We stayed in room #1. Beautiful room, great staff, perfect location and Huge towels. The staff brought us cookies every night and we got coffee every morning. We checked in early enough to park in their driveway which meant a lot to me. Will definitely be back!

This trip was to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was also my first time in The Crescent City. We could not have chosen a boutique hotel better than The Cornstalk. You can't find a better located boutique in The Quarter. It's on Royal Street so its a short and interesting walk to absolutely everything in that area. Concierge... More

The location of this hotel is what made my decision to try it out. Unfortunately I was not happy with my stay. The bed and breakfast has the potential to be better than it was. Our family stayed in four different rooms and all were very hot and stuffy. When we brought this to their attention they informed us that... More

Stayed 4 nights in room 212 slept like never before, no street noise and a great bed, only minor point we had some issues with Internet, but was sorted out on the last day of our stay. Would we stay here again? Probably but wish they would modernise the bathroom, the curtain is on top of you instead of using... More

My adult daughter and I stayed in the front balcony room last night. The staff was attentive but not stuffy. One of two sweet young women stood to greet us each time we entered the locked front door, making us feel welcome over and over. They answered every question and need but we didn't ask for much. The room looked... More

Boutique, luxury, and accommodating is how Cornstalk will remain in my mind. My wife and I spent one night at this Inn, we were met with the most pleasant hostesses; both ladies made sure our needs were met. The facility itself is old, being built in 1816, the floor and bed squeak slightly, but that is truly part of the... More

very nice place. Court yard excellent for hanging out. Close to the action by walking to various eatery's and New Orleans night spots. Will stay again at the Corn Stalk Hotel. Was able learn why the hotel is called the Corn Stalk. Very interesting history's.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

The Cornstalk Hotel has been newly renovated and refurbished featuring fourteen exquisite guest rooms. Brilliant crystal chandeliers, antique mirrors and furnishings adorn the entrance hall, beautifully set off by high vaulted ceilings. The rosette scrolls, cherubs, medallions, stained-glass windows, fireplaces and canopy beds are all relics of a Louisiana plantation home.
