I'm often suspicious of breathless reviews, and Soniat House has plenty of them. But this is an unusual place that deserves all of the praise it receives. It's a charming property, very well-located in the French Quarter -- in a setting that's convenient, but well...More

I am so pleased that you were not disappointed by the Soniat House. It is not an easy atmosphere to maintain but it is the reviews that keep us trying.

A beautiful courtyard, complete with a resident cat (very friendly), and a gracious yet unobtrusive staff. The location is great: far enough from the noise but close enough that you can get to great restaurants. The balconies overlook Chartres and the convent and church.

Claire ( the cat ) really runs the hotel. She does a pretty good job of welcoming the guests to her house. Thank you for your review.

The Soniat House and its staff are simply fantastic. The feeling and experience that one gets when staying here is exactly what a trip to New Orleans and especially the French Quarter should be about. One is surrounded by elegance and charm of a bygone...More

Not very many guests can resist the biscuits. I am glad that you didn't. Please come back soon.

Sonia House is a beautiful hotel. The location is fantastic - in the French Quarter but away from the crazy center of it. I booked one of the superior single rooms - the one I stayed in was right next to the front door. While...More

Thank you for your kind review. The French doors are the original doors from 1830. We couldn't change them if we wanted to do so. It is a shame that the noise is from the other guests entering and leaving. They just don't seem to...More

Visited for Mardi Gras. Romantic, charming and homely. Sympathetically decorated with antique furniture. Fantastic service, could not be improved on. Great central location, very close to all the celebrations and attractions but just far enough away from the heavily populated areas. This is a grown...More
