This cute little motel lives up to its name as the Retro inn. With cute themed rooms and great prices, it's a fun place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. If I am in that area again I will be staying there.
We stayed here for one night on our annual road trip (social distancing, of course) from Ohio to the western states. I had found this place entirely by accident while playing on Google Street View a couple of years earlier, and told myself if I ever happened to be in Cortez, Colorado I would definitely be staying here. We reserved the room in early February, and when we arrived at the motel we were greeted with a warm welcome by the nicest woman -- and a huge discount from what we'd initially expected to pay. The lobby was decorated in a 1950s motif, and I knew instantly I was going to really enjoy this place. When she handed us our keys -- REAL keys on plastic fobs like all the motels used to have -- I laughed and told her I would have been disappointed if the keys had been anything but what she had just handed us. The room was very large and spic-and-span clean. We were in the "Flintstones Room", with various Flintstones pictures on the walls. The air conditioning was nice and Arctic (exactly how I like it). The motel was sparsely populated that night, but that may have been because it was a Sunday. I sure hope that's the case, because I'd love to see this place stay around for a long time. At any rate, there was absolutely no noise -- not from guests, and not from the highway in front of the property. We were given suggestions of restaurants that delivered to the motel, as no restaurants were open for dine-in due to the Covid crisis. I don't know when I will be back in this area again, but I'd check this motel first before reserving anything else. Thanks, Dede!…
Watch for Elvis out front of this entertaining establishment. The accommodations are really top notch. Clean quiet rooms, luxurious towels and a good breakfast with an excellent selection of bread and jams. Highly recommended over any chain motel.
Great room, thoughtful touches, and fun. Each room has artwork for a year from the 50s to the 80s. Breakfast is very nice — includes breakfast burritos and handmade tamales. Good location, great value.
This is the second time we've stayed here and it was every bit as pleasant as the first. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The heater had a thermostat and wasn't noisy like in most low budget lodging. Everything was quiet overnight and we got a good nights sleep. Breakfast was decent with a variety of toast and jam, cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, premade packaged breakfast burritos, and homemade green chili tamales.
