The hotel was in a great location. Convenient to the street car stops and just a couple blocks from Canal St and Bourbon St. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. It is just far enough from the action to get a great night's sleep. The parking is valet only and pretty expensive at... More

Beautiful hotel, big room, excellent service, very clean and confortable. Walking distance from Bourbon Street. In the same building you have a small mall with all you could need and a lot of restaurants and points of interest are walking distance from the hotel.

The room was clean, cold and crisp - with a comfortable king size bed and convenient bed-side lights and tables. Nothing lacey or decorative about it, just a really good functional room. The bathroom has Neutrogena hotel-sized toiletries, but without body shampoo if I remember correctly (there was a bar of soap though). The shower was good, but the Deluxe... More

Enjoyed our stay at the Hampton. The hotel is on Carondelet which changes to Bourbon Street a block and a half east (crossover Canal). They did a beautiful job of renovating an old building. Our suite was on the 6th floor in a quiet corner. The breakfast was the standard Hampton fare but done well and the dining area was larger than... More

We very much enjoyed our side trip to New Orleans and our stay at the Hampton Inn was a totally wonderful experience. My wife was very impressed and has said so several times. The close proximity to Bourban St. and to the Natchez made it easy to walk around and with our car valet parked, we had no need to... More

We were staying two nights in New Orleans prior to heading over to the Northshore for a family reunion. We wanted to be in close proximity to food & dining options in the Quarter without being right in the action. This hotel was ideal for that. We could easily walk, take a street car, or Uber to destinations of our... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
