The owner and staff are taking COVID-19 protocols very seriously while still providing a welcoming, relaxing experience. The mansion is tidy and cleaned to perfection. Parking is easy as is the walk to local restaurants and shops.
We were in town to visit family. In light of covid concerns I felt more comfortable at a smaller property and this location worked well. The room and the entire property were beautiful and super-clean. We enjoyed evenings on the porch with beer and wine. In these strange times, we got takeout from Commander's Palace right around the corner. Looking forward to a future stay when we can go for a proper sit down meal there.
The Mansion is simply enchanting. The bed was so comfortable we could barely get ourselves to leave the room and explore the city!! The air conditioner was wonderful, it was like an oasis in the middle of all the humidity. The neighborhood is to die for, right in the heart of the Garden District, a giant oak hangs over the mansion. The location is a block away from the historic St. Charles streetcar that takes you right to the French Quarter. The staff was wonderful, they even noticed it was our anniversary and left us local chocolates and a hand-written note. We will never stay anywhere else in NOLA!
I recently stayed at the Sully Mansion for a weekend while moving my daughter to Loyola. The location is perfect for access to the city as well as being able to enjoy the Garden District and its incredible architecture. To be able to stay in one of these mansions is a magnificent experience. Melinda was a perfect host and has created a truly one of a kind experience. I loved the intimate feel and the breakfast was perfect. Coming back to the huge and perfectly appointed room was a highlight of the stay. I will attempt to stay at the Sully Mansion every time I return to NOLA.
I'm not sure it's possible to leave as glowing a review as I'd like. This place is utterly magnificent and we had the best time staying there. The property is stunning and our room was gorgeous. I only wish we hadn't had such jam-packed days in New Orleans so we could've spent more time at the hotel itself. But coming "home" to it every night was a dream. When you picture the magnolia tree ambiance of New Orleans, Sully Mansion is the image you have in your mind. Melinda couldn't have been kinder, more gracious, or more helpful. Breakfast each morning was elegant and delicious, and we adored having it on the beautiful porch. Some day when we head back for a return NOLA visit, booking a room here again will be among our top priorities.
