Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The InterContinental New Orleans receives a mix of feedback, with its prime location near the French Quarter often earning praise from guests for convenience. However, opinions on service are split, as some commend the professionalism while others have faced rudeness. Although the rooms are appreciated for their size and comfort, complaints about inadequate lighting, noise disturbances, and dated decor are not uncommon. While the hotel's New Orleans charm is noted, the value proposition is questioned due to unexpected fees and pricey amenities. Additionally, cleanliness generally meets standards, but noise levels can detract from the experience.

Food was terrible at catered business events. Orange juice was spoiled- pointed out to staff, but they did nothing. Meat was overcooked. Eggs were overcooked. Fire alarm pulled at 2 am, 2 nights in a row, and staff provided no guidance once we were downstairs as to what was happening and when the event was over. We had to wander through the back halls of the hotel to find our way back to the guest area. Rooms have dated furniture with peeling fabric on chairs. Desk chair was too short. Lights in the room were all inadequate and you had to turn on 6 lights to have enough illumination to see anything. I would not go there again.

This hotel was perfectly located and provided everything we needed. The employees were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the day we left. The room had a very comfortable bed and bedding. It also had nice amenities including access to toiletries that you may have left behind, mini fridge with snacks & drinks available for purchase and a Keurig coffee maker with coffee. The location was perfect. We walked to the French Quarter and to the Caesar’s Superdome to watch a Saints game. There are restaurants available every direction you turn. Highly recommend.

The InterContinental New Orleans is the hotel to stay at when visiting New Orleans! It was the perfect location for the parades, as the parade route is right in front of the hotel on St. Charles. You can buy tickets to the stands outside of the hotel for the parades to avoid the crowds, definitely recommend. The hotel is just a few minute walk to Bourbon, Jackson Square, Café Du Monde, Harrah's Casino (Caesars), the Street Car and many other local attractions. The room was spacious and had a nice balcony to relax on. We had food at Trenasse, it did not disappoint. The Po' Boys were huge and tasted great! All the staff was amazing and welcoming from the moment we arrived until we departed.

We got an Uber from MSY airport, which takes 20 mins to the hotel. The app said $39 but beware fees were added after the journey and totalled $50! We had a Classic room on the top floor, 28 sqm, breakfast is 6.30-10.30 at Pete’s on the ground floor lobby level, we pre-paid total £20 ($25) per morning for breakfast for 2, which was better that $30 each at the hotel, irrespective however you are charged an extra $18 per morning for tax & gratuity when you get there! There is wifi in the room, air con, a Keurig coffee/tea maker (you can ask for extra coffee / creamer / etc at reception), no glasses are provided in the room, there is a mini bar (example: a large bottle of water is $10!), but you are not allowed to move any items out of the fridge to put any of your own items in which is an issue, there is an ice machine on each floor, lots of drawer & clothes hanging space, shower, robes, toiletries, hairdryer. You will hear the streetcars in rooms at any level. Happy hours in the bars inside the hotel at Pete’s is 4.00-6.00 and in Trenasse 3.00-6.00. The hotel is located in close walking distance to the French Quarter, Canal Street, etc. The best place to change cash currency is at Harrah’s casino (at the M river end of Canal St).

Convention staff and food were wonderful! Too bad IHG is so greedy they won't even allow you to put anything in the mini fridge. It is packed with their own items for sale that are on sensors with instructions not to move anything or risk being charged! Seriously? Clearly, making $$ is more important than making customers happy. Rooms are nice, but pillows are 8" high with no give. I could feel the pieces of foam rubber. I could also hear the person snoring in the adjoining room, but people who did not have an adjoining room said they did not have that problem. Even if I attend another convention in this hotel, I will stay elsewhere. Unless you need to be in this exact location, go to Hotel St. Marie!

I give it a 3.5/5. Everything was great except that there’s no fridge or microwave in the room. They can afford space for a snack bar and a minibar, but not a microwave or fridge for people traveling. So you better eat your leftovers or they will go bad. There’s also no microwave downstairs in the lobby so you get to enjoy your leftovers cold. I guess that’s what $600 gets you these days.

Great hotel location for all of the Mardi Gras action. Several parades cross directly in front of the hotel, doesn’t get any easier. Bandstands seats available for purchase. Those were slightly oversold, but very helpful for my elderly mom to have a view/seat. The facility was clean and secure despite the crowds outside. Gym was large and better than average. Lobby restaurant, Trenasse, was one of our favorite meals. “Included” breakfast is charged (with automatic tip) then credited back later, but not the forced tip. Kind of weird. Free breakfast for two ends up costing you $22. Not bad, but strange. Loved that they have room service and a minibar, hard to find these days. Walking distance to French Quarter. Cemeteries are walkable, but farther. Overall, great service from all of the staff we interacted with.

Great location, easy to walk everywhere from here. Starbucks right there. Both restaurants on site have excellent staff and decent food. The room service food was super tasty and even better than the on site restaurants. We stayed nine nights and the housekeeping was hit or miss - sometimes they forgot to leave us clean washcloths but they took the dirty ones so we had no cloths; there was also crumbs in the ice bin and surfaces needed wiped when I checked in. Noise levels are high - both from the street and the hall. Overall I would say the value for money on this hotel is 3 out of 5.
