My BF and I recently visited the Roosevelt in New Orleans for a short stay. It was my first time there. I normally don't to reviews but I felt compelled to. First impression of the place: clean, nice , older building with a lot of character.......very nice Guest services was very kind while we checked in. Everything was clearly explained and check in was very smooth. I'm a hotel connusiouer so I don't mind spending the money on a hotel becasue I'm very picky, and I love quality. For those reasons I pay attention to details Pros: room was very clean, we had everything we needed Customer service was great whenever we called (front desk) is truly 24 hours a day. I highlight this because some high end hotels highlight 24 hour/day customer service but when you call late no one answers. You can stay in the hotel without leaving because there are 2 restaurants there that are really good. Also if you have a platinum amx and are a gold HH member, you get lots of perks....such as credit towards dining which is nice. It also has a very nice spa. Something extra to do to relax. I enjoyed my massage a lot Housekeeping was on point. Very attentive, paid attention to details and sanitized very well and to me that's remarkable because I think that's a very important part of hospitality that needs attention but most often don't get the attention it deserves and with covid , I can appreciate the extra effort. This is what people pay for Cons: Room was a bit tight .....tighter than what I'm used to, I was on the 23th floor and hotel has 24 floors so maybe it was just my room, not sure. Also if you are sensitive to noise, definitely make sure you are not facing the street. Unfortunately for me, my view was towards the street and although I was on the 13th floor, I'd often hear cars passing, honking, people talking which seemed to keep me up at times. Now this is also in the middle of downtown and downtown is pretty busy so I guess that was part of the problem. There is no microwave in the room and the fridge is very tiny. Well half of it has drinks that are for sale and the other half can barely fit anything meaning , if you go out to eat, you must finish everything because there will be no space to store your food nor heat it. Most high end hotels are that way though but the only problem is, if you are staying for a long time, you may get tired of eating hotel food no matter how good it is and will like to get something from elsewhere and be able to store the rest especially if you don't eat much. This brings me to my next and final not so great experience that ruined my stay. On my 4th day, I was tired of eating from the restaurant in the hotel so I had a friend bring me some seafood and a frozen drink( something the hotel doesn't serve) We went to the pool to eat and relax. It was quite busy. Everybody was eating drinking and doing thier thing .Well a pool guy came to us immediately and said I couldn't eat or drink anything that's not purchased from the hotel( first time ever hearing that) . Mind you this is day 3 or 4 for me, I just wanted something different . Long story short, this guy was rude about not letting me stay at the pool if I was going to continue to eat and drink my frozen drink that was in a plastic cup. I have never had this experience Before. Been treated this way . He literally gave me an ultimatum. Mind you the day before, there was a couple at the pool drinking a bottle of wine that they brought from home. Although it states no glass or bottles at the pool for obvious reasons, yet this pool guy let it slide And on the day that he treated badly and was rude and pretty much gave me an ultimatum, yet again, another couple infront if me smoking cigarette. Again, this is a tobacco free property so it just made me realize his behavior towards me was intentional . Now I'm not the one to say a problem experienced is due to race but the other 2 ppl who " equally broke the rules " weren't pestered and were allowed to do whatever. They were Caucasians so let me just say, although my initial experience was great, been treated that way on my last day ruined it for me. I want to be treated with respect and dignity as I do others and most importantly, if you plan to enforce rules, let it apply to everyone not just select . Due to this, I will not , and refuse to stay at this hotel ever again When you pay good money to stay at a nice hotel, you expect dignity and fairness at the very least . They have lost a customer for life. Next time I come to New Orleans, I will take my money across the street to the Ritz Carlton or wherever I choose. Definitely not at the roosevelt. I do not need that kind of discrimination, it is 2021 for God's sake 🙄 I cannot brag enough about

Hotel's Favorite
This hotel and the staff are exactly what you expect from a Waldorf Astoria hotel - beautiful, clean, and top shelf decor in the room; and every staff member makes you feel welcomed and appreciated. Jasmine took a lot of time to point us in the right direction for restaurants in the hotel and in the French Quarter. She also pointed us in the right direction for some great Jazz. A couple of blocks from Bourbon St, so quiet when you want a break from the revelry, and still close enough to make it easy to walk to Cafe Du Monde, The Jazz Museum, Bourbon St, and everything else in The French Quarter. This is a great hotel and I recommend staying here.

We enjoyed our stay at the Roosevelt so much! Very pleased with cleanliness and precautions being taken. We experienced each meal and were delighted that most everything was up and running including room service. Superior room was spacious and location was a quick walk to French Quarter. We will definitely be back.

The level of service we received at this hotel was outstanding! The front desk staff was very helpful and informative. The food and beverage staff are SUPERSTARS (Conroy in particular - so friendly and helpful - he really made our visit wonderful). The ONLY thing I wish was different was the fact that breakfast is not served in the restaurant on Monday and Tuesday. They serve the same menu in the coffee shop, but there was one person behind the counter trying to serve everyone, so it’s not the same as a full-service restaurant. This is not a fault of this hotel - I am certain this is due to a severe lack of workers in NOLA. So many service professionals have either moved or moved-on to other work during the pandemic, that even top-notch properties like this one are having difficulty finding humans that are willing and able to work. My husband and I will continue to be patient guests during this transition process ... because we are just happy to be TRAVELING again!

We visited 3 nights in April. Having booked through an Amex travel program plus being Gold members, we were entitled to free breakfast plus some add'l credits. We ended up getting charged for 2 of the 3 breakfasts. After a visit to the front desk and 2 additional calls since I've been home, it's still not right. I called again last week and was transferred to the voicemail of someone in finance/sales where I did leave a message. And they never called back. It's not a lot of $$$. But that's not the point. The bill should be right. And if it's not, it shouldn't be THIS HARD to get it fixed.

Dear kcornett1974 We hate hearing this. We never want the lasting opinion of the hotel to be based on a billing error. We pride ourselves on great service and bill accuracy is one of those tenets we hold dear. Would you mind sending us a phone number to call if this has not been resolved? I will ensure someone calls you back and gets to the bottom of this. The Staff at the Roosevelt
