Such a beautiful journey! The best of our lives! We stayed in the beach villas near to the beach and the morning view was incredible. We were 5 adults and a baby of almost 20months, we were quite afraid of rainy days as on all weather forecasts said it rained, but… it rained 3 times in 8 days, each rain lasted for max 5min and that was it. It was a bit windy in 2 different afternoons, but on the first one we visited the rest of the island that we didn’t have the time to visit and stopped then to the coffee shop, on the second one we went to Laguna Infinity Pool as there was less windy. The food was very good, there were many dishes, both asian and international, pasta was very tasty, which is a plus as we were coming from Italy, I appreciated that during our stay every day there were different dishes and food was very varied. People of Kuramathi were kind and respectful, very careful with their guests. I would definitely come back if I had the chance, thank you for making our stay such a beautiful one🤎 And the tan… the best tan ever…
We recently returned from our second visit to Kuramathi in the last 5 months - we were not disappointed and are pleased to say that the impeccable standard & experience we had in November was repeated - top notch customer service, rooms, food, drinks and of course the all important kids dream of Bageecha Kids Club!! While we went as a family with 2 young kids, it is important to note we would return here in a heart beat without the kids!! Snorkling: We did considerably more snorkling during this visit - we swam on the reef with dolphins, turtles, reef sharks and all sorts of other fish you can imagine. We had a room on the reef side so we could simply paddle out from the beach in front of our room. Bring a Go-Pro or some sort of underwater camera to document the experience!! Food: We had opted for the full-board package and were therefore allocated the Farivalhu buffet restaurant. You will not be disappointed with the variety, quality and freshness of the food served at every meal. We stayed for nine (9) nights and were never disappointed nor did we feel that the food was repetitive. Top quality food which is on par or exceeds standard of 5 star buffet restaurant in Dubai. The a la carte restaurants are exceptional but we didn't get to try them on this occasion. Room: Once again we were in a 2-bed beach house which is super spacious and could accommodate 6 adults. It is a two story structure with massive living space on each floor, massive bathroom and situated directly on the beach with your own private beach chairs in front. For families, there will be very few hotels that could offer such a unique living arrangement and is one of the reason we came back! The rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are extremely attentive to ensure the room is spotless upon your return. Island experience: We explored the island some more this time - its about 1.2km in length which means you are able to do your morning jogs from one end to the other. The white sandbar at the end of the Island is mind blowing- and spectacular, beautiful spot to park yourself, watch the world go by and take some memorable photos. At the other end of the island they have one of 3 swimming pools (2 of which are infinity) - it is very close to the jetty where the beginner snorkling is done and the swimming pool amongst the palm trees in front of the white sand it just WOW! There are several restaurants/bars around it where you can order food or refreshments. In between these two points there are many bars, restaurants, coffee club, spa and swimming pools which offer a great ambiance. Evening entertainment: The island has a cracking band which plays at the various bars/restaurants. We decided to briefly watch the band at Laguna bar on this visit and were very impressed. These guys have incredible voices, play any cover on request and really get the crowd going with their enthusiasm. Again, a very nice added touch for those that want to listen to some live music in paradise! Bageecha Kids Club - For those with kids, this is a priceless gem of a feature of the resort. The staff at this club are just phenomenal and give you every peace of mind that the kids are happy & in good hands. The kids club has lunch and dinner available during the course of the day and will facilitate baby sitting for younger kids (from a couple of months) for a very reasonable hourly fee. The kids will be doing painting, crafting, dress-up costumes, beach walks, cooking/bbq experience, visit the ocean life educational center amongst the many other activities. The club also has a dedicated swimming pool with slides along with a splash park for the toddlers. Imagine this: family breakfast finished 10:30am, drop off kids at Bageecha at 11am, adult time of cocktails by pool followed by a peaceful lunch. This is followed by having to drag the kids out of the kids club at 2pm because they enjoy it so much and want to stay longer. This place is what makes the resort for families!! Overall a very pleasant experience and one we would like to repeat. This resort is like nonother that we have stayed at and one we would recommend to anyone!!…
10 nights all inclusive select Tried all the restaurants on al a carte and found all to be of exceptional quality and standard. The food, presentation, service were superb. Stayed in a water villa, with access to coral reefs at the back - reef sharks a common occurrence when relaxing in the jacuzzi sipping a beer. The room was very clean with an excellent view of the ocean. Air Con room and TV WiFi across the resort but not in restaurants Excellent sunsets from the sand bank end of the island - a worthy venture and lovely experience - very much close to nature as all there is to see is the sea, sun and sand, no buildings, ships/boats, or islands - purely natural - also worth taking the sunset cruise too $13 or part of selection package - again worthy but weather dependent. Good spots to snorkel if a beginner or intermediate - if advanced then worth an excursion if wanting to see more. did see Turtles and Reef Sharks around the local reef. Potential to see dolphins too. A huge variety of sea life to see on the reefs. There are fruit bats on the island and you can see them hanging in the trees during the day - wildlife is quite rich with lizards, herons etc and mosquitos - do buy a repellent if you are prone to getting bitten, i am and i did get bitten. Snorkelling equipment available - came with the select package Three pools on the island, top middle and bottom, all nicely accessible, clean with bars near by. Beaches are good and plenty of spaces to relax with sun-beds, towels provided and you don't need to reserve a lounger before breakfast as there are plenty Getting around the resort is challenging, though it is not long and walkable, there are buggies that can carry around 10 people. They are always full at peak times and meal times and additional buggies are not provided, so be prepared to walk a fair bit too. They will stop if flagged down, but it is irritating when they are full of younger people. Age limit needed, or is that agest/selfish We ate in the al a carte but had buffet breakfast and lunch - buffet food is very good and good selection for english breakfast , asian food, pastries cereals , nice coffee and tea and juices - though freshly squeezed juices are charged and not part of inclusive package either - chef on hand to cook eggs how you like. Evening buffets apparently have themed nights There are three buffet restaurants on the island and depending where your room is, will depend which buffet restaurant is allocated to you. - We tried all three. All have good selection fo food for lunch, hot and cold. If you like curries and spicy food then you are in also a bonus if you like fish too. No worries if not as there are plenty of other foods available. Weather - all ways humid but hit and miss with sunshine - rained a few times and quite windy too. There is evening entertainment in the bars - did not go so cannot comment. There is table tennis, tennis court, football pitch (yeah righting - bit warm to play) Nicely equipped gym with instructor. Staff were excellent - nothing was too much trouble. Our air con packed up in our room - called at 9:30pm to report it, not expecting anything to be done until the next day, only for three people to turn on 10mins later, supervisor, maintenance and house keeper - repaired cleaned up within 20mins - now that was impressive. My wife tried the SPA and had some treatment - full body massage and she said it was the best she had every had, even though a bit pricey at £120 There is a souvenir shop. We saw the back of house which was interesting to see how the the island functions A few pointers that might not be obvious:- Mini bar in the room is not all part of the inclusive package - non alcoholic was but all alcohol was not. Bizarrely, two cans of beer in the fridge were not part of the all inclusive select but i could pick up cans from the bar (part of all inclusive select) and take them back - work that out - same principle for the wine too. Snacks charged too. Everything ordered requires a signature and if the drink does not have a green tick, then you are charged - so be mindful when ordering - it is easy once you get the hang of it. Visiting local areas, does require, for ladies covered shoulders and covered knees - though not strictly adhered to, i would suggest taking something to comply, just in case it is requested of you - we did not know until we got there and ended up borrowing garments The sandy beaches are excellent and the sand is soft but i would advise taking some rubber type shoes to wear as there is a fair bit of coral in the water to stand on. I don't revisit resorts just because already been and for the money would like to experience different places - however i am not surprised people do return here. I would highly recommend it and would consider a return in a few years. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay, looked after and now very relaxed.…
We enjoyed lot of things here in kuramathi Maldives Kind staffs and we liked staf Oksana the receptionist who treated well The food was delicious 😋 Our next Trip will be again here and clean and neat
Our 5th return and Kuramathi didn't disappoint. Very busy with children and no adult pool area, also Duniye restaurant after paying huge amount on select all inc too many red dots on menu to pay extra, a little extreme. Accommodation we opted for duplex house really good. Staff always happy to help. Staff at Palm and Inguru and Reef our personal best smiling and service on point
From the moment we arrived at the island jetty, the staff on the island were attentative and ensured our reception was the start of a wonderful experience. Check-in was slick and informative, our bags were taken ahead and placed in our room and a dedicated buggy bus was available to take us there. A separate buggy bus run frequently throughout the day either from set stops or just to be flagged down. All staff from the moment we arrived to when we left smiled and made us feel very welcome. They were always were extremely polite, considerate and respectful of our needs and those of everyone else. The numerous bars and restaurant's on the island offered an amazing choice from their menus. There was no need to carry cash as all checks were signed off, charged to the room and settled at the end of the stay. There was always plenty to see and do. Aside from the usual watersports, gym and spa [all truely amazing experiences], there's a Botanical walk, a nature trail and at the heart of it all, is the the Eco centre which was very enligtening to the many threats possed to marine life. The island also has an extensive programme for producing their own water and food for which a tour can be arranged. The beaches and sea were like the rest of the island, spotlessly clean. The shallow graduation into the water from the beach made it appealling to all ages. Marine life[ various colourful fish, black tail sharks and crabs] could be seen from the water's edge, however, with snorkelling gear, the islands house reefs opened up a spectacular array of marine life that kept me captivated each time i swam in the wonderfully warm and clear waters. Kuramathi is truely a paradise that i long to return to.…
We choosed this resort for our honeymoon stay. Fabolous island with many interesting locations and activities, stylish and diverse outlets with large choice of food and drinks selection, instagramable beaches and convinient places for scooba and super friendly and attentive staff (Rifshan is the star). Recomend to all families and couples - place where you can get your privacy and be happy!
This was our first time traveling to the Maldives and our travel agent recommended Kuramathi because of the good reviews. From the first moment we arrived we knew we made a good choice. Every single person of the staff is very friendly and will always help you, the food was also very good.
We went to the Maldives for 10 nights from 11th-21st June. I’ll separate the good from what could have been better. Room: We had 369 (water villa with pool) which is lagoon side. Stunning views, great space well worth the money. The minibar is only for soft drinks however you can pay extra for the alcohol. We didn’t do this, we just grabbed beers for my OH from the bars as we were select all inclusive. Room attendant: We had Faisal who was a super star! Lovely guy. We tipped him each day and I think this was well deserved! Food: We had the buffet breakfast twice I believe. While the omelettes are cooked fresh and are good the other food wasn’t that had been sitting there. We were glad we had already upgraded as we are not really buffet people and we do like our food cooked fresh. Communication: I found that there was a lack of communication from staff, such as we found out on departure day we could have gone to a lounge at the main reception instead of Thundi reception as we had to wait a long time for a buggy. Buggy: Generally alright. Roughly around every 15 minutes. We did walk a couple times but could normally get on a buggy if we wished. Champagne loft for honeymoon: We did have an incident here ( the resort apologised so I won’t name the staff member) but this person made us feel very unwelcome and clearly just wanted to go home. Took over an hour to get a drink, and gave us the bill before we wanted it. OH also got pen down his shirt as the pocket on the wallet was broken. Resort did take this to laundry but it’s a permanent pen so it didn’t come out. Brand new shirt in the bin! The island is beautiful and the water is stunning just as you would expect. Weather: We had two storms in the evenings that lasted 20 minutes and a couple of showers lasting 2/3 minutes every other evening. Otherwise it was blue skies with few clouds. We had one complete overcast day. I would recommend this resort to others it we generally don’t return to places as there was so many other countries to see! Overall a solid 8/10!…
I came with my best friend for our girls trip and we stayed for 6 nights in a wonderful Water villa with pool room. Now, overall it is an excellent value for money resort considering the price point that we paid for. We went during the shoulder season of June. 1. Although we stayed in the relatively newer part of the island , there seems to be either a lack of quality or a lack of maintenance of the villa build. I could see silicon patch work ( not small ones but big patches) at the pool, wooden slats were loose at the barriers as I gently leaned on one and it moved , the wooden ladder steps to the water were kinda broken in certain bits which made me worry whether or not it would break under my weight ( I am 66Kg btw). The water villa with pool was indeed big and comfortable but it just didn't seem to be built with quality in mind. Nothing was spoilt btw. The room although I have stated some negatives above , is overall comfortable and if you are looking for space, it has it. Huge patio to put your inflatables and other knick Knacks. Lots of wardrobe space, huge bathroom with 2 sinks. A big tub to soak in ( although if you are a certain height you may sink in if you lean back),but hard to lean back truthfully. Lots of storage for clothes and other stuff if you tend to bring lots. For all those peeps who wish to snorkel , do request for the reef facing side villas. Although the corals have lost it's color, it's due to global warming and you will face the same problems everywhere. But there is lots of fish life esp when you snorkel to the deeper parts. I was snorkeling with schools of powder black tangs as they nipped on the rocks. A couple of powder blues, parrot fishes and goat fish as well. I also noticed many trigger fishes in the shallower parts of the reef. Many reef sharks as well. 2. Nobody came to explain where and what things are in the villa. The experience here is unlike what I had in my prior maldives visits whereby we were buggied to the room and the rep will explain all the stuff in the villa, like lights, TV channels ( our TV in the villa was stuck in the spanish lang and I was trying to find the option to switch to english till I gave up), etc. Basically, we were just dropped off at our villa. So we spent some time walking around trying to figure out the lights and things. 3. In my booking I had specifically requested for a seperate single bed in the villa as my friend and I prefer seperate sleeping arrangements. Only 2 of us btw. And I had again emailed them a few days before to remind them of this which the hotel had responded to say that they will remember to arrange but sadly when I got to the villa .. there was no seperate single bed. So I had to call them and ask for it. Thankfully they came within 30 mins after the call to set it up. 4. Buggy service has to be more frequent. The Island is so big it has to be way more frequent as I seem to see guests having to miss buggies as it's usually full. For me I walked most of the time ( as my villa is quite central and near to all the restaurants and spa that I went to) but if you are going from 1 end to the other, it's about 2KM which is a good 30 min slow walk. 5. The buffet food was sadly below average. I tried a few items like the potato crisps ( basically sliced fried potato), fish balls and others and it was both hard and tasteless. The Select A.I is truely worth the upgrade. My friend and I were already on Basic AI which is the buffet food so when we got there, we upgraded to the Select AI ( payment is upfront at check in) which is charged at USD55/pax/day to upgrade and then add on the 22% taxes which works out to be USD67.76 per day per pax for the upgrade. GO FOR IT I say as the ala carte restaurants ( palm, Inguru, Kobe, Reef, Island BBQ) is really worth it!! Love the steaks and seafood ( which is really fresh). Palm restaurant has a fantastic Lagsana. I love it that I ordered it 2 times. Scallops at both Island BBQ and Reef was Fresh. Kobe also served really nice tepenyaki beef. Also a pretty decent selection of wins and liquors which for us is more than enough. Highly highly recommend that peeps upgrade. 6. Despite being on the Select AI, only the non alcoholic drinks in the mininbar in room was included. I would have expected EVERYTHING to be included but it isn't. Not a deal breaker but still I found it a little odd. 7. I have to mention the staff is awesome. Friendly and great service from all the wait staff, reception staff and Spa service. The wait staff at all the restaurants were always friendly and gave great service. I recall there was this lady who served me and my friend on the first night at Reef, she then remembered us when we met her at Inguru and subsequently again at kobe ( which shares the same restaurant space as Reef). I am afraid I cannot remember her name but we chatted with her and she is from India. 8. Housekeeping was great. They come twice a day to clean the room. We had this lovely man : yousouf ( I think that's how his name is spelt) who kept the room very clean. Thank you yousouf. We were very appreciative when he came back just to pass us 2 small hand towels. All in all, a great resort to go. Although it's huge 380 (?) rooms, and it was purportedly 90 to 95% occupancy.. it didn't feel crowded at all as the island is really quite big. most of the time, I am walking with my friend with nobody else around me. There will be an occasional guest or service staff walking by but not crowds. It's also a family friend island and the kids club looks big ( I was looking in from the outside). The sand bank is a must go esp in the late morning when the tide is coming in. Nice lovely walk. Don't forget to slather on the sun screen as it's REALLY HOT. The speedboat is about 1 hour 15 min ( in calm waters) to and fro the resort and Male airport for those who opt for the speedboat transfers. Price is now almost USD150 per pax return btw. I am not sure if I would come back again as there are just so many choices in the Maldives but would I recommend it to others who have not gone to maldives before? Yes, I would as long as they don't mind the big island feel. :)…
