Overall, we loved the Lafitte Guest House! Super quaint room with a private balcony overlooking Bourbon St! Great location!! Right across from the Lafitte Blacksmith Shop bar. Can't beat bloody mary's on our private patio in the morning!! Front desk was accommodating for the most part. Had a small hiccup at checkout with getting our car out of the parking... More

My lovely wife and I were married in New Orleans. We have been annually going back ever since. Our last 2 visits have been the best and both times we stayed at Lefitte Guest House. You can feel the history of this town and specifically the Guest house atmosphere. Although at one time this was a mansion, it holds a... More

Park for good and walk to everything! The market, the quarter, Cafe Du Monde, the levey, trolly access....it's all right there with easy access. Although we live withing 40 minutes, I researched other similar facilities (B&B's) but none came close to the Lafitte House in value, location and quality.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights on our honeymoon. The location was extremely convenient and we walked everywhere. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The house was decorated well, and we appreciated the authenticity of it. We would stay there again, for sure.

There is no need for an alarm clock because the when you stay here the smells of breakfast slowly alert your senses that you are in a special place. We had a room with a balcony that overlooked Burbon Street and that is where I stared and ended each day.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. My sister and I stayed for four nights this past week and did not want to leave. Room 40 is bigger than my apartment. The staff is top notch. Billy and Jeremiah are the best. We felt like part of their family. I travel to New Orleans four times a year... More

We stay here for the French Quarter Festival every year, and it was perfect as always! They treat you like family and you are always happy to be there. The art and furnishings make the experience that much better and the beds are so comfortable!

My wife and I stayed here for two nights after a cruise and had never been to New Orleans before. For first-timers, this place is perfect. Located a few blocks from the craziness (but next door to an awesome, lively bar) this house is in an excellent location. Although check-in time is at 4pm, we called earlier in the morning... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
