Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

I had made a previous trip to New Orleans and it was ok, but I made a return to the city and everything was perfect! The Hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. From the overall location and amenities you can’t go wrong!

Dear Jason M, Thank you very much for the review of our hotel. We appreciate that you took the time to write about your experience and the great service provided by our team. We hope that you had a chance to try our signature restaurant Trenasse - it features local rustic Louisiana fare. Of course, we have Pete's - which features beef from a local sustainable farm and an award winning gumbo. Please tell your friends about your stay and come back to visit very soon. We want to have another chance to earn that last star. John Romano

I'm not sure where to begin. I'm already missing this hotel and its seemingly endless representation of New Orleans. CHECK-IN Fast, easy and pleasantly surprised to arrive early and have a room ready. The agent at the front desk was wonderful. ROOM Extremely clean, comfortable (the bed and pillows were so nice) and quiet in suite 1406 at the center of the hall. Great seating area in living room, comfortable bed, nice size bathroom, electronics were easy to use with plenty of outlets, and my favorite area, the huge balcony. DRINKS AND DINING Several good options on site, if you can afford the pricey drinks and food. Head down to the bar for a drink, or something by the pool. We had in-room dining for breakfast that was quite pricey, but pretty good. FITNESS CENTER Huge! And a great variety of machines and free weights. VIEWS Oh, Did I mention the amazing views?! LOCAL AREA I loved having a direct cut to the French Quarters, CBD, or anything else nearby. Getting to Canal street was so convenient and about a 5-minute walk away. SAFETY AND SECURITY I appreciated the many visible security and concierge personnel on-site, especially at night. They were all so helpful and courteous. My fiance and I stayed here to celebrate his birthday and would stay here again upon our return. Loved this hotel!

Having spent the previous two days in a hotel overlooking Niagara Falls, it was going to be a tough act to follow for any hotel in New Orleans. Unfortunately, the Intercontinental (one of my favourite hotel chains) failed to get close. The room and bathroom were adequate and clean but it felt like the cleaning staff had insufficient time to spend making sure that dirty glasses and cups were replaced and that complimentary tea, coffee, cream and sugar and toiletries were restocked. Although relatively minor inconveniences, this attention to detail is what separates the great hotels from the herd.

The Intercontinental New Orleans is one of the best IC locations I’ve stayed at. And it’s actually a reasonable price point. Beautiful room, nice staff, good location in the city. I’d recommend staying here.

Normally I am hesitant to take the time to write a review. But our stay this past week at the Intercontinental was just so comfortable. We had the pleasure of meeting Sam Grosser would really made sure our stay was top notch. As veteran travelers, we have had made experiences at hotels....good and bad. What we liked in particular about this hotel was its cleanliness, extremely comfortable beds, its FANTASTIC BAR, and its proximity to so many things to see with in easy walking distance. (The hotel is in the French Quarter itself with so many things to see). Sam, thank you again for your wonder NOLA hospitality. BTW, the valet staff were great in grabbing a taxi for you when you did decide to go beyond walking distance. Such polite folks!
