The hotel is very dated, old, and dirty. It is in a good location. We saw many holes throughout hotel and we saw dead roaches in the hall. The room too had random holes. Front counter staff was friendly and breakfast was decent.
Stayed at this property from 4/16 - 4/20. I had originally has reserved a suite at the Embassy suites Loft, but the suite was quite small. Switched to the property at Julia St which was much more spacious. The staff at the Embassy Suites were...More

For a "suites" hotel, my room was surprisingly small. It was the size of a typical old hotel room with room for a bed and desk. No sofa or even a comfortable chair--just the desk chair. There was no trash can anywhere in the room--only...More
This Embassy Suites is a bit old and the rooms have an odd set up with very limited space around the sink. However it is clean and the breakfast omelets can't be beat. That's what makes it a great bargain. The nightly reception is quite...More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
