Dauphine house is an amazing BnB! The location is fantastic; walking distance to all of the touristy places as well as local hangouts. Karen is such a wonderful and caring hostess. She went out of her way to make sure we were enjoying our vacation and hitting all the best local spots. She had a perfect suggestion for everything we...

Jessi, thank you so much! I love it when guests dive into New Orleans and experience everything----the music, the food, the history, etc. It's exciting to me to be able to share this city I love with others. I hope you and Ben can come back again!

This BnB is the most fantastic little place to do Nola like a local. Karen, the hostess, is fantastic. She loves the city, knows all the best spots, will show you around, and has a wonderful house. The house was super clean, close to everywhere you really want to be and in a very safe location in the Marigny. Frenchmen...

Ben, thank you so much for your kind words! It was a pleasure meeting you and Jessi, and finding out your favorite New Orleans hang outs, restaurants, etc. Your adventures reminded me to mention Coop's Place to my future guests! Thanks again, and I hope you can come back again sometime!

My husband and I stayed here during our first trip to New Orleans. Karen was flexible and gracious when I had to move the dates back for a work meeting and met us outside upon our arrival to help us find a parking spot. She informed us about all the great restaurants and bars in the area and took us...

Lindsay, it was so great to meet you and Jason! For the short amount of time you were here, you covered a LOT of territory! I love it when guests throw themselves into the City! I hope you can come back again sometime.

We stayed here in the gap between the French Quarter Festival and the Jazz Fest. Karen, the owner and hostess, was just great - super helpful and friendly when needed but otherwise not intrusive. She met us when we arrived, showed us around, gave us directions and a useful map. We stayed here with another couple and had two adjoining...

We went last weekend and stayed at the Dauphine house for a long overdue honeymoon. We thoroughly enjoyed this place. I tend to prefer a B&B anyways but Karen really was great. She opened the room up to us early and allowed us to stay very late on check in day. Pastries in the room daily, along with pralines (YUM)...

Hi, Kim! Thanks so much for the review! I'm so glad that you and Eric had a good time. I know what you mean about Bourbon Street! Frenchmen Street is a whole different vibe. It's a great way for out-of-towners to hang with the locals and hear their unique blend/fusion/explosion of music! So glad you enjoyed it. Hope you can...

This was our first trip to the Big Easy and we wanted to be within walking distance to the French Quarter without breaking the bank. This place was by far the best. It was close to everything. One of its best values is the free parking. The room was exactly what we wanted. Clean, quiet and safe. Karen, the owner...

Rocky, thank you so much for your kind words! I enjoyed reading all of your New Orleans reviews. I'm glad you mentioned Coop's Place and the Gumbo Shop. I need to add them to my list of recommendations. Sounds like you had a great Big Easy birthday! I hope you and Shannon can come back again sometime.

Karen is amazing! The room was so comfortable, and the location is steps to Frenchman street, French quarter, Esplanade. It was a homey neighborhood around the corner from music, restaurants and the French market. We rented a car and parking was never a problem. Karen gave us indispensable advice about events and history. We cannot wait to return!

Couldn't have been nicer. Beautifully restored B&B. Karen was a great hostess and gave us a lot of tips. Our room was small but it's an old house with a lot of personality. The location is perfect, right off the French Quarter and blocks from Frenchman St. We would definitely stay there again.

Located just outside of the French Quarter and it takes only less than five minutes to enter the French Quarter. The room was nice and cozy. We had muffins, cakes, biscotti, bananas, chicory coffee/tea/orange juice for breakfast in the room. The owner of the place, Karen Jeffries, was so kind and helpful, she got us a map with interesting places...

Karen was awesome. She did everything to make our stay here comfortable. Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
