We wanted to stay in the FrenchQuarter near Bourbon Street and Dauphine Orleans fit the bill. Great location, folks where friendly and we had a balcony! Super! Caution, it is very near Bourbon street, so it can get noisy, if you want a Quiet Hotel, you may want to choose a different hotel. WE loved it, but were woken a...

Very satisfied. Perfect location and we'll maintained. Will stay here again. Friendly and helpful staff, quick to please. Location couldn't have been any better. Short walk to the action, buy far enough away to escape when you're ready.

The service elevator below our room, 313, would begin operating at 5am waking us up by the pounding of heavy metal to concrete each of the first two morning we were there. On the third day we got to sleep in until 7 am when it started again. Our room was "cleaned" the 3rd and final night of our stay....

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at the Dauphine. Conveniently located and most impressed with the front desk staff!! We were allowed to park our car there while we waited for our room to be ready and they were helpful with directions and recommendations for tours and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel has loads of old New Orleans charm and couldn't be in a better location in the French quarter. It's on a one-way street, so there's not a lot of traffic passing by. Our room was across the street from the office - the Herman House, I think. We were on the ground floor and the only reason I...

Loved our room and its location on the property. We had 4 rooms in what I would call a private little cove. The property is close to bourbon street which was really convenient. We could go explore and meet back at the lounge for a potty break and a drink. The lounge was awesome and the service was excellent. I...

A great hotel for the French Quarter ambiance. This hotel is a great option if you are staying the the FQ. But don't stay in the FQ if you want to sleep. The party goes on all night, literally. Parades, music, people yelling. And there is little sound insulation in these old buildings. That being said, the property is magical...

We liked the area this hotel was in. Close to everything yet still very quiet in the evenings. They provide a breakfast that is decent with eggs, sausage, fruit, cereal, waffle maker, different breads, juice and milk plus coffee. We were not provided the guest robes as advertised but that was not a deal breaker! Our suite was large with...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
