The retreat offered everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Friendly staff, lovely spacious room, exquisite gardens and excellent food. We were picked up from our hotel in Ubud and returned three days later feeling relaxed and refreshed. Our trek up Mt Batukaru was a highlight; although quite difficult and not for the faint-hearted it was a wonderful... More

This retreat was the perfect end to a two week trip around Bali -- remote, peaceful, scenic and special. The property offers plenty of unique spaces for writing, yoga and meditation -- where you can enjoy the air, smell the flowers and see the volcano off in the distance. My Lotus Bungalow small house was particularly unique - off on... More

I am very happy to have discovered such a sweet place. The property is beautiful and quiet. The owners are really nice, and the staff is super sweet. Two epic yoga spaces with props are available for guests to use. I really enjoyed the mellow and relaxing pace of Bali Mountain Retreat. I truly had a wonderful time and would... More

Our 4 day stay at the Bali Mountain Retreat was fabulous. Our room was pleasant, clean, and relaxing. The surroundings offered treats for the eye at every turn. The common buildings are stunning Javanese structures, lovingly transported and resurrected, onto the property. Teak carvings abound. The landscaping is meticulously wild and beautiful. The "bird's nest" offers a sweet sunrise view... More

This is an amazing place to stay in Bali. Quiet, in the mountains, beautiful, with the best hospitality you could imagine. Delicious food. Beautiful accommodation. We learned offering-making, had local girls dance for us, and had a closing fire circle for our group of 10. The place is spacious, laid out over a wide area, and including things like a... More

The retreat is located in the nature, far away from all touristy places but it has everything you need to relax, eat well, learn about the Balinese culture and discover the jungle. The retreat sits in a beautifully arranged exotic garden, with small paths connecting the buildings. There is a cosy restaurant with a view over the valleys of the... More

In july we took a group of 12 to the Bali Mt Retreat. When we arrived, the air was cool and sweet, after the smells and heat of the city of Ubud. Richard greeted us and in minutes we were all in our rooms, with the right luggage already there. Our first meal was cooked by their amazing staff of... More

The moment I walked in I felt at home. The grounds are impeccably kept, the staff are wonderful and the rooms are perfect. There was absolutely no fault with this accommodation. All the meals are cooked fresh with local ingredients. The owners are incredible hosts with big hearts and a genuine love and interest for their guests. The staff are... More

If you like staying like in the midst of a jungle, don’t mind going to the bathroom with slugs on the wall, in the sink, and on your toothbrush, and spiders on your doors, and tree frogs jumping into your room, then this place is not too bad for guesthouse or lodge in the mountains. My hubby told me a... More

This was my absolute favorite place in Bali. The rooms were spotless and the attention to detail exquisite. My room had flowers and a beautifully appointed bath, a porch overlooking the lush scenery. The paths where's wept every morning, and the food was delicious. Every single meal was great and made on the spot. It feels very private, quiet, elegant.... More
