With noticeably comfortable beds, pleasant towels and platy of hot water in nice bathrooms it sounds an ideal place. Unfortunately, poor air quality (cigarette smoke ruminants, mildew, and excess of air freshener mix), coupled with dirty carpets and dusty panels made my stay one of the worst. My breathing system became so irate that I had to seek medical help....

For the most part, this hotel was average. The negative is the poor room insulation. I could hear the neighbors conversations. Not muffled but very clear. Room was decorated nice and updated. The bath area was above average. Lots of space to allow us to get ready in the morning. Excellent staff and great front desk service.

While I travel a great deal, I don't often write "reviews". But my experience at the Intercontinental Hotel in New Orleans has been so phenomenal, that I want to share it with everyone. Hotels are only as good as their people and one of the managers at the Intercontinental is the extraordinary Salman Chaudhry. Salman actually first came on my...

We stayed at the Intercontinental during a recent business trip. This was my first time to New Orleans and what a perfect place to stay. The accommodations were absolutely top notch and I can't compliment the staff on how friendly and professional they were. The rooms were well appointed and spacious and the bed was one of the best that...

We stayed two nights, during a conference. We were pleased with the conditions of the hotel. The rooms were very nice. Staff was friendly, and meetings rooms were very accommodating. The hotel is priced over our normal budget, but, I would guess is comparable to other facilities that are of equal quality, and service.

Stayed at this hotel over March Break while attending a wedding. Hotel was nice, staff were friendly and accommodating - just found it very overpriced. I have stayed in many hotels of the same quality for less. Rooms were clean, average size. We did get a very nice balcony, which was very welcome. WIFI was really useless - they say...

Good location- close enough to Bourbon and Canal to walk (but pretty quiet), and there is a street car stop across the street. Harrah's and the Riverwalk are about a 10 min. walk. Drinks in the lobby bar are a little pricey but good and there are a few small bars/restaurants right down the street. The room was a decent...

The hotel was excellent as was the staff. They let me park my beloved Harley Davidson in front of the hotel in the valet area where it was easy to access. The ONLY hotel in the area that would do that! Our room was fantastic, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was walking distance to the French...

Spent a week at the Intercontinental. Came to NOLA for sightseeing and an Out-patient surgical procedure. Our room wasn't ready when we tried to check-in so Salman, the Day Manager, made sure we had wine, a place to sit and extended the courtesy of a restaurant credit. He made sure I had extra pillows after the procedure and Anita, from...

The Lobby and amenities are nice, and this review is more a reflection of the housekeeping and front desk staff than anything. The rooms are a bit tired and beaten up, but again, generally nice. The shower handle housing was not fixed to the wall, but hot water is the main goal there and there was plenty of that. The...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
