The place is magical, it have a wonderful views, and the staff was like family for me, also their restaurant have the best food in the world, because they grow their ingredients in their backyard , it restores your whole being :)
Sarinbuana Eco Lodge was hands down the best place we have ever stayed. After staying for two nights and leaving for Ubud, we came back almost immediately because we missed the tranquil nature of the place so much. Every single element of the property is perfect: The food - freshly cooked made to order meals straight from the organic permaculture garden The staff - the most friendly and engaging staff all from the local village who tend to any need you have The activities - amazing slow-tourism activities learning about local cultures and wildlife The accommodation - incredible private rooms with views to die for We loved every minute of this relaxing holiday, getting away from the hustle and bustle of normal life in the most beautiful and tranquil place on earth. The owners are also lovely people who are always on hand to chat and give recommendations.…
We only had 3 nights at the Eco Lodge but 5 mins in we were wishing for more. This place is literally heaven on earth. You will fall in love with everything about it. You are up in the mountains so expect ants, mosquito's etc. It's all part of the wonder they have created. There's ant spray and mosquito nets provided. The bed was comfy , there is a mini bar with drinks, Vegan cheese and crackers, an incredible bathroom. And when the sun comes up you open your shutters to the most amazing view of the rai forest. There is so much to do you'll never have time to get to all the activities. Guided walks, carving, cooking, bike rides. A must do is a stroll down to the waterhole, a slice of heaven at the foot of a water fall. You can climb up to another waterhole above. The food in the Restaurant is amazing and almost everything is gathered from their own gardens. Each meal was a delight, and they cater for Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian. Their staff are all beautiful without exception and looked after us so generously. We simply cannot wait to go back, Thankyou for an amzing stay, it was healing and heavenly .…
Firstly I must congratulate Linda, Lars and their family on creating this paradise in a very unspoilt and rural part of Bali. It is a work of art that has been many years in the making and their eco creds are faultless. It is a beautifully crafted concept that is totally in keeping with its wild jungle environment. We chose the Jungle Bungalow and were delighted with our choice. The veranda offers a spectacular, and I mean truly spectacular, view of the jungle. Each morning we would get up at sunrise to listen to the dawn chorus which was well worth it. The kitchen provides a flask of hot water and coffee, tea etc for early-risers as breakfast is served at 08.00. Nice touch. The bungalow was extremely comfortable and provides your every need. There is a water container for filling up your bottles, a hot shower and very comfy beds. Not having air conditioning is not a challenge at all as the nights are wonderfully cool. I had the best sleep I've had in ages. We made full use of the various tours on offer. We did the Temple and Rainforest Walks which were excellent, but the highlight for us was the mountain bike option. We would thoroughly recommend this. A guide accompanies you on very good bikes on pretty decent road (beware of chickens and wild dogs) and it's downhill all the way to a wild beach. You journey through some lovely scenery - luscious rice terraces and picturesque villages. You don't see a single tourist. The food was absolutely delicious and there's a strong emphasis on vegan fare. We particularly liked the scrambled tofu for breakfast and their chocolate mousse is to die for. The local wines are also very palatable. At weekends, if there are at least four guests, they will organise a fire-pit and pizzas under the stars cooked from their custom built outdoor oven. I probably had the best pizza I've ever had. And for those arachnophobics like me, I didn't see one single eight-legged friend! Whew. So thank you Linda et al, your lovely staff and variety of animals, for an unforgettable experience of Bali. We will definitely return one day.…
This was a truely memorable experience. The early morning yoga in the Bale, a traditional Balinese pavilion surrounded in rainforest, with a view on Mount Batukaru, serenaded by a dawn chorus of bird calls. A swim in the fresh water pool watching frogs and fish share the natural paradise. The restaurant is spectacular with delicious food, even a birthday cake for that special day. We enjoyed the informative tour of the permaculture garden and Balinese cooking class. A great stay, Thank you ✨
We stayed in Rumah Manis, which is the furthest room from the entrance (with many steps, which we expected from the website info) and it has the most wonderful view of the valley and beyond. The food was also a highlight. There is a range of items available on the menu but I liked to choose whatever was highlighted as the day's special as it was always a skilfully curated blend of fresh ingredients and Balinese flavours. This is such a good way to experience Bali away from the tourist crowds. The Eco Lodge offers a range of activities to explore the surrounding environment and gain insight into the life of the community, but it is also a wonderful place to rest and tune into the rhythm of the rainforest. The Eco Lodge has worked hard to create an environmentally sustainable operation. It was a pleasure to experience it. …
A beautifully nurtured family run Eco lodge which is a real oasis at which to relax, unwind and enjoy the true Bali. Staff are super friendly and helpful and the food is amazing cooked with care from ingredients grown in the lodge's own organic gardens. The bungalows are all set into the hillside at different levels and well apart from each other in the manicured (but not too so) gardens with wonderful views but retaining complete privacy. The natural water swimming pool is a delight and a pizza from the pizza oven is not to be missed. Abandon the frenetic crowds of Kuta, head up to the hills (the lodge can arrange transport for you) and relax in true Bali.
Our family (including kids ages 6 and 8) loved the Eco Lodge - the accommodations, staff, guided walks, food, pool and environment were all highlights! We especially appreciated the opportunity to learn about the environment and culture on a guided temple walk. We were also able to see where the food comes from and help to prepare some of it. As a city person, I was concerned about bugs, but that really was not an issue while we were there. If you are in Bali, definitely plan to spend at least a couple nights here!
We stayed with friends and family for a total of 3 kids (9, 8, and 6) and 4 adults in two bungalows. The staff was warm and welcoming. The bungalows were cute and cozy. The kids loved the mosquito netting around the beds. The property is beautiful and has many thoughtful details such as the pool, koi pond, bamboo bale, etc. Clearly a lot of love and attention has gone into this place. A couple people in our group, including a kid, participated in a tour of the permaculture garden. And all kids helped the staff feed the animals. Our favorite activity was a guided temple walk (approx 5 km) with an amazing guide named Wayan. She clearly loves to teach and enjoys children, because she told us all about the plants and land as we walked, made leaf hats and umbrellas for the kids, and taught them to make stars and boxes from palm fronds. We also learned a lot about Hinduism and their temple. She helped us experience this while guiding us on how to be respectful while in the temple. Highly recommend this activity, especially with kids. The food was amazing! We felt very well fed, because we loved every meal, 3 meals a day. The second night we requested a BBQ dinner, and as part of a cooking class we helped make the marinade for the chicken and other components of the meal. It turned out amazing and the cooking class, which my 9 year old helped with, was very fun. We enjoyed the food so much we asked them to make sandwiches for us to take with us the day we checked out. As for the nature aspect, my sister and I were nervous because we both have an irrational fear of spiders and we weren’t sure what to expect with the open bungalows. I am sure there are spiders around but we didn’t see any. Our bungalow did have quite a few ants in the bathroom, but when we mentioned that we were given a bottle of vinegar to spray to keep down the number. As a moderately outdoorsy person, this was not a problem for me. The weather was very pleasant. We had doors and windows open most of the time, with long pants/sleeves at night. It lightly rained once. In summary, this was a beautiful area and a truly wonderful experience. I highly recommend it.…
This is a truly magical treetop hideaway. I fell completely and utterly in love with the people and the place. You are entirely nourished by the land by way of food and shelter, while Linda, Norm and their team work hard to ensure that the land and its produce are protected and sustained in return. It' s a truly inspirational place in terms of both beauty and ethos and the food is utterly delicious, incredible balinese dishes using fresh from the garden produce (shout out to the snake fruit crumble!) A place to renew, revive and wonder at the beauty of nature from the Jungle to their own waterfalls. The lodges themselves are utterly beautiful, I loved sharing my shower with a gecko! We left feeling refreshed and whole.
