My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here at this hotel! The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in walking distance to Bourbon street and several great restaurants. I would stay here again on my next visit to this wonderful city.

This Hampton is in a perfect location for NOLA. The front desk and valets were so helpful and professional. They offered great suggestions on tours, landmarks and restaurants to try. Everyone from the housekeeping staff to the maintenance crew were friendly as they passed. This is perfect walking distance to the World War II museum and the French Quarter. We...

My husband had never been to NOLA, so we decided to pass through while on our honeymoon. The hotel is located a few steps away from Canal st & Bourbon St where there is plenty of shopping, restaurants & such. The hotel staff is friendly. Breakfast is complimentary, but very basic. The fruit did not taste fresh & the turkey...

Our stay at the Hampton Inn on Carondelet Street was outstanding. Rooms were very clean and the service was outstanding and very helpful with all of our requests and needs. The location was perfect to get to restaurants, key historical sites, tours, French Market and Bourbon Street.

First of all, I really wanted to give this hotel a 4 or Very Good rating, but there were too many things I found not quite up to that rating in a downtown hotel in one of the most visited cities in the US. The location is a plus and it is a clean, quaint hotel since it was once...

This was our second time to stay here. The location is close ,but not too close, to the French Quarter. Our room was comfortable and quiet. It had central heating and cooling rather than a window unit. Our only complaint was very low water pressure in the shower. The breakfast area was spacious and the food was good. Be aware...

Wow is about all I can say. Take a right from the hotel and walk straight until you hit Bourbon street. Hotel was close enough without being right on top of Bourbon street. The hotel atmosphere is wonderful and the employees are very helpful and informative.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
