling has small square polystyren and we kept having to get up during night to hit them as they kept... More

DoubleTree New Orleans staff was pleasant, even before our arrival. DoubleTree representatives were understanding, comforting, and encouraging in their communications with us, especially throughout the numerous calls to communicate that our flight would get us in 6 hours after our scheduled arrival time. The e-mailed information that was received prior to our arrival date did leave something to be desired.... More

We had five nights here. Check in smooth and given a yummy warm choc chip cookie. Room had recently been refurbished so was lovely spacious and new. Huge big king size bed very comfy. Ice machine didn't work whole time we were there but wasn't really a big deal. Would have loved safe in room but we were able to... More

Hotel was very clean and all staff was professional and kind. Excellent Bar/Grill beneath hotel with great service. Couldn't ask for a better location directly across from Mall, great food & Casino if your into that type of thing. Would definitely go back

We are here for 10 nights. Reservations kinda got messed up. We are with a group and had requested to be with them but to no avail. 1st night we were on a lower floor and were awakened with lots of construction noise overhead. Requested a different room on a higher floor that has been renovated. The walls are thin... More

The pictures will definitely fool you. It appears nice from the outside but inside was not so great. I visited Essence weekend and on arrival I noticed renovation. There was trash & construction in the hallways, rooms were so small. I even offered to pay more for a bigger room but they could not upgrade me due to being booked.... More

Clean, affordable, peaceful amongst the chaos of the city. I definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The beds are extremely comfortable. Our check in was easy and pleasant.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
