We were in the front room in what seemed like a maze. I would love to see all the rooms but it was pretty well booked up. Our room was spacious and comfortable with beautiful antique furniture. We only encountered other guests briefly until the last morning when several of us had breakfast together. It was one of those B&B...

I was luckily to be able to stay in the guest house behind the main house. We had cocktail hour on that lovely porch. Barbara was a friendly informative hostess and provided a Continental breakfast. The neighborhood was convenient to buses and streetcar. So much better and more relaxing than the large hotels we usually stay in!

This was my first B&B experience and I was pleasantly surprised. Barbara, the owner, is great. She provided us with several suggestions for food, entertainment, etc. The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood that we thoroughly enjoyed walking around. The rooms were nice and the bathroom was clean. We also enjoyed the breakfast.

From the moment I spoke to Barbara Martin on the phone from my home in Florida, I had a good feeling about The Audubon Park House Bed and Breakfast. Well, the photos on the site don't do justice to just how adorable the B&B is, and, Barbara is even better in person than on the phone. If you want a...

New Orleans typically gives one a bit of sensory overload. So in the evening, once you've taken in all you can take in, it's nice to have a quiet place to hole up.... this is one of those places. Once upon a time it was a "double house", now reconfigured to a "single house". Well located in the Uptown or...

We had a great stay this past weekend at this charming B&B. Came into town for the Tulane game (vs UCF) and this was withing walking distance. Barbara was very knowledgeable and helpful during our stay (and Chico is too cute!). Great courtyard in the back and comfy beds. St. Charles street car line only 4 short blocks, $3 for...

The best sleep in years, quiet and comfortable.. near the park, Magazine Street, St Charles Ave... Barbara is a charming knowledgable host. Great breakfasts. Chico, her Pomeranian is a great little ambassador of goodwill. We will be back to our new favorite place. Just can't stop the superlatives!!

Barbara is a charming and engaging hostess, and her B&B couldn't be more convenient to Tulane! We stayed during Homecoming/Parents Weekend of our son's senior year and only wish we had found Audubon Park House B&B sooner. We're glad the accounting program is a five-year program! The room was well appointed and spacious, and breakfast was plentiful. It was easy...

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
