We were given a wonderful room with a shared balcony, overlooking the river. This was a treat in the mornings, sipping strong tea and listening to the river and the birds, enjoying nature. Rooms were spacious and cool, a bit gloomy but it adds to the romantic ambiance. Food was good and service was attentive and pleasant. The pool was... More

Its is such a welcoming place with breathtaking scenery by the Kelani river, a major river in srilanka. At this point of the river, the famous war time blockbuster- bridge over river Kwai was filmed with heavy weights of the cinema screen such as Alec Guinness. Now the stretch of the river is famous for white water rafting enthusiasts. Flanked... More

Plantation Hotel on the bank of Kelani Ganga river is a very pleasant place to stay – if you get the right rooms. From the outside and in some places of the public areas it can seem somewhat worn and moist, but for the three rooms facing the river, it is really great (room 9, 10, 11). Those rooms are... More

Had lunch here with my family. Made reservation few days back, but we had to keep standing for quite some time to get a table for lunch. The service was poor and the buffet which cost Rs.1350 pp didn't even worth half of the price. Food didn't taste good and there were hardly any dessert option. Finally when I was... More

We spent one night here on an Exodus "premium" tour of Sri Lanka and were appalled. The room was filthy, the walls, paintwork and windows had not been cleaned for years - evidently removing the need for curtains. The previous occupant's used Elastoplast was still on the floor and the bed's canopy was encrusted with dead insects. The toilet leaked... More

The only thing the restaurant wanted you to order was the overpriced, underwhelming buffet that had been sitting around all day. When I insisted on ordering off the menu they told me it would be 25 minutes, which it was. Curry with rice was a huge plate of rice and three miniscule pieces of chicken with a tiny bit of... More

We stayed here as a stop for a bird watching tour for a night. The rooms are neat and clean although the place needs a make over to do justice to the location, particularly the flooring. The restaurant is right next to a stream and it was like having food inside a rain forest. The food is average and dinner... More

We stayed at this quirky hotel for two nights. Our room was near to the reception area which meant that we did not have a balcony (whilst some rooms overlook the well cared for swimming pool and the river, ours backed onto the carpark). However, the bonus of having this room was that we could access wi-fi whilst in it... More

Lovely place.....beautiful view.....We finished river rafting and stopped over at the restaurant for lunch....We didn't stay here....the place lacked much variety and the food wasn't great.....the service was good though.....there was not a single item that made an impact on my taste buds.....the Rolls Royce museum was however impressive

Stayed for a couple of nights. Pricey but staff were friendly. Food was generally very good. Facilities looking a bit tired but pool is well maintained. We were in a triple which was next to the kitchen so pretty noisy up until 10.30. Also had either rats or mongoose on the roof every night in the small hours which made... More
