The type of room we had was a King Suite on the 13th floor. So our view was pretty amazing. We did receive an upgraded room for a standard price because I am a silver Hilton Honors member. We took a cab from the airport to The Roosevelt and as we rolled up the door man came and opened our...

The Roosevelt is a lovely hotel. It's staff are always friendly, courteous, and willing to help in any way they can. The accomodations in my opinion are the best available in all of New Orleans. It's conveniently located just across Canal St. from the French Quarter in a quieter area. There's no street noise in the room, and the rooftop...

We stayed one night on our way back to Texas from Florida. The hotel is awesome and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The ONLY negative to the hotel was the $44 plus tax parking per night. Will definitely stay there our next time in NO.

From the very start I was unimpressed with the staff in such a charming historic hotel. It all revolved around a very poorly run front desk. I took my issues to the GM and feel like my concerns were a priority for him, I received a free stay so I hope to give a revised review soon. The hotel itself is...

This is a wonderful property, opulent foyer, nicely appointed rooms and definitely creates a good impression when you walk in. Unfortunately for me that is where the five star experience ended. Unless you book through the Hilton website (with so many travel intermediaries this is not unusual nowadays) you are unable to qualify for free WiFi and are left either...

My wife and I spent three nights at The Roosevelt in July. This is a grand establishment, with the charm and grace of a bygone era. But within the context of 5 star, premium hotels, it's lacking. I expected more from a Waldorf Astoria flagship property. Service at the Sazerac bar was lacklustre. The drinks selection and quality so-so. In...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
