A family wedding in one of banquet rooms. Wow is all I can say. Food was good, great service by all waitstaff, the band was outstanding, and the wedding was wonderful. The gorgeous chandeliers and huge NOLA flowers in lobby were lovely. It was clean and easy to access as well.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful!! We went for New Year's Eve. The hotel lobby's Christmas decorations were amazing. The bellmen uniforms reminding me of the hotel and staff on Home Alone. lol. Overall experience was nothing less than perfect!

We recently stayed in NYC and now New Orleans, both times in Waldorf Astoria. We were treated like royalty and in both locations loved the hotel lobbies, rooms and dining experiences. We were upgraded in both locations as we are Hilton Honors members. Rooms and bathrooms were large and luxurious!

The Roosevelt outdid itself. This hotel is so glamorous, especially during the Christmas season. The traffic was horrendous, especially considering the rain. The valet and doormen quickly and efficiently assisted us and our check-in was warm and efficient. Our room on the 11th floor had a lovely view and was very spacious. With a separate sleeping area with two queen...

What a spectacular entrance to this hotel! The Christmas trees and lights flooded the foyer of the hotel and consequently people flocked to see the amazing sights. Unfortunately negotiating one's way through the crowds was not so pleasant. Check in was slow and I had to carry my luggage to my room (21019). Fortunately my suite was fabulous. It was...

We stayed here for four nights right before Christmas. The decorations are beautiful. Our room was very nice but our refrigerator never worked-opened. We asked several times but it was not fixed. Also, the TV reception was sporadic. The TV would just go out like there was a bad satellite connection. The location was great, we walked to almost everything.

Our stay was over the New Years Eve/Sugar Bowl week. 3 nights. The lobby was still decorated in the Christmas theme. It was spectacular. And the aroma from the live trees they used makes it even better. Are room was clean, the bathroom was a decent size, and the bed was 1 of the most comfortable we've ever slept on....

We had a nice upgrade to the Astoria Suite for my wife's 60th birthday. It was a great suite with around 1000 square feet. The room had marble floors and wool carpet. I stayed here in December and was awestruck by the holiday decorations and festive atmosphere. The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff are fantastic! Just remember that during the holidays the main lobby can get busy with locals visiting to see the decorations and take photos. Overall, this is a great old world first class hotel.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
