For as much as the lobby at times is teeming with activity when you go upstarts to your room it's quite. Staff is always friendly and helpful. You're in NOLA and the Roosevelt is a long time fixture and a great Hotel. For Christmas The Roosevelt is a sight to behold. Walk through the lobby even if you don't stay...

This is a lovely, busy, busy, busy hotel. It was all decorated up for Christmas; so beautiful, smelled wonderful. We arrived on a Wednesday unaware that one of the largest conventions of the year was in full swing, many of the top executives were staying at our hotel. Check-in was a frustrating mess to say the least. I have the...

Great hotel in New Orleans! We're here two weeks before Christmas, and the holiday decorations are unbelievable! Great location just outside of the quarter. Fantastic hotel rooms as well. Very large and spacious with a walk in closet, his and her robes, very nice room!

The best hotel lobby decorations anywhere! Dozens of flocked trees, thousands of lights - hard to beat! Have a old fashion or Sazerac in the bar and stroll and go to Dominica for the best pizza ever. Saenger Theater across the street. Rooms recently redone. Maybe the best hotel in New Orleans.

Located at the corner of Baronne and Canal, so we easily made the obligatory trek down the annoying hassle that is Bourbon St. After that, there are so many wonderful bars and restaurants slightly off and around in the French Quarter that we were truly amazed at the diversity and quality of food and music in the area. Outstanding holiday!...

This is the best hotel to visit during the Christmas season! They go all out on the decorations! Beautiful Christmas music as well! My only complaint is that Wifi should be free for the price you are paying. Also, the food and drinks are very very expensive. Eggs, toast, bacon=$25. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny!

Even if you are not staying at the Roosevelt, make a trip to see the lobby at Christmas. The decorations were the prettiest in New Orleans. So many decorated trees, I didn't even count them. They are real too, you smell them as you walk through. Stop in the bar for a cocktail, it's beautiful too, year round.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
