We were there in for an overnight stay, last weekend with a group of friends. We had a blast & went rafting even-though there less water level. The view was magnificent & the local food was heavenly. All & all we enjoyed our getaway to rafters retreat. I highly recommend this please for a chilling getaway.
Stayed one night at rafters retreat. The food is okay but not more. If you are doing rafting, ask for Bobbie! He is great and speaks good English. He did the rafting experience worth it! (Bobbie is just his nickname. He uses the name to make it easy for foreigners)
This place is quite pricy due to its unique location right by a stunning river and its special natural character with half-opened rooms overlooking the river. The closeness to the nature comes with a price of ever-moist rooms which I think affects the quality of the interior. The restaurant was the coziest place we dined at in Sri Lanka, although I'd said the food was pretty average. The lady, Dilina, was super super nice although my husband was a bit of an *** which I apologise for :)
We had an amazing rafting time with my wife (2h). Our 2 young kids were baby-sitter by the hotel. Everything were perfect. The equipments are OK (safety). We didn't sleep in the hotel. I recommend the rafter's retreat
Kitulgala was our last stop in Sri Lanka so we wanted it to be good and Rafters Retreat did not disappoint. The Amazing accommodation opening right onto the river was a special way to wake up. The team were really friendly and looked after my family superbly taking us white water rafting, canyoning and the kids absolutely loved their zip line which takes you through the rainforest and across the river! Our guide and his colleague were brilliant, making sure the kids were comfortable and confident to do as many of the activities as they wanted. They had good quality gear all of which looked pretty new and was in great condition. I’d highly recommend Rafters Retreat! Pete, Vicki and family.
