We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the chateau hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, especially John, Brandon and Melanie. Nothing was too much trouble and they offered excellent suggestions for tours and restaurants. The room was spacious and welcoming with a very comfy bed. The courtyard provided a pleasant spot to enjoy breakfast or some quiet time. The...

Only 2 blocks from French Quarter, Jackson Square, and.Bourbon St. If you are looking to enjoy NO and don't need a 4-star hotel, then this once Chateau is the place. The staff is wonderfully friendly and full of helpful advice.

I'd like to first start out by saying we stayed here last year same weekend and had a wonderful experience! We visit NOLA every year during Thanksgiving and thought we had found our home away from home in New Orleans, nope not after this visit. The location is excellent and I am now sad that we will not stay there...

Thank you for your feedback, as much as it pains us to read it, it is necessary to know which areas are in continued need of growth and improvement, since we have only recently acquired the property. So let me apologize on behalf of myself and all of my staff that your stay did not meet expectations. While I am...

We had a tiny room which was what we expected but it was poorly lit and not the cleanest. Read website closely. They say parking available up top but at the bottom it says "first come first serve". In New Orleans that means "no parking". I would not chance it again. We ended up paying $90 dollars to park in...

We had a great 2 nights there! It is small & older, so not super updated, but it's quaint, unique & totally the French quarter feel we wanted. If you're a light sleeper, bring something to help cover general hotel noise. Walked to everything we needed, close to restaurants & Bourbon street, but far enough to avoid the crazies. Staff...

So I was really looking forward to this hotel as it being close to the French quarter. First thing that was difficult was parking. There is no parking near the hotel and you are forced to pay 30$ to park in their lot. Ok. Next up was the room. I wasn't happy with the room. The closet was dirty and...

I usually like the quirkier hotels in the French Quarter. I have been told Chateau has some great rooms, but ours was not one of them. The bed was quite comfortable, and the room was pest free. But we did have some mold issues and clogged drains. The cleaning staff was friendly and kept our room tidy and most of...

This hotel was a grave disappointment. The reception staff are unwelcoming, even quite surly. The room was a disgrace - not clean, a cracked window pane, hot water which takes many minutes to run hot, and mold under the basin and in the shower. The breakfast was a joke - very little on offer, and only a cardboard dish to...

This hotel is truly awful in every sense of the word. I have traveled the world and stayed in many hotels in the French Quarter over the past 10 years. The rooms are disgusting. The carpet is grimy, mold coats the walls, etc. The amenities I paid for (fridge, etc.) were not provided in room. The walls are thin and...

We rented 3 rooms for a 3-day stay, and requested at least one room downstairs for health reasons, then I called. Our rooms looked recently renovated and the beds were firm (nice). We found the desk clerk a tad snotty/curt, but the rest were very friendly. The courtyard was a nice setting to enjoy coffee and croissants, and the pool...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
