Jill and Charles made our stay sooo comfortable and pleasant. They have thought of everything to make it easy to enjoy New Orleans and their B and B. I loved the decor, the beds were comfortable, the self serve fridge, the maps, the breakfasts, the tasteful rooms, and most of all the wonderful morning discussions. I hope that they will... More

Jill was simply an amazing and wonderful hostess! The B&B was everything we were expecting and more. The Breakfast each morning was filling and delicious. Jill was very helpful in planning out our days and the proximity to the street car was great. I plan to stay again on my next trip to New Orleans!

This charming and comfy B&B is located in the gorgeous Garden district just a few blocks from the trolley stop on St. Charles and an easy walk to Magazine Street. The proprietor, Jill, is welcoming, gracious and chock full of information. She oriented us to New Orleans with a marked map for our use while in town. She stocks tickets... More

The pictures really do not do this place justice. Absolutely gorgeous. Jill is amazing!!! She gives such amazing advice for exploring the area as she knows it like the back of her hand. My husband and I really enjoyed our breakfasts in the main kitchen ( even though we are not the most social people) We plan to go back... More

I highly recommend staying at The Chimes. Beautiful scenery, quaint courtyard, cozy and comfortable rooms with all the amenities. I stayed solo and felt very safe. Breakfast was delicious. Jill is a fabulous and wonderful host. She introduced me to a local friend so I got to experience NOLA from the perspective of a local - so much fun!

Chimes Bed and Breakfast is by far the #1 spot to stay in New Orleans! Charles and Jill are amazing hosts and it is just like home to stay at Chimes. The rooms are beautiful and quaint, with super comfortable beds. Jill ventures out each morning to pick up fresh French pastries from the local bakery (which are delicious!) to... More

The Chimes is such a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are lovely and the hosts gracious and extremely helpful. A great place to stay with friends as it has a pretty courtyard for hanging out and visiting. The garden district is lovely and its only a short walk to the streetcar on St Charles.

There are not enough superlatives to describe our wonderful week at CHIMES Bed and Breakfast! So happy we decided to stay in this area. Magazine Street alone could get you through a week with its lovely shops and amazing restaurants. Jill & Charles were THE most wonderful host and hostess and GOOD people. A very family-oriented vibe with a leisurely,... More

This is a quaint little B&B right in the middle of the Garden District. Walking distance to both Magazine & St. Charles, so close to shopping or the trolley to get to the Quarter. Great restaurants in walking distance. Delicious breakfast in the morning with fresh baked bread from a local bakery, artisan cheeses, etc. Jill and her family were... More

Me and my three siblings with spouses and kids converged on NOLA for the weekend. The Chimes proved to be an excellent call for us. Located in the Garden District the Chimes provides a quiet escape from the French Quarter after a day of roaming and is conveniently located near Magazine for roaming its' shops and restaurants. Jill is a... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
