Some friends and I stayed here last weekend. Friendly staff upon arrival. Clean rooms with nice TV. Good price for location. Close to middle of quarter. Would recommend and will look to stay here again next visit.

Loved this place. Get there early for complimentary parking, but be warned that it is not right next to the hotel, it's a few blocks away. That was the only drawback to what was, for us, a great stay. This is an older hotel with a lot of character and charm with a fun spirit. The front desk has a... More

I've enjoyed the Convento about a dozen times, and have reservations for 2 more visits coming up. Perfect location for me and mine, great staff, quirky rooms, and very fair prices. The Convento may not be fancy or modern, but it is full of charm, and you will feel more connected to the Quarter than you would feel in a... More

We stayed in a King half balcony room overlooking Ursuline Street. The room was clean, and cool with a nice modern TV and a small balcony. This place is perfect for someone who is going to go out and experience the French Quarter and then come home and sleep it off only to do it again the next day. There... More

Overall, really enjoyed the stay. The location was great. Just a few blocks from the most 'happening areas' of the French Quarter. Great bakery across the street. Friendly/helpful staff. Enjoyed the front balcony. Would be 5 stars, but the room was a bit shabby for the price and not quite as clean as you would hope for. So very good... More

This was our third year staying at Hotel Villa Convento during our yearly NOLA vacay. This hotel has the best staff- hands down. Family atmosphere and they always remember you. The hotel is such a great price and it's located in the heart of the French Quarter. We park our car and walk or take the street car to all... More

This little hotel tucked away on Ursulines St. has not had a ton of updates so, if you're looking for crisp and new, this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for an affordable hotel with a truly vintage feel and a staff that makes you feels right at home, then this is it! We were specifically... More

I very much enjoyed my stay here. The staff were wonderful, funny, and always helpful. The haunted stories were fantastic and I have one of my own now. Directly across the street is a divine french pastry shop with the best coffee in New Orleans. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review is I do not... More

everything you could want haunted ,friendly staff, old bordello they say house of the rising sun .If you picky and a winy baby stay in meatier don't come down to the quarter and complain , jerks. The door knocking the old lift named grandma , the freaked out guest laughing and telling each other our stories in the courtyard, this... More

Stayed here for 2 nights, nice little hotel, clean and tidy and friendly staff. Only let down by the parking situation, however I think that's the case for the whole French quarter! Interesting history to the place and a great location. Would recommend.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
