Great resort - great staff. Lots to do and see. Plenty of food and drink options. Excellent all inclusive menus and drinks. Rooms super clean and well maintained by smiley happy staff. Pristine beaches and great walks in local vegetation. If you are looking for a island with more to do that just wallow on the beach this is the place.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed 8 nights with 2 young kids and everyone had a AMAZING time. We will definitely be back and would not hesitate to come back without the kids! Island ambiance: The island is sufficiently large to have an hour long walk in the morning to get some steps and equally small enough to be able to easily walk to a restaurant, bar or the beach from your room (there are facilities across the island with 3 swimming pools, 3 main full board restaurants, many ala carte restaurants/bars and two dive shops. House Reef: Snorkling from the jetty at the end of the Island was easily accessible, beautiful and picturesque. We saw all the kinds of fish you can imagine including a Turtle!! There were also dolpins near the reef one of the days that you could see and hear. Restaurants: The food on the island was exceptional and matches any 5 star hotel we have been to!! We tried the ala carte a couple of times which was top-class but we mostly ate at the main restaurant as part of full-board. The fullboard restaurant put on an amazing spread of food at each of breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food was fresh, varied and caters to all pallets. The deserts were equally out of this world!! Rooms: The rooms are very well maintained, spacious and equipped to cater to any guests needs. We stayed in a two bed beach house which was just perfect with kids and made the whole experience so easy – the rooms are massive and allow for the perfect get away where the kids get their own separate room. The room opens up to the white sand and the lagoon – private beach beds are there too for you to use. The rooms are cleaned twice a day to an exceptional standard and the staff were always very thorough in their approach. Kids Club: the BEST KIDS club we have ever seen. Having seen many kids clubs over the years, Bageecha Kids Club is in a league of its own. The manager Sara and her staff really make the kids feel welcome. The activities are all hands on and activity based. Our kids did painting, dancing, drawing, swimming, beach walks etc etc …… we had to litterally drag them out at the end of the day and they did not want to come with us. The facilities are top-noch and they provide a baby sitter at a reasonable price for under 3yr olds. It was amazing to have a couple of hours (sometimes more) of adult time while the kids had a great time in the club. Staff: All the staff members at the hotel from the concierge, house keeping, restaurants, kids club, diving shop and all other places were so welcoming and helpful. The hotel really made you feel at home and this added a special touch. COVID awareness: The hotel clearly had implemented excellent preventative measures to make everyone feel safe and give peace of mind. This place will blow your mind with the variety of food available (both in buffet and Ala Carte), the activities/services offered on the island and if traveling with kids, the Bageecha Kids Club will really give you peace of mind to be able to relax and know your kids are in excellent hands & having a great time!!!

It is a beautiful Maldivian island. Unlike other Maldivian resorts, the staff were not friendly. Uncomfortable transportation on the island. Long walks between the room, restaurant and other locations on the island. Poor food variety.

Tips followed by blurb.... Tip 1: get an early flight so you can get to the island with enough time to explore, settle in and basically have a full day on site. Tip 2: ask for a room close to one of the restaurants / bar - you can then make the most of the all inclusive instead of drinking the room beverages - you may have to pay for some of the drinks in the room depending on your package. Tip 3 - snorkel down by the pier, you will be graced with sightings of decent sized reef tip sharks as well as a multitude of other sea life - but don't hold the rope, stingy things live there. Its their home. Tip 4 - the area next to the Island Coffee shop is a great place for mini snorkelers... mini sharks swim there and its very shallow Tip 5 - be safe in the sea, inside the reef its very calm but the coral will be sharp. Outside the reef can be rough and kids must be supervised. Tip 6 - although paid for (dependent on package) The Island Coffee shop is a nice place for a la carte lunch, snacks, dinner Tip 7 - milkshakes at the Palm near the Kids club. Tip 8 - take what you need. Baby milk, nappies... over pack. Even baby snacks for that void in All Inclusive in the mid-afternoon. The restaurants put on sarnies and fruit but kids are a pain and want snacks at annoying times... worth stocking up. Tip 9 - make the effort to learn about the RO desalination plant, the ecology center and go on a nature walk. The Kuramathi resort is outstanding. When we arrived I was a little taken aback by the 'group' approach to check in, herded into groups by room type / accommodation area, handed a welcome drink and sat down in theater style seats was off putting. But this is the ONLY negative of the entire trip. The accommodation is stunning. We had a two bedroom beach villa which with the kids is preferable to a over water villa. On our first morning I opened the curtains and immediately spotted a baby reef tip shark gliding by in the water just a couple of meters out from the shoreline. And that was that... Kuramathi had my heart. The accommodation team had a challenge in our family yet someone managed to keep the room sand free, clean and dry! The outside bathrooms are such a wonderful part of the experience. And great place to store children who will find plenty to play with for 30 mins! I really couldn't have dreamt of any more from the accommodation. The kids club is exceptional. Sara and her team of highly experienced and loyal staff took the baby and entertained him for hours with total confidence. He had a blast and we have photos, artwork and memories to prove it. This superb childcare - which by the way is available every day until late - meant that the older kids and parents could explore the island. Its quite small... but there is plenty to do. Snorkeling with larger reef sharks by the boat pier is such a privilege as is watching the clown fish play in their anemone home. Exercise is easy - plenty of guests ran up and down the center path or around the island... you can walk from one end to the other in about 45 mins. Food was good. I was actually really surprised by the variety of the buffet. The chefs take a great deal of care meal planning so that you don't feel its repetitive. The waiting staff were attentive and generous with their energy in spite of being busy. The resort is home to one of only 3 decompression chambers in the Maldives - with this they have a well equipped clinic. Great for emergencies... even better for the new normal and Covid tests... it done on site, no hassle, organized by the staff. We stayed for a week. This was long enough.. 5 days would probably be enough. It genuinely was stunning - made exceptional by the staff. We will be back.
