Excellent trip, Just what we needed after the last couple of years! Relaxing ,comfort, swimming, dining, snorkelling followed by Spa treatment. We find this a great resort with the variety of accommodations. Beautiful sandy beach one side, and fantastic reef the other, importantly you can swim from the shore to the reef.

Hotel's Favorite
We recently returned from our second visit to Kuramathi in the last 5 months - we were not disappointed and are pleased to say that the impeccable standard & experience we had in November was repeated - top notch customer service, rooms, food, drinks and of course the all important kids dream of Bageecha Kids Club!! While we went as a family with 2 young kids, it is important to note we would return here in a heart beat without the kids!! Snorkling: We did considerably more snorkling during this visit - we swam on the reef with dolphins, turtles, reef sharks and all sorts of other fish you can imagine. We had a room on the reef side so we could simply paddle out from the beach in front of our room. Bring a Go-Pro or some sort of underwater camera to document the experience!! Food: We had opted for the full-board package and were therefore allocated the Farivalhu buffet restaurant. You will not be disappointed with the variety, quality and freshness of the food served at every meal. We stayed for nine (9) nights and were never disappointed nor did we feel that the food was repetitive. Top quality food which is on par or exceeds standard of 5 star buffet restaurant in Dubai. The a la carte restaurants are exceptional but we didn't get to try them on this occasion. Room: Once again we were in a 2-bed beach house which is super spacious and could accommodate 6 adults. It is a two story structure with massive living space on each floor, massive bathroom and situated directly on the beach with your own private beach chairs in front. For families, there will be very few hotels that could offer such a unique living arrangement and is one of the reason we came back! The rooms are cleaned daily and the staff are extremely attentive to ensure the room is spotless upon your return. Island experience: We explored the island some more this time - its about 1.2km in length which means you are able to do your morning jogs from one end to the other. The white sandbar at the end of the Island is mind blowing- and spectacular, beautiful spot to park yourself, watch the world go by and take some memorable photos. At the other end of the island they have one of 3 swimming pools (2 of which are infinity) - it is very close to the jetty where the beginner snorkling is done and the swimming pool amongst the palm trees in front of the white sand it just WOW! There are several restaurants/bars around it where you can order food or refreshments. In between these two points there are many bars, restaurants, coffee club, spa and swimming pools which offer a great ambiance. Evening entertainment: The island has a cracking band which plays at the various bars/restaurants. We decided to briefly watch the band at Laguna bar on this visit and were very impressed. These guys have incredible voices, play any cover on request and really get the crowd going with their enthusiasm. Again, a very nice added touch for those that want to listen to some live music in paradise! Bageecha Kids Club - For those with kids, this is a priceless gem of a feature of the resort. The staff at this club are just phenomenal and give you every peace of mind that the kids are happy & in good hands. The kids club has lunch and dinner available during the course of the day and will facilitate baby sitting for younger kids (from a couple of months) for a very reasonable hourly fee. The kids will be doing painting, crafting, dress-up costumes, beach walks, cooking/bbq experience, visit the ocean life educational center amongst the many other activities. The club also has a dedicated swimming pool with slides along with a splash park for the toddlers. Imagine this: family breakfast finished 10:30am, drop off kids at Bageecha at 11am, adult time of cocktails by pool followed by a peaceful lunch. This is followed by having to drag the kids out of the kids club at 2pm because they enjoy it so much and want to stay longer. This place is what makes the resort for families!! Overall a very pleasant experience and one we would like to repeat. This resort is like nonother that we have stayed at and one we would recommend to anyone!!

We stayed in the beginning of December 2021, with a group of 10 friends for relaxation and exchange of Vows . It was a fairytale indeed. Staff was very welcoming, helpful, friendly and kind. We often enjoyed cocktail in Dhoni bar, where have been served by waitress Happy . Even though we have been group of 10, she always knew who ordered what and every cocktail was served with a big smile :) Whole experience was amazing . Nature is breathtaking and colors are surreal. Food was excellent. Our week ended with Exchange of Vows on the Sandbank, which went like a fairytale. When people looked at our videos (taken by drone, as a part of a ceremony), some of them thought it was a trailer for new Hollywood movie. We will back for sure. Soon...

Returned home yesterday. Our 2nd trip to the Maldives and opted for a larger island this time so we could compare. I would say bigger in this case is certainly not better, just different. Will give an honest review based on our experience. PROS The most incredible beaches, with the most stunning sandbank. Honestly felt like I was on the most stunning place on earth. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Especially our two barmen in Laguna bar ( malintha and harshana). The rooms were spacious and clean. We had a beach house 389. Originally had one reef side but my hubby found it difficult to walk into the sea as there was a lot of coral and he has mobility issues. Food was soooo good. Really tasty fresh, hot food. Entertainment was in the bars but we didn’t go to it v much. Good snorkelling but not quite as good as I had expected it to be. Buggy’s on our trip we’re plentiful slowing u to get around the island easily. Cons Terrible start to the holiday. We were booked on the speedboat. Our cases weren’t quick in coming up and once they did we found kuoni rep. Took us to the dock to be told boat had gone without us. But told it’s fine. Wait inside for the next one 5hrs later.🤬. After a long flight we then had to stay in a tiny , hot food hall for 5 hrs having to buy all our food and drinks. No apology or voucher or anything. Got to the island. Met by a staff member and frog marched to reception. Not a welcome drink, warm towel for our hand or anything. Information was speedily given like we were just an annoyance. No niceties at all. Other island we had the staff playing drums to greet us , welcome drink, hot towels. Just made u feel special from the start. We were moved rooms as my hubby couldn’t cope getting into the sea reef side. Once we opened the curtains of the new villa all we saw was a huge bush which was so tall and wide that we had no view of anything else. Certainly did NOT pay a small fortune to spend two wks looking at that. Could do that in the uk. Asked to move and was met with whispers and tuts. To be fair they came and cut down the bush in half so we did have a view. Also on the you tube videos they indicate everything is included. Certainly is not. Apart from juice everything in minibar is extra. Went for an ice cream to be told that was also chargeable. So research it properly. The sun beds at pool by Laguna bar are awful. Like laying on a bed on nails and lots of tiles off in the pool. Needs a bit of tlc. My advice is don’t stay in a garden villa. That end of the island is a bit smelly and not as picturesque. Also celeb status def makes staff turn a blind eye. Topless is not allowed yet the lady next to us took it to another level and swam most days completely naked and sunbathed topless every day. . Having said the negatives, this is such a stunning island with so so many positives. Thank you for the most amazing memories I will treasure forever.

We have been to a few islands in this price range and this is one of the better ones. We loved the comfortable buggy rides along paths surrounded by the beautiful vegetation, with banyan trees, and an incredible variety of plants, The family villa on the beach was very nice, only one minor issue and that is, despite prior emails, the hotel could not provide two single beds for our teenage children, only a double and a day bed. The last part of our review is really only of interest to vegan visitors. We have struggled elsewhere as a vegan family in the Maldives but there was a lot of variety for us to eat here. For example, every morning, without asking, there was scrambled tofu at breakfast..In addition there were some tofu and vegetable dishes at dinner and a variety of Indian, Thai and Indonesian, curries, plus vegetable sushi one night. There was a big variety of fruit; lychees, grapefuit and, surprisingly, papaya was plentiful - some hotels seem to ration it. Our allocated buffet was opposite the Champagne bar. The head chef, Suminda, was very helpful and keen to provide us with whatever we asked for. He made sure we had vegan pancakes with maple syrup every morning and any other meals that we suggested, he was happy to provide. And we are grateful to Souvak who went out of his way to make sure we had soya milk for drinks in the room.
