We arrived about an hour after check-in and were told our room wasn't ready. After waiting over a half-hour we told them we wanted to cancel our reservation and we would find somewhere else to stay. Amazingly, our room was ready. Another lady in the lobby had been waiting for her room for over an hour. Once we got to... More

I absolutely loved the look and feel of this hotel! From the front Lobby to our room....everything was wonderful and felt amazing strolling hand in hand with my new Husband in my beautiful Wedding gown.... only to walk into our room and find that the staff had not done anything special to welcome our arrival... What a disappointment. I guess... More

Had a marvelous time at this hotel! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. W stayed 3 nights. The hotel restaurant is a bit pricey though. We didn't try the bar...will try it next stay.

Room was the size of a small house bed was very comfortable and al the staff absolutely fantastic . Ready to help . It is within easy walking distance of Bourbon street and the French quarter. The Tram stop is right out the front. Only about 20 min from the airport.

Check my reviews: I never leave such few stars. But this was absolutely not worth the price we paid. Horrible service, and grossly overpriced. And our experience was so out of whack with the reviews here. PARKING: Total disaster. They told us we needed to call ahead 40 minutes for our car. One hour and a half later, we were... More

Don't be fooled by the location. While it is away from the French Quarter, you will find a short walk to almost everything. I really can't find anything to complain about; check in, room, housekeeping, Trenasse bar, and even the rate was great (check our Sam's warehouse website if you are a member) well below other comparable and non-comparable hotels.... The Intercontinental is conveniently located to all of the attractions that I had planned on visiting and some others that I hadn't. The pricing was reasonable, the amenities were excellent (gym, pool, restaurants and bars) My only critique is no refrigerator or microwave in my particular room which is rather inconvenient when you're on a top floor. Overall the staff... More

Another fantastic visit to the Intercontinental New Orleans with 17 family members in 6 rooms. Check in was fast and bags delivered quickly by a welcoming and helpful staff. Our rooms were spotless and very comfortable...right down to the luxurious sheets and really enjoyed the new line of soap products in the bathrooms. One of our rooms was a king... More

Being in NO for the first time I tried to stay at least three different hotels to find the one to advertise the brand for my Travel service business. Loved everything about the hotel but it's only valet parking at an extortionate $42 per night. This seemed to be high even by New Orleans standards and at almost 30% of what we paid for the room added significantly to the cost of our stay which was not expected. Only other minor criticism is that there was no complimentary water,... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
