First off, we were welcomed by Matthew at the front desk, who went out of his way to help us during our 3-night stay. Room was comfortable and clean. TVs have Netflix and Amazon Prime pre-loaded. All staff seemed happy and were curteous and helpful. Employees of note: Matthew at the front desk; Jonas at the coffee bar. Thank you!
Recently upgraded, the hotel looked great! Service, while limited, was very attentive. A special call out to the front desk and engineer on fast fix on the 55" TV. Starbucks breakfast really hit the spot. Totally happy with the value of the stay. Lastly, the bedding is to die for!
I am a titanium elite which means I am very loyal to Marriott. I was very disappointed by this hotel. I knew going in they were doing renovations to the lobby but in reality they were renovating all over. When I checked in the woman gave me a floor to the 8th floor and told me which specific elevator I had to use. I came back saying there was a note saying the elevator didnt work on the 8th floor and she didn't believe me. So she came to the elevators with me and goes "whoops didnt know that. yeah youll have to take it to the 7th floor and then take the stairs to the 8th floor." As I have a suitcase, carry on bag, two bags of groceries, and a box of energy drinks.... I had to climb two flights of stairs. She didnt offer to get someone to help me or to change my room. The stairs were dirty and had clothes in piles in the corner and a ladder coming from the ceiling that I had to walk past and it just didnt seem safe. (I took pics of this btw) The elevator didnt work my entire stay so getting in and out of the room especially with stuff was a pain. My bathroom smelled like cigarette smoke every morning...im assuming one of the workers was smoking near a vent and it ventilated into my room. Then my last straw was on my last day thankfully. I ALWAYS send out packages (big and small) after a conference and I bring them to the front desk and tell the person what time UPS will pick them up. This day I had two very large packages. When I told the guy behind the counter he was extremely rude and asked what he was suppose to do with them... I told him i dont know their policy but they will be picked up around 4pm. He then rolls his eyes and asks ME to bring them to THEIR staff room to be held until then. I found it extremely unprofessional that I had to bring the packages back to their room and it was not done for me. I have done this 200+ times and the person has always taken them from me or asked me to leave it there and they would have someone come get them. I felt like I was helping them with their job the entire time. Will NEVER stay here again.…
We've been staying at this hotel for nearly 10 years. The bar manager recognizes us and remembers our wine selections. Sadly for us she is retiring, but it speaks to the quality of the hotel. Still under some renovation, the room upgrades in the renovation are great. Electrical outlets on both sides of the bed. Better furniture and bathroom allows 2 people to get ready. Executive lounge is great -- only place that I can reliably find plain non-fat yogurt as a choice.
Stayed here for an event at the Alliant Energy Center. Was nice to just be able to walk across the street. Hotel was in immaculate condition. Room was clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Blankets felt weighted and were amazing to sleep under. Staff was friendly. Check in was easy. Even under construction this was a great stay.
