Because it was a football weekend, the hotel doubles their normal rate. OK. is I am paying 475 for a basic hotel room. But no maid service. Imagine coming back to a dirty room with no clean towels everyday. They blame covid and the problem of finding help with the lack of service. Hilton used to be a quality brand. Now its one step below Motel 6. I will think twice about staying at a Hilton again.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. First I would like to sincerely apologize for the lack of cleaning during your visit. We will service rooms staying over by request, however we are not currently cleaning all rooms that are staying over automatically. I will work with my front desk team to help ensure that this is communicated properly to all of our guests arriving. Our rates do fluctuate based on time of booking. Depending on our demand and availability you may see rates fluctuate. Football weekends are typically very busy for all downtown hotels. While I do feel Hilton is still the best brand out there, I understand your frustrations and want you to know we will work to make all future visits more comfortable and relaxing. I hope you reconsider giving us another opportunity in the future. Again my sincerest apologies for failing to meet your expectations, I am confident we can and will do better. All the best.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed at the Hilton for one night this week and we had an excellent experience. Although masks were required and some things eliminated due to covid, we still enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Right from the get-go the gentleman who checked us in was pleasant, courteous and accommodating. We arrived a little before checkin time and since our room wasn’t ready yet he kindly upgraded us to a bigger room with a lake and city view. We loved it. This Hilton is so beautiful and clean and comfortable we’ll try to go back soon. It’s in an excellent location right in the heart of Madison. The rate was reasonable. One of my favorite things was the big, fluffy white bath-towels. It was invigorating wiping your body with it. The bed was very comfortable and the room so new and pleasantly decorated.

The hotel looks nice on the Hilton website, but my initial impressions are not so good. It is kind of tired and the rooms are not spacious. The worst thing is the in-room air conditioner / heater. It is LOUD. You can't have a conversation above the noise and I can't imagine how one could sleep with it on. Fortunately we may be able to leave it off if the weather cooperates. Right now the unit in the next room is so loud we can hear it in our room. Compared to the Hampton in we stayed in last night it is an order of magnitude louder. Hard to understand how this property can be a business destination. There is a nice built in desk, but the chair is designed for someone much shorter than my 6 feet 2 inches. I feel like I am literally sitting on the floor. I expect a hotel in a premium downtown location to pay more attention to details. Unfortunately, the missed details are what stay with customers.

I have stayed there many times before. This visit was disappointing. I was in room 921 and the fan/ac was so loud I had to turn it off and swelter at night. The blinds did not fully close so I had to wedge a table to bar a bright light from the room. I wanted/needed coffee in the morning....it was all decaf. When asked how it was and I advised, the man said he'd see if he could get me some extra Hilton points. No word on that but I would have rather had a room worth the price. Upon leaving, another couple said they had the same noise problem. I was too tired to ask to switch rooms upon check-in as it would have been the smarter thing to do. The bright spot was Christina, the breakfast server, as she was kind and cheerful.

Nearly every hotel provides free WiFi and coffee and basic black tea but not this one. Bring your adapters as there are no USB ports. Elevator security did not seem to work on some elevators to limit access to top floors.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your recent visit. While I love reading about wonderful stays our guests experience, I know there is always opportunities to do better. While we do charge a small fee for WiFi in the guest rooms it is complimentary in the lobby areas. Also we do offer WiFi complimentary to all Hilton Honors members. It's free to join! We do also have usb ports in the guestrooms. Each night stand has it built in to the side, which sometimes can be hidden, I'm sorry that you didn't see that and apologize for failing to meet your expectations. We also normally do provide complimentary coffee and tea in the rooms. We have been experiencing some supply chain issues getting these coffee pods, in the mean time, until we can have that back in the rooms, we have decided to put complimentary coffee in the lobby by the desk. I hope you consider staying with us in the future. Please feel free to call the hotel directly and ask for me. I'd be happy to assist any way I am able. Take care and all the best...
