When we got there, we were given a room At Dauphine Orleans next to the elevator which was very noisy. Elaine was such a gem. She transferred us to a room across the street at Herman House. Nice, quiet, clean room. 2 things I didn't like: 1) It seems that the hotel owners didn't renew their cable contract so aside from the shopping channels the screen is mostly blurred for the other channels. 2) You have to be careful in the bathtub since it is very slippery. Other than that I would recommend it.
This was our first stay at this hotel - very nice great friendly staff ! I would give it a 4 star. The only thing keeping me from a 5 is the proximity to bourbon st which depending on your type of vacation could be plus or minus. Bit loud and busy street- to be expected. Great people watching from the street balcony. And for a French quarter hotel - pretty clean. Could use a few touches here and there with cleanliness- minor updates but I would deff stay again. I would recommend.
When we arrived the room We were given just seemed like to hand been prepped properly. It was missing amenities like a hair dryer and so on and it just looked a little Ropey. We were moved rooms and our new room was an improvement. Nothing to write home about, but it was cleaner and a lot quieter that being by the lift. The staff were really friendly so that was a big bonus and the location is great.
We had a wonderful experience staring at the Dauphine. The location is close to everything, but just enough off of bourbon street to be a nice respite. The hotel itself has an old world charm and the courtyards are truly lovely. Big appreciation to Brittany who upgraded our room to a fully working balcony and remodeled room. If you are looking to stay in the heart of the French quarter, cannot recommend enough!
We stayed here 5 nights and we couldn't be happier. Everyone from the valet who greeted us when we arrived, to the front desk, and the maintenance person, were so great. This staff is over the top friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. The hotel hallways were clean, the rooms are a good size and very clean. We had two rooms and have no complaints at all. It's only one block off of Bourbon Street, but most of our time was spent on Royal or walking the rest of the Quarter. As I said, so much stuff is within walking distance, it makes this hotel an even better bargain. Again, I can't say enough about the staff, we truly enjoyed them.
My family checked in earlier this evening. I truly wish we were able to check out immediately. I can’t find a single positive thing to say about the hotel (room 220). (Ok, to be fair, it’s location gets it bumped from 1 star to 2 stars.). The room is absolutely filthy (hair on the toilet seat, floors that just feel gross, brown streaks running down the walls from the vents, dirty surfaces). The toilet leaks from the handle to the point that there was a puddle upon arrival. The bathroom fan doesn’t work, and there’s no ventilation. The tv is blurry. There are stains on the shower curtain, the walls have layers of dirt and wear, and the chair is too dirty to sit on. The beds appeared to have been made by children. The ceiling in the bathroom has a ton of water damage…there are pieces hanging down! The ceiling tiles in the hallway are buckled and stained, and the smell of mildew is intense. My son commented that the elevator seems like it should be in the Haunted Mansion, and not in a good way. We checked out the pool…it was full of debris. I’m incredibly disappointed by our choice of stay. I’m not going to let it spoil our trip, but hope others will take my advice and choose differently! We stayed at Royal Sonesta last May and it was fabulous!…
This is a great hotel in the French Quarter. It is within walking distance to everthing. It is showing it's age but was clean with a very friendly and helpful staff. There is a small bar on site and you are one block from Bourbon Street. Would stay again.
We stayed for 3 days in New Orleans Dauphine. The Hotel is a bit in his age but clean and in the mid of the Historical Center. The Receptionist was very nice and helpful. We payed $80 for their parking garage but obviously they decided on our last day to park our rental car outside on the street where it got a parking ticket. We didn't know so after 3 weeks we got mail and had to pay $30 to the rental car company for handling and $60 for the Parking Ticket to the City New Orleans . I called twice at the Hotel to get my money back. The Receptionist was always very friendly and told me that she send an email to the Manager and I would get a call back which never happened. Sorry to say but that ruined my opinion about the Hotel. Bad Customer Service by the Hotel Management! Never will be back.…
Awesome option for those wanting to stay in the heart of it all without breaking the bank. I bet it would be awesome in the summer with the courtyard pool open. Hotel bar is also very good. The standard two bed room was adequate, clean, and properly maintained. I would stay here again.
The Dauphine Orleans might not be the Ritz, but it is a terrific value and a great place to stay when Downtown. The room rate was reasonable, the place was absolutely clean. Housekeeping was efficient and thorough. The front desk staff were all helpful (Thanks Elaine!) and it was a good time. You'll still get some French Quarter noise, but that's the price of being anywhere Downtown.
