We booked this hotel through Booking.com in January. The price of the room, heavily discounted was still over £100 a night and the description given led us to believe we were going to stay in a luxurious suite. On arrival things went downhill very quickly and when we saw the room a small bed in a small room with no... More

I am a disabled veteran and stayed here on the 4th of July.the staff was very dissrespectfull and rude they didn't have anything that it says online and the air didn't work in the rooms so after calling they finally brought a fan this was the worst place I've ever stayed a complete waste of my hard earned money.I totally... We recently stayed here. It's is an ok hotel. Since this is not my first time in New Orleans , I was not put off by some of the things wrong. 1) the plugin situation needs help. One of the plugins was loose and would not securely hold a charger. 2) I am from Alabama and expect the weather to... More

The hotel is just up the block from Lafitte's blacksmith shop. Our favorite bar, And 1 block from Cafe Du Monde! We loved it, The building is historic property and very well kept. Beautiful courtyard. Continental breakfast served in your room comes in handy when you are hungover.

Hotel is located in a premium location in the French Quarter, a block away from the French Market and the river, and a couple of blocks away from Bourbon street. Far enough to be peaceful, but close enough to walk to great restaurants and bars. The staff was very nice. The room itself was nothing to write home about, but... More

The location of this hotel is wonderful! We didn't move our cars once. There is a $30 parking charge in addition to your room charge for parking your vehicle. The parking lot is across the street from the garden gates of the hotel. We had three rooms. One queen room facing the street side with a balcony---it was garbage day... More

I had stayed here previously on a trip in 2003. Chose it due to less busy location in the Quarter and it is fairly priced (for the Quarter). My niece and I stayed in a Deluxe double queen room for 2 nights. Be aware that this room type may not be in the main building! Our room was in an... More

Great location, friendly staff. This was a great place to stay for the kids to experience the French Quarter. The courtyard makes the rooms and the pool nice and secluded. They have a parking lot, which is a huge deal in New Orleans.Walking distance from everything. Our kids are 17 and 13 and loved it. we would stay here again.

Charming boutique hotel which is undergoing changes in ownership and unfortunately showed during our stay. The staff was overall nice and accommodating (one front desk guy left a lot to be desired in attitude when I called to ask if wifi was back up), the breakfast was sad and no longer served in room, the AC was out a lot... My friends and I stayed in a suite at Chateau Hotel the day we arrived back from our cruise. The location of this hotel is perfect walking distance everywhere in the French Quarter. I personally went out exploring on my own that afternoon and had no problem finding my way around. The room was spacious and clean, and the front... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
