Booked this hotel on Expedia. First room had no windows and smelled of mildew/mold. Second room they offered had window but also smelled. Noticed mold growing on walls around air conditioner vent, closet and another wall. Stain on comforter also. We did not stay any nights but they refused to refund one night. It should be illegal to sell a... More

We spent 5 days at Chateau Hotel last week. First off I want to say, all of their employees are awesome! When you needed something they were right there. The morning Continental Breakfast was always well stocked and I never saw them run out of anything, which is always appreciated. The room itself was another issue. We were on the... More

Thank you for your honest review, and thank you for finding the Chateau and staying with us. I'm sorry you found yourselves uncomfortable with some of the experience, but I'm so, so glad the staff made an impression. That recognition is pure gold for us. You can be sure the Chateau Hotel is in good hands. As of just recently,... More

Chateau Hotel is a wonderful old building with a lovely courtyard, the staff are very friendly and helpful, parking is across the road and costs $30 a day but you are in the central city, everything is just a walk away so for touring the nightlife in Bourbon st this hotel is ideal, being an older hotel there is a... Staff at front desk were helpful. However parking was a nightmare. They have no valet and there is no where to park for less than 30 per night. Also the air is controlled by the front desk. Our room was so hot and when we complained they stated it would cool off some when the sun goes down. Last stay... More

Dear samalb1978, Thank you for staying with us, and for taking the time to share your review. We do strive to make every guest comfortable. Due to the compact nature of the neighborhood, though, parking is often difficult, and does tend to come at a cost. We are unfortunately unable to offer valet service. There are parking spots on site,... More

The hotel is charming and located right in the French Quarter. Bourbon St. is 2 blocks over. It's also very close to cafe Du Monde and the river. Towels seemed to be in short supply. The staff is very friendly though. Our room had NO windows, so it was very dark. Luckily we did not spend much time in it.... More

When I arrived at the hotel, they did not have the room that I requested with 2 full beds. I pre-paid the room. Therefore, I waited for 20 minutes for the hotel to find me a room. I went with my husband and son and they only had available rooms with a King bed. The first 2 rooms that they... More

...and that's about it. Go into this knowing that you're booking an expensive motel. You might end up on the ground level with a door that opens pretty much to the street, which is loud and doesn't feel like the safest place to be. The room we had was extremely small and the bathroom had a leak in the ceiling.... More

We booked this hotel through Booking.com in January. The price of the room, heavily discounted was still over £100 a night and the description given led us to believe we were going to stay in a luxurious suite. On arrival things went downhill very quickly and when we saw the room a small bed in a small room with no... More

We recently stayed here. It's is an ok hotel. Since this is not my first time in New Orleans , I was not put off by some of the things wrong. 1) the plugin situation needs help. One of the plugins was loose and would not securely hold a charger. 2) I am from Alabama and expect the weather to... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
