My cousin and I (both seniors) enjoyed a fabulous three days at Sully Mansion in April. The historic home is clean, very comfortable and beautiful. We fell in love with the gorgeous stained glass windows over the staircase. This quiet area in the Garden District cannot be beaten for convenience with ample street parking and within walking distance of restaurants on Magazine Street and the St. Charles street trolley. We felt pampered in this gorgeous historic home, surrounded by beautiful flowers and wicker chairs on the front porch for relaxing. The owner, Andreas, and the manager, Melinda, were both warmly welcoming and very helpful as we got oriented to the area. When the trolley did not come as scheduled, Andreas immediately scheduled an Uber and showed us seniors how to summon Uber. They each recommended restaurants which were stellar. The breakfasts were lovely, varied and delicious, served in the dining room where a common fridge stocked drinks and an honesty bar with snacks was well stocked. Nothing was overlooked in an effort to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. When we absentmindedly left our jackets in the closet as we departed, Andreas contacted us and immediately mailed them to our homes. The location, the warm hospitality, the delicious breakfasts and the beauty of Sully Mansion earned it a 5 star rating from us in every category and created wonderful New Orleans memories!

I loved the old world charm of the Mansion, especially the 13ft ceilings. Everything about my stay was about how to make”me” comfortable. You are right smack inside the Garden District, so walking around the neighborhood is a breathtaking experience. Much of my time was spent sitting on the front porch watching the world go buy and reading. If you want to enjoy a taste of New Orlean’s history this is the place to be. I look forward to my next stay there.

We spent a long weekend in New Orleans for our anniversary. We chose Sully Mansion based on reviews and location and what a great choice! We landed around noon and since we couldn’t check in until 2pm we went to Domilises poboys for lunch. Check in was easy and right on time. We walked the garden district that afternoon-I googled a free walking tour and we did it at our own pace. The coffee shop on the next block is really good and there is a cute bookstore. We also visited a nearby wine bar which was very good. That night we went to Commanders palace which is a 3 minute walk-unfortunately we had terrible service and had to leave after 2 hours when we still didn’t have our food! I wouldn’t recommend eating there but luckily walked a few blocks and found a restaurant still open for coffee and beignets. The next day, after a fabulous breakfast at the Inn of quiche, fruit, apple tart and homemade sourdough bread with fig jam, we walked to the French quarter and did another self guided walking tour. It was an easy walk-about 2.5 miles- through a pretty area. The smell of honeysuckle along the walk was wonderful! After deciding the French quarter is not our speed we did a free tour of Sazarac House. I highly recommend this! We learned all about Sazarac and had free samples of 3 mixed drinks. That night we had dinner at atchafalaya which is a short walk and enjoyed it very much. The shrimp and grits and cocktails were amazing as well as the blue cheese flan. Good wine list also. The next day after another fabulous breakfast at the inn of bagels, fruit and hard boiled eggs, we walked to the world war 2 museum and (about a 20 min walk) stopping on the way for a great coffee at mojo coffee. We spent about 4 hours at the museum (get your tickets in advance) then had lunch at true foods kitchen before catching an afternoon show at preservation hall in the French quarter. We had a great dinner that night at coquette (short walk) then walked to get ice cream at Parrish parlour. Wonderful ice cream! I can’t say enough good things about the inn. The owners were friendly and we enjoyed chatting with the guests-a bride and her bridesmaids. Their excitement for her wedding was contagious! We enjoyed visiting with them on the large porch one evening. Our room was on the front of the house and full of sunlight. The birds woke us up in the morning. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The Inn has a perfect location in the garden district and we walked everywhere but the trolley is close and Ubers plentiful. So nice not to be in the noise of the french quarter but easily accessible. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch and enjoying a glass of wine (honor system payment) and the breakfasts were perfection. Will stay here again if we return to NOLA and will recommend to friends.

Reserved 5 rooms for a large birthday celebration. Allowed us to have some younger children included. Exquisite home! Rooms were great! Excellent communication throughout!! Strung lights in back/side so our party would have some privacy in the evening socializing. Cannot beat the location - Garden District, 1 block to St Charles Streetcar, tons of restaurants, bars and boutiques a short walk away on Magazine Stt.

Melinda's breakfasts are wonderful! She varies the offerings each day and includes delicious home-baked goodies, fresh fruit, meats, cheese, etc. as well as fresh-squeezed orange juice. Afternoon wine for porch-sitting was a nice treat. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. Plus, the Garden District location was perfect for us!

We were really lucky to get the last room available over Thanksgiving weekend. The rooms are just like the website and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was great and the baked goods were a treat. Everything outside of the Garden District was a quick Uber ride away but you could walk to the WWII museum in 1/2 hour. Melinda was a gracious hostess and mentioned must try menu item at our chosen dinner restaurants. We already plan to come back and Sully Mansion will be our choice to stay.

What a beautiful house in the most incredible area of the garden district! Wonderful breakfast in the morning, wonderful hosts, and great times on the front porch having a drink or playing backgammon. Check out coquette for dinner just a few blocks away! Hopefully we will be back soon.

The Sully Mansion is the perfect place for a New Orleans getaway. Our best friends stayed in another room and we all loved it. The location is perfect, with easy access to the streetcar and in a quiet, safe, and beautiful Garden District neighborhood location. Also easy walking distance to Magazine Street. Melinda was so helpful and pleasant. The beautiful old house is so charming with all its original character. The rooms are clean and cozy, and beautifully decorated in quaint New Orleans style. The common areas are also very comfortable and cozy, especially the big porch overlooking the oak trees. We really appreciated the free happy hours each day, and all the breakfasts were delicious! We can’t wait to stay here again!

Our suite at the Sully Mansion was perfect for traveling with our teenage daughter - she had her own room and bathroom and we had a small sitting area in addition to our bedroom. The house is beautiful and after lots of walking, it was great to sit on the porch with a glass of wine. Fantastic breakfast (I hadn’t had a soft-boiled egg in years!) and Melinda made us a go bag when we had an early departure for a swamp tour. Melinda was so responsive with every question and request we had. Garden district location is quiet but not far for a trolley ride or Uber to restaurants. Would definitely return for another long weekend.

I can’t say enough good things about this stay. The home itself, indoor and outdoor sitting spaces, as well as my room were just gorgeous. I stayed in Dauphine which has a separate entrance on the side of the house. The room was spotless, comfortable, every detail was taken care of. Very nice bath products, a huge tub with jets, robes, fresh water. Anything you would need for a comfy relaxing stay. There was wine and other beverages along with chocolates and nuts to snack on. Breakfast was fresh high quality food - homemade sourdough bread w fancy butter and homemade jam, fresh banana bread and coffee cake, eggs and bacon, Melinda even offered to make me a yogurt granola fruit parfait since I’m vegetarian. Lastly the neighborhood is just lovely - I enjoyed walking around and looking at the restored mansions with ornate architecture and beautiful gardens. There are excellent restaurants and cafes in close walking distance. And parking was free and easy. Andrea and Melinda truly go out of their way to welcome guests … I travel extensively staying in boutique hotels and bed and breakfasts all over. This place is top notch.
