I have been here since Friday, and so far, the heating problems, along with water issues, are the main problems at this hotel. The hallways are freezing cold, and to enjoy a drink or meal at the lobby bar/resto, you will need a heavy jacket. Only once so far, have we been able to socialize at the bar where the...

JW is at this location just the right size, Not gigantic like some of the other high rise monstrosities and not so small that it lacks the right amenities. Good Room / Corner Room / during the week days no noise but Friday night there was some noise through the night, but it is probably the location. Gym is very...

We were a little concerned at first that we were not "in the quarter" but it was a great hotel,a bit expensive for breakfast, nice wine bar,. They gave us big umbrellas to walk around as it was pouring rain.

The hotel was in a central location and the staff members were friendly. We requested a river view from our high floor; however, our Mississippi River view was blocked by another Marriott that was closer to the river. So, we stayed in a Marriott and looked out at another Marriott. What a deal breaker! Our activities were mostly at the...

I guess when I stay in a Marriot, I expect more. I thought the room was overpriced for what we got. It did not help that there were construction workers outside our window the first 2 hours were were there. They probably should have put us in a different room. There was a lot of construction. I hope they are...

Very close to Bourbon Street. Extremely nice staff. There is valet parking. People open doors for you. All the staff greets you whether in passing or helping you. We've stayed here before, and we like it. It's conveniently located, the staff is friendly and the rooms are nice. I wish the doors kept more noise out (I rolled up a towel and placed it in the gap- you could hear everyone talking in the halls), and the beds could be a bit more comfortable, but we'll be back.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
