There are not enough superlatives to describe our wonderful week at CHIMES Bed and Breakfast! So happy we decided to stay in this area. Magazine Street alone could get you through a week with its lovely shops and amazing restaurants. Jill & Charles were THE most wonderful host and hostess and GOOD people. A very family-oriented vibe with a leisurely,... More

This is a quaint little B&B right in the middle of the Garden District. Walking distance to both Magazine & St. Charles, so close to shopping or the trolley to get to the Quarter. Great restaurants in walking distance. Delicious breakfast in the morning with fresh baked bread from a local bakery, artisan cheeses, etc. Jill and her family were... More

Me and my three siblings with spouses and kids converged on NOLA for the weekend. The Chimes proved to be an excellent call for us. Located in the Garden District the Chimes provides a quiet escape from the French Quarter after a day of roaming and is conveniently located near Magazine for roaming its' shops and restaurants. Jill is a... More

This is truly and excellent B&B and we had a fabulous time here. The Garden District is a fair bit quieter than the French District, but that suited us. The tram runs from the end of the street and takes about 20mins to get into the main strip, although we enjoyed staying local anyway. Chimes was full of character and... More

Chimes is the perfect place to call home while visiting New Orleans. Charles and Jill are wonderful hosts who know their city. They are so friendly and welcoming you feel as though you've known them for years. Our carriage house rooms were soothing and comfortable with beautiful furnishings and art. The owners of this B and B are sincere in their desire to furnish their guests with the most comfortable stay possible. We have stayed here several times. The other guests have always been most interesting and breakfast here is not only delicious but comes with interesting conversation. Highly recommend!

This is the third time we stayed at the Chimes. I love that it is super close to the St. Charles street car line and all the fun on Magazine Street, and yet is located on a quiet, beautiful, and easily navigated street! Love the breakfasts and the great inside line the hostess provides regarding all the really great things... More

I stayed here for three nights in July 2016. I was in New Orleans for a family visit. Jill's hospitality and offer to help with everything was truly welcoming. My room was tastefully appointed, the breakfasts were quite good, and the sense of community at the breakfast table was lovely. This B&B has an excellent neighborhood location and the street... Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
