I was sad to leave the place. The staff was extremely nice, I felt like home there. The room was charming, beautiful old furniture, everything worked well. The breakfast was great and I could do with it till the late afternoon. The place was close to the excitement of the great New Orleans. Thank you!

Long overdue (we stayed there early June), but just wanted to thank the staff at the hotel for an excellent experience. The names I remember are Melissa, Cliff, Janice and (I think) Amey. It was as much their hospitality as anything that made our so enjoyable. See you again some day. Jay and Sharon. :)

My wife and I stayed at the New Orleans Guest House, mostly because of the price and location. We like to try new places and don't mind if the accomodations aren't luxurious. We stayed in the farthest downstairs room, and it's on the courtyard. The room wasn't too bad (for me), but my wife thought it was awful. It could... More

Pros - One block from French Quarter. Property was secured and entrance was by key or front desk letting you in. Price seemed very reasonable. Small off street parking lot but for $20 extra. Front desk very friendly and helpful. Courtyard sitting area nicely decorated. Free WIFI Cons - Room was much smaller then appeared in photo. Three of us... More

I stayed in the New Orleans guest house for a few days. I found a deal on Groupon that I couldn't pass up. I'm glad I chose to stay here. The location is not far from the French market, I would estimate about 6-7 blocks and took me about 10 mins. The B & B has a bright pink exterior... More

Was a pretty reasonable place to stay only a few blocks from bourbon street so that's a plus. Wifi was a little iffy, we didn't have a remote for our tv, there was a broken light bulb in the bathroom and the Ac dropped on the floor. We had the front room with a balcony which was kind of neat... More

When I called they told me my room would be ready but when I arrived we were told it had not been cleaned yet so had to wait 40 minutes. Beds were hard. Pillows were flat. Floors were dirty like they had not been swept. There was not enough cover on the beds. We also found leftover socks underneath a... More

While it needs a little upgrade it is a lovely hotel with the New Orleans flair. We did have to pay an extra $20 to park in their small lot off the street, but not a problem since the price of the room was economical. Comfortable room and bed. The hotel is within walking distance to anywhere in the French... More

Staying in Treme

Neighborhood Profile
Treme
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
