The Trevene was to be a 'splurge' for me and at first glance the hotel and its grounds are beautiful. The welcome was one of the warmest I've received but I have to say that my room was quite shabby with walls in need of painting, exposed electrical work and a broken shower stand. The water was not replenished on... More

Stayed here just one night on way from Kandy to Ella and as a stop off to do Horton Plains. In a good location by the park and walkable in to town. Manager was welcoming on arrival, offering tea in the lounge and chatting to us about the area. Organised a trip to Horton Plains for us with packed lunch... More

Beautiful old villa with an ambience that suits the historic town. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. They helped us book tours, organised a driver (great man; gave us coconut to taste) and Nisa runs around making sure everybody is happy. They light a fire every night in the living room which gives a very cosy atmosphere. The... More

All of it started with a friendly personal reservation over the phone. My 3.5 year old kid, my wife and myself visited the place for two nights. We were offered with an old British colonial type room with a fire inside. It was a wonderful homely experience with excellent hospitality of very friendly and helpful staff. It was felt like... Admittedly, some of the areas in the hotel are looking a bit tired, but this does not detract from its charm in any way. It's a great little spot and the oldy worldy nature of the place is fantastic. Add to this the good value for money and the wonderful, friendly welcome and support from the staff and I don't... More

I was there with two of my friends who wanted an escape from the city and this was just the place for that. When we reached there, it was raining and we couldn't walk out, and we were worried that it would make our situation worse. But the place is soo good and staff was friendly to help us with... More

Older building had lots of character, but new building, where we were placed, was still a work in progress; room itself was fine (WiFi was temporary, plunked outside our door); breakfast was disappointing, hard-boiled eggs arriving in a runny state; hotel arranged van tour to Bluefield Tea Estate and Ramboda Falls, but driver skipped the Falls apparently due to drought... Sent one of my colleagues last Friday and the feed back is very meh. Breakfast disappointing: Booked the place on BB but they only gave a couple of sandwiches and fruits. Rooms: The washrooms were bad, no shower. And we were the only guests.
