2022 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Inspired by the early European settlers from the 1800s, architect Bill Bensley designed Capella Ubud, Bali as a tribute to their spirit of adventure. Our refined tents are more than a hotel. Constructed within the trees and hidden from afar, it captures the imagination of those who seek a unique experience at the heart of Bali’s untouched natural surroundings. Within the camp are twenty-two one-bedroom tents as well as one two-bedroom lodge, all with private salt water pools.

Move over Disneyland- there is a real happy place on earth and this is it. Capella Ubud is a magical, paradisiacal place on earth unlike any other. This is not a typical resort, it is an incomparable experience. My family and I were fortunate enough to stay here for several nights on our trip to Bali. We had chosen two keliki "tents" that were next to each other; privacy for us parents while knowing that our children were in their own secure tent steps away from us. Note that our children are teens so this set up worked well for us. The decor of each tent is unique and breathtaking. The tents are equipped with everything that you could ever need or want and the culturists (its a made up word for butler) take care of literally everything! The hospitality here is unrivaled, the general manager is the most professional and consummate host and he personally ensures that each guest is well taken care of. The food is absolutely delicious with lots of vegetarian options and the omikase menu at Api Jiwa also has a plant based option! The breakfast is outstanding with many different options from various cuisines. This resort is nestled into the jungle but we did not see a single insect or lizard inside our tents. One word of warning when you choose Capella Ubud- you will never want to leave its confines, we rarely did and we are happy with that choice. There is so much to do and enjoy on these grounds you need not venture anywhere else. No trip to Bali would be complete without a stay here. Do not second guess yourself- book now!

Dear Azarmeen J, Warmest greetings from your Capella home in Ubud, Bali. “The happiest place on earth”; we’re forever grateful for such an amazing accolade and we’re extremely delighted you enjoyed your holiday. Family vacations are the highlight of the year, thank you for entrusting us with such a precious adventure with your family and we’re elated your experience was so magical. The Keliki Valley Tents are a perfect combination as you discovered for you and your teenage children allowing for privacy yet being conveniently close. Our two-bedroom tent called “The Lodge” is also a beautiful alternative for families when it’s available. The beauty of Bensley designs is stepping into the story and it’s wonderful to read you treasured this imaginative wonderland, the creativity, attention to detail and decorative touches. We try to anticipate everything for you, however if any need comes along, our dedicated team of Culturists have a wonderful network to source anything one desires. Our Culinary team are extremely happy your family enjoyed their food in addition to the selection of vegetarian, western, Asian, breakfasts and Api Jiwa our Omakase signature setting. Being nestled within the forest, as one does when camping, allows guests to be as one with Mother Nature and we’re so thankful the animal kingdom remained outside your tents. We make every effort possible to prohibit intruders while still being sensitive to the atmosphere utilizing natural inhibitors to keep pests away. Azarmeen J, thank you for sharing such valuable family memories from your recent stay and should your travels return you to the Island of the Gods, you will always have a Capella home in Ubud. In Appreciation, Mark Mark Swinton General Manager

It's easy to see why this stunning resort won the title of Best Resort in the World! This is not your average stay. Every inch of this property has been designed with purpose and so much thoughtfulness. It really has been designed to be at one with nature. The trees protruding through our "tent" (it's funny to call one of the most luxury resort rooms ever a tent) were like they perfectly designed as part of the space. Everything is luxury about this stay, but at the same time you still get the thrill of being one with nature. We loved the officer's tent to chill out in and also loved that the pools were heated. They were the perfect temperature for a dip at anytime of day. The food was as delicious as you'd expect from a resort of this calibre, as was the service. We really enjoyed our family purification ritual, painting classes and having a massage is a must during a stay here!! We had a wonderful family stay but this would also make for the most memorable honeymoon experience too! Certainly not a place we will ever forget.

My wife and I just stayed for 5 nights here and wish we stayed longer. Time flies so fast at this amazing resort even in the slow-life city like Ubud. We stayed at the tent named Naturalist tent which is in the Keliki valley category. At first we thought the privacy would be a problem since the tent is located just next to the main pool but turn out it really didn't bother us at all for the whole period and we ended up like its location near the main facilities. The room design is very beautiful, spacious, and super comfortable. We had good night sleeps for the whole 5 nights. It's very well maintained and super super clean. I don't find any flaw in the room really. The service is also exceptional. All the camp hosts provide service beyond my expectation. I do want to mention every name here but afraid I'd miss out some name here. Everything's so smooth and this is not possible without the attention of everyone at the resort. We love this! We really really enjoy the spa here. Coming from Thailand, we've visited many many spas in our country. We thought we've found the best spa in Thailand but we're so wrong. The spa at Capella Ubud's maybe one of the best spa we've ever been to. Their therapists are very skillful and we had consistently good massages 4 times during the stay. It's sensational. Foods are very good too, we like the local selection of breakfast menu. They're all very yummy. Some downside maybe the food serving is quite slow. Please don't plan activities back to back after the meal as it may delay your schedule. It's better to give a good period of time for dining and just enjoy the magnificent view from the restaurant. We like the campfire at night. We're there every night for the hot chocolate. They screen the local black & white film without sound every night. I'd love it more if some night they do a movie night with classic or modern film for a more engaging experience. All in all, it's a very happy stay and we do enjoy every part of it. All the activities, food, spa, pool, sleep quality, service, they are all wonderful. We'll certainly come back here when we go to Bali again!

Dear jirat, Warmest greetings from your Capella home in Ubud, Bali. Thank you very much for your recent five night stay and we’re extremely pleased you enjoyed the comfort of the Naturalist Tent. As you kindly highlight this tent is conveniently located near the public area yet secluded enough to allow for guest’s privacy. In addition we’re very happy to know you found the tent to be spacious, beautifully designed, well cleaned and you were able to enjoy quality sleeps throughout your stay. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the Auriga Spa and found it to be one of the best spas you have ever been to. This is an incredible accolade knowing the high standards and international recognition of spas in Thailand, thank you for your appreciation and we’re most happy you found the treatments sensational. Food is such an exciting aspect of one’s vacation and we’re delighted you found the array of Indonesian, Asian and western choices so tasty. Thank you for sharing your feedback related to the timing of food service at the restaurant which we have well noted and will make every effort possible to improve. The Camp Fire is a magical location to finish the evening and thank you for your great insight of creating a broader selection of movies and movie nights! The entire camp family appreciates your words, “All the camp hosts provide service beyond my expectation.” We’re delighted you found our hospitality to be smooth and attentive, your kind words are greatly appreciated. Jirat, thank you for your valuable time to provide such insightful feedback that we sincerely appreciate. Nothing would provide us greater happiness than welcoming you back someday soon. I don't know where to start except that Capella Ubud and its team gave us the most memorable and magical experience imaginable. Before we traveled, I was in touch with Sukram who is one of Capella's Culturists. He helped arrange a private itinerary for us, made the staff aware of my dietary restrictions, travel from the airport to Capella and then to Seminyak after our stay (included with the hotel stay), and VIP airport arrival service (an additional fee and worth every penny to avoid lines and navigating the

We had planned a family holiday in Bali after 3 years. Stayed 5 days in StRegis (Excellent Food and Service) and 4 days in Lodge of Capella. Capella has Excellent :- Resort design n ambience… Super Spa therapist. Over all good staff. Interior is more like a movie set for Steven Stelbergs movie. Lovely Views of Greenry Poor :- Experience on all kind of food weather breakfast Dinner , hardly any veg options. Nor dose chef understands out of menu items. Breakfast not at all for a 5 star category. Incests is an issue so if sensitive should avoid the place. Transit between places is also cumbersome. Any health issue should avoid this place. I m also aur paired by Award given by Travel & As Best resort in world. Not at all with Thai type of food options. I went with family to captains deck in late eve for a drink n some action at only glowing place in the resort. Staff was not at all interested in welcoming u. I feel they r more focused on Pre informed clients only. They need to really look into the resort experience with being most expensive in Bali with poor staff responses in common areas and poor food. We can’t survive here as nothing is nearby for food options near the resort.

We spent a few days in this hotel which is very charming as it is in the middle of a forest so you have your tent over the river and among the birds. Service is top notch and you have dedicated staff for your tent. Food was delicious at the restaurant. Nice pool in the forest. Aperitif in the officers tent in the evening is a sought after event. Hotel is near Ubud which we recommend to visit to feel the spirit of the island, also the hotel is organizing excursions to rice paddies and temples with private chauffeur at affordable price.

Capella Ubud is perhaps the most unique and magical luxury hotel I have ever had the fortune to visit. Everything is seamless and personalised - from the service, to the food, the beautiful tents, spa and array of activities on offer. The entire hotel encapsulates Ubud’s spirit as it masterfully merges with its natural surroundings. You will find yourself completely immersed in Balinese culture as soon as you step into the property and this is something that will linger with you beyond your departure. It is rare to find a place that is not only unique but executed to perfection in the luxury hotel sector. The star of the show is API JIWA where we enjoyed a Michelin star quality omakase experience. Chef Nico has elevated Indonesian cuisine and crafted an almost theatrical dining experience in the heart of Ubud’s jungle. Even if you decide not to stay at the hotel, you must dine at this restaurant!
