The hotel is newly decorated, with minimalised design.
Love everything about it.
The cons: no tv in the room, pay extra krw 13k for breakfast which we were asked to wait 30 min for the table, and reservation only can be done by phone.
The pros: has internet in room (Lan), has river view, hairdryer.
The restaurants are closed on 6.30pm, so better has the dinner before then. Else you will only get ramyeon at mini mart.
If you would like to enjoy scenery of Nami island more, better to stay here.
Staff at hotel can't really speak english, but the one at reception (different building) speaks english really well.

I've stayed in this hotel in Nami island on 17th November, 2012. There are 10 of us altogether, initially I wanted to book the cottages but it was fully booked even though I tried to book it July, which is 4 months ahead. We have no choice but to take the double bed room on the 2nd floor. The room is spacious, nicely decorated and has a balcony but no TV or kettle. They do not provide bath towel but just hand towels and no toothbrush nor toothpaste. You can get hot / cold water from the water dispenser located in the common area in front of the staircase. There is also a microwave oven. Though it's a nice hotel and nice experience staying here but there is nothing much to do in this island itself especially at night.

My family, 2 adults and 1 kid, traveled to Nami Island in the Mid Oct 2014 and stayed in the hotel for 1 interesting night.

My room is a Korean family Ondol room on the 3rd floor of the main building, so have to carry the luggage and go up by the stairs. If you have difficulties to go up the stairs, you may choose the room on the 1st or the 2nd floor.

The room and bathroom is clean. Every room has its own theme, it's beautiful. My room has a balcony and good view, I like it. You can see the photos and size of the each room from their website. It's small but it's fine for us for just 1 night.

Clean towels, bath sets, hair dryer and free mineral bottled water are provided. No TV, no water kettle, I have to get the hot water from water dispenser on the 2nd floor and use the microwave oven.

The hotel main building has a small coffee shop mainly for breakfast and coffee/desserts. The restaurants are not next to the hotel and have to walk 5+ minutes. The restaurants are all closed around 6:30PM / 7:30PM. It’s not convenience at all on rainy days or at night time! But this is part of the experience to travel on Nami Island. The hotel provides free shuttle service back and forth to the pier.

Stay in the cotton should be more interesting but need to book early. Nami Island is crowded after 10:30AM. You can take nice pictures and enjoy the beautiful scene at the early morning if you stay here.

our first hotel at South Korea will be Naminara Hotel and it so absolutely perfect. So, I decide to book this hotel by email, because the website is Korean language and defenitly hard. no english. and, finally I found the email from blog. the email is namihotel@naminara.com and they response quick, after booking you must confirmation a week before arrival.

me and my wife stay at double bed room with pond and garden view at second floor, the price is 77.000W and we paid at the hotel when check in. the pick up shuttle can get from information center just couple step from the port.

The room was perfect, clean and homey. full of art things, no television/LCD but lots of books. I thing this is great to screw your electronic part for awhile. we have a great time, at night and morning before 9 AM is so quite and peacefull, this is the different part of Nami island.

Nami Island was made very popular due to Korean film and dramas, such as the series “Winter Sonata”.

It is dedicate to tourism, nature and the arts, and is a self proclaimed independent “Naminara Republic”. With it’s own currency and stamps.

When we stayed, we arrive around 3:00pm on Sunday and caught the tail end of the “All day Parade” which unlike its name did not last all day... these is entertainment at weekend but these finish quite early.

This island itself is fairly small, with access via ferry or for those wanting more of a thrill, a zip line ride. There are various walking routes, art installations, and some animal (ostriches, rabbits, squirrels etc) and rides for kids and adults (big kids), you could also rent bikes buy the half hour, which is about all it would take to cover out of the island.

There is one hotel that also has a number of separate cottages that you can stay in. We stayed in the main building in a western style room (has a bed) but you can also take a more traditional Korean style room and sleep on the floor.

The hotel is adorned with a multitude of international flags. Both outside and in the lobby. The rooms have works by various artists.

The rooms did miss some items I would have expected, a telephone, to at least speak with reception on, an elevator for rooms not located on the ground floor, TVs (although not having a TV is not a huge loss). The hotel boasts free WiFi which I found to be intermittent, and a cafe open until 11:30pm with last service at 11:00pm and boasted quite a selection of beverage choices.

Since the only hot beverage available in the hotel room was a Rooibos and mint teabag, a combination I did not fancy, I thought I’d try the “Cafe” out. It was 10:00pm and the Island has just about shut down for the evening, last ferry leaving at 9:45pm, all bars, cafes and restaurant outside of the hotel we’re shut so and I decided to try the hotel cafe and go for a Latte. I was told at reception it was too late and the only were serving beer or americano coffee, which did not seem to tie with the sign and menu they had up, but when I enquirer further was told they did not speak English, with a selection of beer or Americano coffee not sure I would then really call that a cafe....

The hotel room was okay, some of the bathroom fittings especially the mirror had seen better days, I am not sure what was wrong with the mirror but it had black marks where the mirror back seemed to be missing in blocks near the bottom. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom so the floor gan get very wet, which is not uncommon in Korea, and there was plenty of hot water, the temperature was almost at a point where I could have brewed a cup of rooibos straight from the tap! So watch out if you go with kids or elderly.

Overall I would say the hotel was fair, attractions were so so, unless you are a fan of the Korean dramas and that was your main reason to go, then the rest of this review is moot as you would go just for that... setting up you own independence with currencies is a bit like getting Disney dollars, some might enjoy it, but it did not do much for me....

It was fine but not sure it had enough appeal for me to visit a second time.... maybe only to try out the zip line rather than the ferry.

The only hotel in Nami Island. They provide transfer from the pier to hotel. Hotel rooms have several design, we selected a mainly black theme room and like it much. Place was sparkling clean, toilet came with bath tub. Good quality toiletries were provided. Bed was of good quality too.

Experience with the receptionist was pleasant. Breakfast was good and we opted to sit at the verandah where you could catch the squirrels coming close to you for foods.

Overall experience was wonderful especially with the beautiful autumn of Nami Island.

It is the only hotel on the Nami island. It is quite a nice one with a variety of room options from hotel rooms to bungalows and villas for big groups.

The rooms are quickly full and you can only book the hotel through its direct website by emailing to the reservation team. payment can be made at the hotel but advanced booking is required and you have to reconfirm a week before the trip.

We stayed in ondol - Korean traditional bedrooms with matts. But the room is very nice with heater. There is a restaurant for breakfast there but it closes early. The restaurant looks over a beautiful lake and there are open-door seats as well.

The staff is quite nice and helpful. Cost is about 100usd/night.

Highly recommend to stay overnight to enjoy peaceful Nami island in late afternoon and early morning. Otherwise it is always crowded during the day.

We stayed at Naminara Hotel for 2 nights. We were a family of 7 people with 3 adults, 2 elderly and 2 children. We initially wanted to stay in a bungalow but there were no room available on our dates. We finally stayed in the hotel main building and it was a very good choice! We had a room all painted with colourful sceneries with sky on the ceiling. There were plenty of books on the shelf. It was like a guest room rather than a hotel room. The kids enjoyed it so much!! My parents stayed in the room next to us but their room was more traditional type with simple traditional Korean decoration. There were some welcome snacks on the dressing table with my name on it. It was a small personal touch which we appreciated a lot ! The room type was a traditional Korean room with Korean sleeping mattresses and pillows. The pillows were hard though but it was an experience. The room has no wardrobe but to hang on the hangers provided at the entrance. The bathroom was very simple with only shower where the whole bathroom floor would get wet after showering. However the floor drainage was a quite weak. The room has a mini bar but no electric kettle to boil some hot water or coffee or tea. There are some mugs and the basic necessities like any hotel. There was a water machine with hot and cold water and a microwave on the second floor which is in an open space. This is very convenient.
One drawback is that since it is so close to the nature, there were quite some insects such as spiders or big flies getting into the room. Also since our room was opening to the outside with trees next to it, be careful in the morning when you open your room door as you would get a big splash of spider webs on your full face !!
The staffs were very helpful and kind. We all enjoyed our stay very much! We will go back again next year with longer stay as the island has still so much to experience!! Recommend it to any family or anyone wishing to enjoy a relaxing holiday near the nature!
