Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

My husband and I checked into the hotel with no problems. We had a day and a half to spend there in between our daughters chemo treatments so it was a much needed time away. We literally left our luggage and came down to explore. The front desk had directed us to the concierge desk to the side. We spoke to Whitney about what to do with so little time. This was our first time visiting New Orleans. Well right away she asked us if we would go and give a review on a hotel. I asked what it entailed and she said, " well since we don't advertise, we rely on word of mouth to advertise for us and tell people about our Hotels." She said we would get a breakfast and it was about 1-11/2 hours tops while we ate then went on a tour and that was it. she said they would pay for our cruise on the Riverboat Natchez. She convinced us even though we told her we were on very limited time. The next morning we attending this "tour". I had never heard of a timeshare but we were made to feel so bad as we told them we were unable to purchase due to our daughter's medical bills. We lost a whole half a day there! I was so upset that it took 4 hours from start to finish. We had to leave the following morning. They also had to call the shuttle 3 times to come take us to the Riverboat as they said they would take care of it as well.. We were so short of time, we didn't get to fully enjoy ourselves and enjoy the lovely hotel. I guess being from a small town, not hearing about a time share really hurt us. I guess I was so upset at the fact that she said it was to help them advertise a new hotel they had there. After we returned my husband tried to speak to Whitney and ask her why she said it was an hour to hour and a half tour of a hotel and she acted shocked that it wasn't. The other staff was so helpful, the bed was comfy and the location was ideal but I wish they had not wasted our short trip there. They first evening we did a ghost tour and returned to the hotel after 1 am. Saturday we went on the Riverboat Natchez and explored.New Orleans has so much history that we didn't get to experience because of the half day wasted. Please be honest with people!

The Wyndham New Orleans French Quarter has the perfect location, being 1 block off Bourbon Street and a block off Canal Street. This gave us the best of both worlds, being in the heart of the French Quarter, but being just off the busiest areas. We had a 17th floor king room that overlooked the French Quarter, New Orleans skyline that was beautiful at night and some of Canal Street. The entire staff from the general manager to the valets were fantastic and we would definitely stay here again. Being the slow season and booking thru Groupon the rates were below $100 a night, but they do get you for $38 a night for parking, but every hotel here does the same. They have a indoor pool only on the 10th floor and a very nice restaurant,"Ole Saint" on the 1st floor with a great happy hour and reasonable ($15) buffet breakfast that includes your drink. This Wyndham is a very nice comfortable property with the perfect location, that we we revisit in 2021.

My stay was from June 4 to June 6. I arrived early, but the location I requested was not ready. The friendly person checking me in took my cell phone number. She called just a little while later. The room was ready. I checked in to #1706. The view of the Mississippi River and New Orleans was great. The room was very clean. The only workers' name I remembered was Michele Poole. Sorry. She, just like every one else, was concerned and helpful. The hotel's location was perfect, one block from Bourbon, right off Canal and the streetcar, and a short walk to Harrah's. I had everything I needed including the adjoining good restaurant. I will be back.

This location was great for us (myself 4 year old and 67 year old mother) beds were comfortable and room was clean and nice, and I am really fussy with good locations and cleanliness We found it to be a great location with easy access to walking towards the river down canal street and bourbon street. I’d stay at this resort again if I were to visit New Orleans either as a family or just with my partner
