The Creole Gardens From the beautiful courtyard to the fun and beautifully decorated rooms to the fact that their "pet friendly" is really "pet friendly". Our dog loved it there! It was close to the trolley to ride into the French Quarter and being in the Garden District we felt like we were home. Everyone there was so accommodating, friendly... More

This hotel was so cute! The room was pretty, bright, comfortable and quiet. We stayed in the cottage and enjoyed the courtyard. Great breakfasts, convenient parking and super spot for staying with a dog. We also really enjoyed all the beautiful walks you could take in the neighborhood.

I would not have found Creole Gardens if I was not looking for somewhere we could stay with our dog- and I'm glad I did find this gem. A bit off the beaten path, this is not a cookie cutter hotel experience. Keith the manager was very helpful when I called to book a room for myself, husband and 3... More

We spent 2 nights in New Orleans we were blown away by how beautiful and clean the place was, once inside the rooms it was MAGNIFICENT!!!! at a great price plus our host was very attentive and helpful. The street is quite, and located in a safe area and the St. Charles streetcar is only a block away or if... More

It had always been a dream of mine to road trip across the country with my dogs. New Orleans was our last stop on our “Dog-Cation Road trip across America”. Booked months in advance for one of the larger suites in the mansion, come to find out through e-mail that my suite had been downgraded due to traveling with dogs.... More

First there was a bit of a mixup about our reservation which we made through hotels.com, but we ended up getting upgraded to a nicer room with a K bed instead of a Q; we were in cottage 2,which is a lovely room. It was very large with a closet, two chairs, and a large bathroom. The courtyard is lovely... More

Creole Gardens was such an adorable place. It is an old mansion, it has an old south antebellum feel. Warm and friendly staff. The courtyard was nice. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Joe, a native to the New Orleans was engaging guests at breakfast, wonderful history and conversation about the area. Excellent tips about getting around.... More

Wow! What a wonderful review. Thank you, thank you. It was a pleasure having you stay with us. The mansion does have an interesting antebellum history. Come visit again and we will share that and many more stories about our beloved city. You just have to ask (or sometimes we just start talking about those things that interest us most). More

I guess we were anticipating a better restored home. But the beds were very comfortable and the included breakfast was well above average. The location and free parking were huge pluses. The hosts were very helpful.

It troubles us to hear you weren't quite pleased with your recent visit. While we wish you'd have elaborated on your specific issues more, we do understand that an almost 200 year old home has it's own set of complications. Unfortunately, in an effort to keep in line with the historical integrity of the property we aren't afforded the ability... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
