The wife and I stayed in the Chateau for 4 nights. Its a great location just a few blocks from Bourbon Street and the Mississippi River. It also feels very safe, being just far enough away from the crazies and very secure (they lock the gates at night so you must enter through the check-in area). We stayed in a... More

Great service as our front desk lady was very nice and accommodating. she helped us with the parking..etc..When you stay here you truly feel like your travelling back in time in the beautiful french quarter....the back courtyard and pool area are really nice. the only complaint....our shower kept on filling and leaking....that's it.

That's my favorite part of being in the French Quarter, Mark. There's so much culture around, and you're still able to see the rest of New Orleans if you want! Be sure to let our front desk known next time if there's an issue with your shower. We'll be sure to take a look! Hope to see you again, Sarah... More

My family booked a room with 2 double beds, for 3 nights in January. The room was small and cluttered. The bathroom sink and toilet had exposed rusted fittings underneath. The bathroom floor corners had built up dirt. The room had no ceiling light which in itself is not a problem, however there was only one lamp on a side... More

We love being a part of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Even though that means our hotel may be a little older, your room should always be clean and welcoming. I'm disappointed you and your family were not impressed during your stay because our staff works hard to make sure you have a great time. All the best, Sarah... More

This is a really good value boutique hotel the rooms are nice and the bed super comfy. The hotel is centrally located and all the sites of New Orleans are within walking distance only a couple of blocks to bourbon street and the Mississippi. The hotel is really nice and fits in with the French quarter architecture. Would definitely stay... More

I have been staying in New Orleans for both business and pleasure since 2000. The Chateau Hotel was the first Hotel I stayed at in 2000 when I came to NOLA for the first time. I loved the upstairs room I stayed in over looking the pool. It was such a beautiful view. Today I booked a stay, check in... More

We loved the room, location, and amenities, I mean who gives free parking in the French Quarter?? Our room was wonderful, historic and magical! Our friend stayed in the Mariott like 30 blocks away and he was envious that we got such a great room, bet he will listen when I say so next! We stayed in the VERY old... More

The Chateau Hotel made my first trip to New Orleans a great one. The location was ideal. Only a few blocks from Bourbon Street and a few steps away from Decatur. The centralized location made traveling to and from places very easy. The staff was lovely and very helpful with things like booking events, calling cars, and food and fun... More

A group of 4 of us had decided to stay at Chateau hotel. It is the French Quarter so things are kind of pricey. It sounds like there was a little mixup for your breakfast orders, and I'd like to apologize that you never received it. That's not the way we like to do things around here! I'll be speaking with our team so I can figure out what happened and make sure we can avoid this in the future. Thanks for taking the... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Chateau for a number of years - at least twice a year for maybe 15 years. We've come solo, with another couple and in groups. It is by far the best experience in New Orleans. We like to be as far away from Canal as possible and we also must have a... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
