The Intercontinental New Orleans Hotel has a chronic and toxic atmosphere that management surely must be aware of. The treatment we experienced was deplorable and inexcusable. The worst we have experienced in a decade of travel. 1.We checked in on 8/25. We arrived at the hotel a little after midnight and was greeted by a dark front desk with no staff readily on hand. We ventured to the left of the desk and noticed three men: one in front of the snack shop, one at the concierge desk and another on the side. They were chatting and we had to get their attention to check into the hotel. One of them got up and proceeded to check us in. No, “hello welcome to the Intercontinental” no eye contact no smile. We got our room keys and went to our room. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and shrugged it off. Here's the main reason for our complaint. a. When we checked into the room, a bottle of water was available for sale. We decided we would drink it. It was evident that the bottle was tampered with as the cap was not sealed and twisted off easily. b. There were no suitcase stands. We were assured that stands would be delivered in the morning. The stand never arrived, so we ended up putting suitcases on the desk and coffee table. c. Saturday morning, we woke up to a leaking toilet. d. We informed the housekeeper however, we quickly realized she couldn’t understand English. That being the case, we reported the leak to the concierge who assured us she would inform the engineer. e. After a day touring the town we returned to our room to a toilet that was shut down and not working. No note or message. f. At approximately 9:55 pm, we called guest services to report this issue. She said she would inform the engineer. There was no call, no follow up. g. At approximately 10:25 pm, once again, we called guest services and spoke to Dee. She said she would call the engineer. At that time, I asked if the toilet cannot be repaired that evening, could we please move to a room with a working toilet. Her response, “Let’s send the engineers up there to look at the problem first”. No one came to address the problem; no follow-up call from guest services. In the meantime, we resorted to using the lobby restrooms. h. The next morning, we addressed this issue with another housekeeper who again, said she would address this problem with the engineers. i. We went out to tour the city and returned to the hotel to find our room keys were turned off. Went down to the lobby and spoke to a person at the concierge desk. She immediately restored my husband’s key card, and we were able to access the room. She did require my wife to provide an ID to get her card turned back on. By the way, the toilet was still not fixed. My husband turned a knob to the toilet which made it work however, it was still leaking. At this point, we felt it was no sense to report the malfunction and used our towels to prevent the leak from seeping into the room. We always had the impression Intercontinental Hotels were an above average hospitality group but after dealing with this issue, we were extremely disappointed. Their only selling point was the staff in their café. They were courteous, professional and a welcome refuge from the rest of the hotel. …

Hotel's Favorite
This hotel was perfectly located and provided everything we needed. The employees were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived to the day we left. The room had a very comfortable bed and bedding. It also had nice amenities including access to toiletries that you may have left behind, mini fridge with snacks & drinks available for purchase and a Keurig coffee maker with coffee. The location was perfect. We walked to the French Quarter and to the Caesar’s Superdome to watch a Saints game. There are restaurants available every direction you turn. Highly recommend.

We had a large men's group stay for 3 nights and if any of them say anything negative they are completely wrong and I would toss them from our group. Hotel Is so comfortable, in a great spot, service is super. Staff just were fun to deal with. Never really saw the room staff but our rooms were done every day and done well. Should say the staff that helped with arrangements... Andrew , Jennifer, and.. I'm sorry the businesses person...made things so much easier... but if you are coming to NO it's a terrific place to stay. I should mention I've been to NO 6 times or so.

The hotel's location was very good to be near things in New Orleans. The rooms are comfy, but dated. The restaurants are okay. The bar service was awful....you shouldn't have to wait 20 minutes for anyone to come to even take your order! We left after placing our drink order and waiting another 20 minutes!

The staffs is super nice and professional. The rooms are cleans and very cozy. The buffet breakfast is delicious: they even have creole beignets. Needless to say, the pool on the roof os the cherry on the top of the cake we had a long day walk. In addition, this location is close by the French Quater.

Stayed for 2 nights 23-24 August. Well appointed and comfortable place to enjoy New Orleans - modest walk to the better parts of the French quarter. Have to acknowledge the concierge Adan who provided some excellent advice on what to do and see. Definitely a credit to the hotel. Also a big thank you to Oswald on the driveway. Extra helpful and very friendly. These two staff members made our stay so much more enjoyable.

I am never disappointed with this brand of hotel. From the second you pull up their staff is incredible. The front desk staff were also fabulous. The rooms are very nice. The restaurant on the main level was INCREDIBLE. Highly recommend. Location is good. Housekeeping noticed we had some beers and left us a nice note and a styrofoam cooler completely on their own. We did not ask but it was super appreciated. There is a fridge in the room but it’s a minibar and you can’t put your own stuff in it. We had an issue with our key cards and the front desk lady cleared it up in seconds and even got us bottles of water (again, not asked for she just did it). I would return for sure. The people who work here are a delight.

Older well maintained property. More of a classic style but very comfortable. However, the staff are unrivaled - they can’t do enough for you. As a Platinum member, they offered me free breakfast buffet every day (unexpected but highly appreciated), but they also had a fruit plate, snacks and 2 bottles of Fuji water sent to my room upon arrival and another plate during my stay (still here). The breakfast servers are all amazing and have a welcome smile every day, and front desk and concierge staff are also outstanding. Very impressive.

Overall, a great experience. The hotel exceeded my expectations. The room was a tiny bit dated but was very clean and the service was excellent. The location was perfect. It's close enough to the Quarter to be able to get there easily yet is far enough to not be in the craziness.
