Where do I begin? It is absolutely amazing here. The view is amazing. It is so relaxing here, like a little oasis. I can not begin to describe how perfect, neat and clean everything is. The room is always perfectly cleaned. In they evening they set your bed with the mosquito net, close all windows and curtains, to prepare your room for the night and keep insects and mosquitos out. It's all high quality built and the furniture is chosen from around the world with love for details. The aesthetic is wonderful and gives you that Bali feel everyone is talking about.
The staff is super attentive. They always know who you are, they don't ask you every single time for your room or your name, cause they already know who is infront of them. If you go on a trip around Bali and mentioned it once, someone will ask you how your trip was when they see you again. I mentioned my peanut allergy to one person and everyone here knows and always makes sure, that I order nothing wrong. And everyone here us really super friendly and.make you feel like home.
Sidemen, where the resort is located, is so beautiful. You are in the middle of lush green Bali.
It truly was an amazing experience and I do recommend absolutely everyone to stay here. It was a magical experience and I will definitely come here again when I come back to Bali.

We read about this place in Lonely Planet, looked at the website and then read the reviews. We have travelled to many places and our expectation was very high.

We have now stayed here for 3 days and it has delivered Expectaion + 10.
The location is sublimely and beautifully serene whilst still retaining a completely natural setting.
The accommodations are glamorous, natural and feature the most thoughtful tiny detail. We slept with the bi fold doors open on our two balconies and fell asleep to the sounds of the forest and the warm valley breeze. We woke to the theatre of the valley bathed in sunshine and gently going about its business.
The food is healthy, beautifully prepared and presented and leaves literally no reason or desire to leave the hotel.
The staff here are incredibly considerate, caring and deliver a level of service that is difficult to beat.
The villas are spread through beautiful gardens, water features and cascading levels of breathtaking surprises.
You can safely come here with the very highest expectations and there will still be the tiny details here that leave you feeling emotional.
We only review either exceptional places or the places that are to be avoided. We’re certainly not serial reviewers but Samanvaya is the very best of some amazing places we’ve stayed.
The place and the staff and the location welcome you in and care for you in a way that leaves you feeling very much at Peace with the World.

We stayed for 4 nights in January, it was meant to be 3 but had to stay on one more night. This is one of the most special places I've ever been. It is run by two lovely Kiwi's who have hired amazing Balinese local staff to help them run the place. The view is breathtaking and you can watch in from the day beds by the pool which is where we spent most of our time. The rooms are unique, beautiful, super clean and cosy as well as simultaneously open allowing the bali breeze and beautiful surroundings to flow in. The service is amazing, they have a turn down service every night and leave herbal tea bags and chocolates on the bed for you. The staff are so so so lovely, kind and selfless, and will go out of their way to make your stay amazing. Beds are very comfy, food is delicious and well priced. The highlights for us were the massages - oh my sweet lord, the BEST massages we had in bali and reasonably priced. If you do any of the activities, do the trekking or motorbike tour. We walked through the rice paddies with an incredibly knowledgeable, helpful guide and felt like we truly connected with Bali. If you are looking for a less touristy, beautiful, experience and want to stay in a stunning, blissful and loved place with exceptional service - stay here!

Samanvaya is a beautiful property nestled in the gorgeous Sideman Valley and a breath of fresh air away from the hustle and bustle of the busy southern Bali bubble - and only 90mins driving in a car! The resort itself is pristine and well cared for, with beautiful landscaping and planting to fit the natural scenery, beautifully appointed accommodations as befitting a resort of this quality, 2 beautiful infinity pools surrounded with Bale's and sun-loungers all directed toward the beautiful valley views and surrounding hills and ranges. The staff were so helpful and just delightful young people who couldn't do enough for you. They are to be commended. The meals we had from breakfast included, to lunch and dinner, were delicious with a good variety of modern and local meals but done with a fresh twist which was nice to see the attention to detail. The decor throughout the property including the rooms, is very stylish and comfortable and you can see the owners have put a lot of thought into the small detail which is appreciated. We also did a local rice paddy trek with one of their staff and a guided scooter ride to Jagasutra waterfall - thoroughly recommend both those experiences for the shear joy of the outdoors and the wonderful scenery in this area. This waterfall is one of the smaller waterfalls locally but it was beautiful and we had the whole place to ourselves to wade and shallow swim beneath it. Gorgeous. If you need a getaway as a couple or even solo, or with other couples, then this is a wonderful place to come and chill and refresh. Thank you Tracey and Rob!!

This is really an amazing place to stay in. Some highlights (for us at least) were: 1. It is an adults- only resort - no children below 16 years are allowed. This gives the place a relaxed atmosphere that we miss in many other places in Bali and elsewhere. What a wise (and brave?) decision of the management to introduce this policy (only 1.5 years ago we believe). It definitely contributed to our satisfaction from this place. 2. The small scale of this resort – just 12 bungalows/ rooms gives the charming local staff the chance to personally interact with the guests. We had the impression that the staff is very well informed and trained. Bravo for the management and owners . 3. The room we had had an amazing balcony with views, and was tastefully designed and decorated. 4. The infinity pool has amazing views and comfortable relax beds. 5. The restaurant has very good food 6. The walking tour that was arranged for us was one of the best we ever had. There are many other activities on offer. 7. They have nice mountain bikes that guests can use. We cycled to the village nearby and it was great. 8. There is a “ happy hour” policy between 18:00-19:00 . 9. There is a nightly “ turndown service” where the mosquito net is installed around your bed . 10. Most room have no air co but this is unnecessary due to the mountain location , there is an effective ceiling fan though
Try to stay at least 3 full days to fully appreciate the area and this special memorable place.

Samanvaya is absolutely beautiful and you couldn’t ask for better service. All the staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating, here to make your stay as perfect as possible. The views are lovely, the pool is gorgeous, the loungers are comfortable and the food is great. I particularly appreciate that there’s always filtered water available and no plastic water bottles.
There are bugs and small lizards around and occasionally in the room/bathroom, as is the case in places like this in nature, and there’s no AC in the rooms, but we’re here at a very hot time and we still were able to sleep ok.
Would definitely recommend! Loved the hike through the rice terraces as well.

Ten out of Ten experience! Sideman is now my new favorite area of Bali, it’s absolute paradise and this resort was the perfect place for my wife and I to enjoy a quiet and romantic week for her birthday.
We rented an incredible 2 level villa that was very private and secluded with amazing views of the surrounding hills and ricefields and we could see all the way to the ocean. The stylish furnishings, interior design and attention to detail was very noticeable. The food is exceptional and we enjoyed most of our meals in our villa enjoying the view or other times by one of the two infinity pools in a big day bed. Cocktail hour to enjoy the amazing sunsets was never missed in the bar and they have an excellent wine list.
The hotel staff and owners were extremely friendly and helpful, assisting us with places to visit in the local area or arranging amazing treatments at their day spa. They have mountain bikes for guests to use and we had a couple of nice adventures exploring the quiet country roads in the area receiving friendly smiles from the locals everywhere we went. After a long bike ride we really appreciated a soak in the hot tub by the pool watching the stars. Next to our villa they have a beautiful big open Yoga shala with mats and blocks which my wife enjoyed a lot for yoga & meditation. The resort is so peaceful and quiet, you don’t hear any traffic, we always slept very well. Well done Samanvaya team, you'll be seeing us again soon i'm sure. Best wishes.

We had a couple of days in this gorgeous retreat tucked away into the hills of Bali. It is a great find with stunning bamboo stand alone rooms with perfect views over the green green land. The bed are like clouds and I slept with the doors wide open on both nights. It was blissful waking up with that view and such fresh air. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. The resort has two pools, a pretty restaurant and a cafe/bar. The continental breakfast brought to my room was perfect with warm pastries, house made granola and tropical fruit. The resort offers day trips and trekking and there is a spa. I had a chakra massage from a Balinese priest which was amazing and included a perceptive psychic reading from this skilled spiritual leader. We also jumped on the back of two scooters, behind the driver, and took a scenic route to a stunning white sand beach. It was so fun and a real treat because the drivers were locals are knew a lot of interesting info. This is the ‘real’ Bali of legend. The sea war crystal clear and lovely to swim in. I’ll definitely be back. Also, they have a no kids policy so it was blissfully adult!

Thank you to the Samanvaya Team and hosts Rob and Tracey for their incredible hospitality and overall amazing facility. This is a true Gem and should be on all Bali Visitors radar as the property, nestled in a gorgeous Valley to the north, approx 1.5hrs form Sanur on East Coast is truly worth it. Note is Child free, so the peace is exaggerated ;)
Rooms, with very comfy bed and quality linen, are well fitted with very pleasant, modern decor set in traditional styled Cottages or more authentic Lumbang's.
Choice of multi swimming Pools and Spa's with plenty of daybeds to find your own secluded space.
Afternoon cocktails at the Bar is great to meet some other guests and if lucky enough, the owners..
The Restaurant has a good selection of diverse dishes on offer for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner covering local and Western, great Pizza's need be noted all accompanied with a very fair wine list. Yoga was brilliant with a lovely Shala, my partner took a massage treatment and rated it very highly.

Amazing experience. Went there with the romantic package from the website, and was pleasantly surprised at every point. Came in to our villa, greeted with ice cold sparkling wine and fresh local fruit platter. the villa itself was really beautiful, with an amazing view of the valley. Constantly you get a really nice breeze (we didn't use the AC at all, it was the perfect temperature from the outside air) and you can hear all the birds and crickets through the air. We really felt like we're in nature, but with the luxury of having great facilities. The spa experience was also excellent. Massage was top notch, and it wasn't a typical massage with music in the background. On the head part of the massage, there were crystal rocks and incense that is meant for cleansing. They also have a special chakra massage thing on the menu, but we didn't have the time to try that one in the end. Apparently its done by a local healer. Also did a short trek crossing a river and around the rice fields with a local guide - everywhere we looked was just so beautiful. there were lots of other activities listed in the menu but again, didnt have the time to do everything. Now food. I honestly did have high expectations on food, but to my surprise, it was really amazing, and I would say is on par with some Michelin restaurants in terms of flavours and the love for detail. we ordered mainly the vegetarian dishes, and they're all amazing! The ingredients are very fresh, some coming from the garden in the resort (that you can see outside of the villa's balcony) the rest from the nearby organic farms. Very environmentally friendly place, where even the bill is printed on unbleached paper. no plastic in sight. water dispenser for guests. Also they're leading a local initiative for waste management in the region (kudos!) Spent most of our time chilling by the infinity pool overlooking the valleys, and the day beds with alot of zen buddha attributes around. Very quiet and peaceful. Loved that there were no music being played, so we can just breathe in the atmosphere of the magical valley. Service was really attentive and friendly. every villa is equipped with a phone, where all communications to the front desk (who is able to help with everything basically) are done through WhatsApp that is installed on that phone. very very clever & easy. THANK YOU SAMANVAYA for hosting us for 3 magical nights and we will be back again for sure! Tip: wake up for sunrise! The view was breathtaking and can't be described in words.

Hi thanks for your message. The executive villas all have air conditioning where the other villas do not. They are also bigger in size than the deluxe and superior. The superior rooms are all across the pool front so don't have that much privacy if that is what you are looking for. We have lots of pictures on here and also on our website.
