Dear guest, Thank you for your honest and informative feedback. We are always looking to improve our service wherever we can for our guests. To this end we have noted your comment about fruit on the included breakfast menu. It is already an option, but we have now moved it to be included in the main part of the breakfast menu. Our property is in a beautiful, environmental part of Bali, surrounded by nature, so its correct that lizards and frogs make their home in the garden, But they can only make their way into the rooms if the doors are left open, so we encourage guests to close them by evening, as the light attracts them. Generally the sounds of nature are a joy for guests leaving often noise-filled lives, but we do understand that guests need their space too! We don't provide bathroom slippers as we're trying to avoid a lot of unnecessary waste products, and moving towards being plastics free and environmentally friendly. Our housekeeping staff visit each room twice in a day, so rooms are fresh and clean, but the lizard droppings may happen occasionally, but I hope not too often. Guests generally eat in our large, well-lit restaurant. We do offer room service too for those who prefer, but the open porches at night are lit, and may attract lizards and night insects. We are located in the area of traditional villages and rice fields, so our website is promoting the Balinese cultural experience of being introduced to this through our free guided village tour through the rice paddies and local Keliki village. Many guests feel this is a highlight of their visit, and access the walk through the property's organic garden. Our hope is that guests will leave feeling a connection to this real and culturally authentic part of Bali. Kind regards, Aprile Denise Alam Sari Resort

We stayed after a recommendation from a friend but unfortunately our 1 night stay did not live up to expectation. Positives: the hotel is beautiful, lush vegetation is all across the property. The rooms have pretty 4 poster beds & are unique with a mini covered garden in the bath

Dear Vicky, Wow, I'm sorry you had that experience. I'm not sure what happened as our menus are normally loved by guests, as you see had also read from previous comments. I've spent time with my kitchen staff discussing the issues, and we are putting measures in place to ensure consistency of the experience. That is correct about the breakfast menu, as our juices are freshly pressed, and we cant make it cost effective to have them in the included breakfast. Many hotels offer a commercial packaged juice at breakfast, but the sugar content is often high, and hard to know what is really in them. They also come in plastic containers, so for all these reasons we only offer the tea/coffee included. You can order a beautifully fresh pressed juice off our main menu and still at a reasonable cost. I don't think my staff would have given you the full explanation. I'm glad the rest of your experience was positive, and if you do decide to return please inform me so I can personally welcome you at our resort. Thank you for your stay, Kind regards, Aprile Denise

Thank you for your review and we're very happy you enjoyed your stay at Alam Sari. We are definitely not near to any nightclubs, but we are just 20 minutes to Ubud, and arrange a shuttle 3 times a day to take you there. We welcome families and our staff love to share their local knowledge of the area and its culture. We look forward to welcoming you back to Alam Sari...essence of Bali.

Thank you for sharing your experience and recommending Alam Sari to others. Our best hope is that our guests will experience the "real Bali" away from the tourist filled areas, and meet the Balinese families living in the nearby villages. We offer the free village tour so guests can experience firsthand how traditional Bali continues to value the culture and customs passed on through generations. While the modern world is of course bringing change, there is much we can learn from our Balinese friends. Alam Sari welcomes you into this world.
