My husband and I stayed at Hotel De la Monnaie 7/26-8/2/2022. We enjoyed our stay there, the staff was the best, they went out of their way to accommodate us. The location is perfect, within walking distance to the French Quater but on the outskirts so you can get a good night's sleep. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the lovely garden. Looking forward to staying at Hotel De la Monnaie again!
Conveniently located a block from edge of French Quarter, and Frenchmen Street entertainment, and a quarter block from the streetcar stop. Enclosed parking for a fee. Courteous professional staff. Laundry room. Treadmill and stationary bike.
The Hotel de la Monnaie had the ambiance of New Orleans. It was close enough to walk to the french Quarter, Jackson Square etc. The french market was right down the street but was far enought away for some quiet time.
Front desk told us they would waive the $50 cleaning fee if we extended our stay, then waited a week and raised the rate and charged us, despite the fact that we didn't use any cleaning services our entire stay. The staff at this hotel are shady, greedy and untrustworthy. If you stay here, check your final bill and make sure they don't add hidden fees or try to double charge you.
We love being owners at Hotel de la Monnaie, our quaint, convenient and friendly annual "home away from home"! The staff is friendly and helpful, The rooms are unique and personalized and the common areas are comfortable and exude Southern charm! Rooms are being updated over time with more modern fixtures and furniture, which is appreciated. There is some tweaking to do here, but the management staff is responsive and helpful with concerns. We bought our unit/week almost 20 years ago and HdlM never disappoints! The hotel is walkable to all parts of the Quarter, closeby to music, food and entertainment, yet quiet and comfortable.
I loved it here. I come to the city 1-2 times a year, but finding the right place to stay is tough because I need to be close to the Quarter but have access to a fridge. The location is close to perfect; it has its own FREE parking and is laid out with nice shaded outdoor balconies. It's slightly tough to get in and out of with a wheelchair but if you go in and out the garage there is a door but no step. If you want to eat breakfast or a snack in the French Market it's a short walk; or if you want to go to Frenchman's Street, catch free jazz at the Jazz Museum, or wander away from the Quarter it is a short Uber ride. Whole Foods delivers, and so do a lot of restaurants, so for the budget conscious you can bring your own milk for the minifridge and enjoy a cup of coffee and a breakfast before going out or return home to a sandwich or leftovers. The beds are extremely comfortable. On the hottest day, my husband and I played in the shaded wading pool laughing like kids. It felt like staying in a home away from home without awkwardly feeling like all the stuff belonged to someone else. It's not an upscale experience -- don't expect champagne or antique furniture -- but for the price you get twice as much space and a full galley kitchen and a great location. I fully intend to stay here again.…
Wonderful location for close to Frenchmen Street activities and for French Quarter Fest. The room was spacious. The bed was advertised as Queen? Seemed small for a Queen bed. There was a huge bleach stain in the middle of the dark carpet and the carpet smelled. Blinds were in inside the windows, some of the blinds were broken and couldn’t be closed or opened.
This hotel had it all the rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious.the location was ideal and I can not say enough of the staff they were friendly and informative very easy process to check in and out
The rooms were very small and it took forever for it to cool down. The staff was very friendly and let us drop off luggage before our tour even though the room wasn’t ready. It is very close to the French market. Jackson square was only about 5 or 6 blocks away so it is convenient to everything
This resort is perfectly located for the French Quarter. Walking distance to all the music venues and restaurants. We walked everywhere and when you want to get to other districts, the Streetcar is a fun option to experience the history of NOLA.
