The Hampton Downtown is ok. The rooms are nice and clean. The front desk is located in an odd spot and check in is chaotic when busy. The valet was very slow. Waited 45 minutes and 7:30 am. I almost late to a meeting. The location is good.

Loved the hotel. It was in walking distance to everything. The breakfast was delicious. The staff was caring and they provided great customer service. I will definitely stay here again the next time I'm in New Orleans!

Spacious and Clean. My favorite spot in New Orleans. Street cars and Canal just steps away. Surrounded by great eats, shops and destinations. Staff is top notch and friendly. Their local knowledge is a welcomed bonus.

Big rooms, comfy beds, breakfast in the morning and just steps away from the French Quarter and transportation. The hotel was quiet and clean. They have a workout room if walking your legs off isn't enough exercise for you. The building was designed by architectural great Daniel Burnham and it's got some beautiful details.

This was my third hotel for my third annual trip to New Orleans. The price was absolutely right and the room was huge. We had two queen beds and a pullout sofa. The bathroom was big too. Everything was clean. The staff was amazingly friendly and addressed the couple issues we had with grace and a smile. (The door was...

This hotel is right outside of the French Quarter (only a few blocks away) - close enough to be convenient, far enough to be relatively quiet. If you prefer a silent room, look for something in the Garden District. While farther from the French Quarter, you can take the trolley and enjoy the slower pace. If you will be spending...

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here at this hotel! The front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in walking distance to Bourbon street and several great restaurants. I would stay here again on my next visit to this wonderful city.

This Hampton is in a perfect location for NOLA. The front desk and valets were so helpful and professional. They offered great suggestions on tours, landmarks and restaurants to try. Everyone from the housekeeping staff to the maintenance crew were friendly as they passed. This is perfect walking distance to the World War II museum and the French Quarter. We...

My husband had never been to NOLA, so we decided to pass through while on our honeymoon. The hotel is located a few steps away from Canal st & Bourbon St where there is plenty of shopping, restaurants & such. The hotel staff is friendly. Breakfast is complimentary, but very basic. The fruit did not taste fresh & the turkey...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
