For a birthday/anniversary/friends union, my husband and I met another couple in New Orleans. Our friends recommended Bon Maison to us because they had stayed there before. We could not have been happier with the location, room, kitchenette, and garden patio. We met a group vacationing from Canada, spent hours playing cards in the courtyard, but the real treat was... my husband and I, and many of our friends throughout the last 10 years, have been staying at Bon Maison. the owners are so very cordial, give great advice as to where to go in N.O., keep a very clean establishment, and make you feel right at home. don't be "put out" by the fact that Bon Maison is on... This is a quaint property on Bourbon street, just a couple blocks from all the New Orleans nightlife. Our room was cozy, but noisier than expected due the the festival in town this weekend, and the fact that our room (B) was the closest to the street. Our Son had a room in the Slave Quarters, and didn't have the... More

Location: this guest house is located just a couple of blocks from the "crazy" part of Bourbon St so little to no noise while chillin' or sleeping! Accommodations: Loved the Slave Qrts..enough room for the 2 of us and very nice atmosphere! Security was excellent with our gated and locked access from the street! There's a cozy courtyard to relax... More

Chuck is a great host, welcoming and knowledgeable and very friendly. He has achieved the impossible and created a little haven of peace on the noisiest street in the southern states. Our stay was in the Slave quarters but still had all the facilities we needed with a peaceful courtyard in which to relax before, between or after hectic outings... More

I thoroughly regret having booked this. My husband didn't like the idea of staying in a "guest house" when we were booking, but I argued that it was a great value and location. That decision turned into a nightmare for us. We're still coping with the aftershock and consequences. We've been to NOLA at least 15 times, mostly staying at... More

My husband and I wanted a unique location with a bit of history instead of the typical "chain" hotel. Bon Maison was everything we hoped for & more! Our room was in the slaves' quarters where we enjoyed our morning coffee overlooking the courtyard. A short walk in one direction and you're in the heart of Bourbon Street & the... More

We loved our stay at Bon Mansion. Chuck was very friendly and made us feel at home. The outside court yard was very nice to read and drink your coffee. The room was very clean. The price was a great valve for being on Bourbon Street. The diner across the street was perfect and open 24 hours.

This B&B is fab! It's location is right on Bourbon St, yet it's really quiet as its about 2blocks up from the main action (next block up from Marie Leaveau Voodoo shop). I stayed in the slave quarters and whilst it's a cosy room, it had everything I needed (including a microwave, fridge/freezer, and cutlery etc) and it was clean... More

For what you pay, it's a fantastic value in a great location. The Bon Maison is located right on Bourbon street- towards Frenchman street, so it's on the more quiet end. We stayed in the Victorian suite, so we were right on the street. It was a little loud, but nothing too bad. Chuck was a pleasure to work with-... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
