The hotel has been recently renovated and is nice and modern. The rooms are small, but otherwise fine. The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The WOW cafe staff are engaging and entertaining.

First, the location is great. Located on the corner of Canal St. and S. Peters, the Doubletree puts you one block from the French Quarter, while still keeping you away from the noise and crowds. The Doubletree is located right across from the casino, and walking distance to many attractions in the central business district and downtown. Going to the...

We stayed here for a weekend trip with friends. The location is great, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the middle of the French Quarter. The room was clean and comfortable. The only negative was that the hot water seemed to run out kind of quickly in the shower.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of most attractions. There is a coffee shop connected to the building as a bonus. The staff at this location is very helpful, and the rooms are modern and comfortable. The only negative about this property is that the elevator causes constant noise within the rooms, much like a wind tunnel.

I stayed two nights at the Doubletree before my cruise . The hotel was just finishing a major remodeling of every room and hotel lobby, it was like the hotel just opened its doors brand new. My room was reasonably priced and on a high floor with a view of the Mississippi river . Harrahs casino is across the street...

My very first impression of the property as I walked in was great as I was greeted by Olivia. She was the sweetest thing and made me feel at home immediately. She like my outfit and I proceeded to get advice on what to wear to a business meeting I had to run off to. She was so sweet and...

Everything I could have asked for ... and more. Arrived earlier than expected and the staff cheerfully and expeditiously found a room on my requested floor because the one i had pre-selected was not yet available. The room was spacious, immaculate and had a decent view of the city.Bathroom was nicely updated if a little small if you're tall the...

You are steps from everything! The rooms are very nice and modern. Loved the electronic key on my phone... was able to check-in before I arrived, get notified when my room was ready, download my key to my phone and go straight to my room. Although they were nice I am sure... I never needed to talk to a staff...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
