I was here for business. It was great that what I was in town for was also happening in the Fluno Center. They have parking underneath, the staff was friendly, the breakfast buffet was great, and the rooms were comfortable. Another benefit is it is right in the heart of downtown Madison, lots of options for food and entertainment just outside the doors. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope to have business in the area again that brings me to the Fluno Center
I booked the Fluno after having a look at other options thinking it would be nice for a mini-break overnight trip. It’s incredibly average at best. The location is great, the room is large and the parking is $15, which is less than other places. The bad is that they’ve cheaped out in all the ways that lead to comfort. Scratchy sheets, lumpy pillows, fragranced laundry soap used that made my nose congested, breakfast just a bag of food at the front desk, room thermostat that makes it hard to get the right temp (dial with no degrees), etc. in the end I feel like I got a bad night’s sleep at a cheap hotel at a not cheap price. I would opt for another hotel before this one.
At the edge of the UW Madison campus, it has a very central location. Parking is under the center. Our very clean room was larger than average with a very comfortable queen bed and bath tub. The hotel has been updated, and has been previously accurately compared to similar mid-level hotels with similar pricing. However, we wondered why they only have one bedside table. There is a desk, Keurig coffee maker, and refrigerator. The included breakfast is variable. It includes many hot dishes, but the quality fluctuates. The wifi is stable and has an average speed. Incredible number of tv channels. The website says the hotel is available for anyone visiting UW, but we were not questioned about our visit. The $30 resort fee at checkout was irritating as it was not disclosed when the reservation was made. Things went from a value to being similar to surrounding hotels. The reservation lists their parking fee but not the resort fee!…
What I loved: I stayed at the Fluno Center as it was one of the hotels listed for the training course I took. Though I had registered for the training conference too late to get the original block rate, when I called to get my confirmation number, the concierge asked for the reason of my stay and gave me the conference rate anyways! Also breakfast was provided which is great because at the training it wasn't a given that I would be able to get a full meal to start the day. What was okay but could be better: I had some issues with the website, where despite getting my confirmation number, I wasn't able to use it on the website to confirm my booking. Also I felt that the water pressure in my shower was a bit weak, which I mentioned at checkout when the front desk asked if there were any issues with my stay. Overall, I liked my experience at the Fluno Center. The location is convenient- walking distance to the University, close to some decent dining establishments, and walkable to/from the Capitol and other points of interest. The staff are super friendly, and I'm grateful I was able to check in early. Also as a note: While there is no shuttle to/from the airport, an Uber or Lyft is around $20-25 and takes about 20 minutes in good traffic.…
We have stayed at Fluno Center multiple times. Has been nice and rooms were always clean and above average for the price. Only complaint was main entrance drive was hidden away from University Avenue and could be hard to find if new to staying there. Very conviently located. Fluno Has Cookies 🍪! Breakfast was Mediocre.
Great location right on campus, only a few blocks from the Union and State St. Rooms are similar to a standard mid-level hotel like a Courtyard. Nothing special, but clean and comfortable. Staff was amazing, very friendly and responsive. The pub on the 8th floor exceeded expectations with a first-class pool table, great bartender, quality draft beer, and a solid old fashioned. Nice place for a nightcap. Will definitely consider staying there the next time I'm in Madison.
It is in the heart of campus. An elegant building that is warm and the rooms are really nice. Breakfast is wonderful. The bar at the top of the building is wonllllderful. Great to be surrounded by fellow badgers.
Visiting for both university business and homecoming. We arrived very late 2am on Thursday morning without luggage (thanks United). Nighttime staff was welcoming and super helpful. Women at check in hooked us up with lots of toiletries- comb, toothbrush and toothpaste, shaving cream and razor. Room was well decorated including a fridge. Front desk offered us help with trying to get our luggage and called us when it did finally arrived. So far a 5 star star visit.
This was my first visit to Wisconsin and I visited this location as part of a business trip. This was an excellent choice, as the location was perfect! It was close to restaurants & shopping. I really enjoyed my stay, as the staff was very welcoming; the location was great; the rooms were pleasant; and the food was fantastic. Despite all the good things, I found sleeping quite uncomfortable, but I would definitely stay again if I'm in the area.
Great location. Comfortable room. Excellent food in restaurant. Welcoming and helpful staff. Recommend highly Especially good if you want access to both the University and the city of Madison. On Wisconsin!
