After a long closure due to Covid restrictions PL staff greeted us with a warm "Welcome back". Some renovations and updates have been done at the hotel bevor the re-opening and it seems things are back to the well known PL hospitality again. Good food was offered from the kitchen, lots of fruits and greens provided from the local surrounding gardens. We enjoyed again the beauty of Munduk village, the surrounding ricefields and mountains and from PL Sunset Bar spectacular sunsets over Bali's westcoast and further until Java's vulcanos. A warm "Thank you" to Puri Lumbung staff for nice hospitality and it was great to meet you all again !
This is a comfortable hotel with beautiful gardens and mountain views and its's located within a short walking distance to the few shops and eating places. We booked a deluxe villa with a balcony overlooking the mountains and you could even see the sea. The sunset was wonderful. The rooms are traditional balinese style and comfortable. No fans or aircon but a mosquito net and it was cool enough (we even needed an extra blanket on the first night). It doesn't have wifi (the restaurant does though) and no TV. We were fine with this and enjoyed the digital detox! The staff are super friendly and any request we had (eg making the water hotter for showers/bath; getting a lock on our door) they responded to (it was only the second month they had been open since COVID and apologised). The only thing we would have appreciated is a bit more diversity in the food menu, and the food generally was average - though the service was very good. It's a short walk to some other cafes though (where the food was excellent). Also, don't rely on the hotel map for walks to rice fields and waterfalls - it's a good sketch but we got lost (the idea is you employ a local guide) and google maps was better. We also thought the cost of drivers when booked through the hotel was a bit expensive. Finally, if you're going to do the hike around Lake Tamblingan (and I recommend it - it's not hard and you can do a short or longer walk) please pay the guides directly (and you're not permitted to go without a guide) when you arrive at the lake as it is not only cheaper (I think the hotel may take a commission) but more importantly some of the money goes towards the conservation of the site. We highly recommend Putu - she's so knowledgeable of all the plants, extremely warm and friendly and her English is good. The other guides there are also good I believe. …
In this place you can be like in the jungle, but in the good way. Therw is lot of different threes and flowers. The hotel area it self is very big. Stuff is helpful and friendly. This place is different experience.
Was stayin here for a night and was amazed by the hospitality of the staff. Our room overlooking a rice terrace which is wonderful, and the last surprise was the view from the restaurant, it was a total 10/10 for all of the aspect of this hotel! I would definitely comeback again if i had the chance
Our stay in January 2020, very nice hotel with beautiful scenery, service is good and front desk staff Eka very helpful. overall many staff in the hotel are quite friendly. The food in the restaurant is good with reasonable price. Thanks
The location is fantastic, magnificent views. This is a real nature experience. I had to get used to the noises. This time not noises from traffic or other guests, but the noises from nature. The climate in Munduk is very pleasant, the rooms do not have airco, but you won't need that. Food in Bali is great, but in this hotel I've had the best experiences. The breakfast is served and therefore very fresh, custom made.....much better than a buffet and the dinners were great too. Not only the local food was perfect but our kids are still talking about the fantastic beef burger. We did a hike together with Yuri to the waterfall. His English was very good, he explained a lot about the local fruit and farmers and he helped our youngest son climbing. We stayed here only for two nights and if I could plan our trip again I would definitely stay here for more nights.…
What a location! So nice. Peaceful. Idealich. The Bali of yesterday. But the decor and the comfort level are dated. Some love is long overdue. The bed. I had a room with two singles. Hard and uncomfortable. The towels, like pot scourers. The missive nets didn’t quite meet and I chased around the two beds to get all the holes plugged. The concept of sleeping in the Lumbung, which is an elevated platform means the bathroom is downstairs so any late night trips take in those skinny stairs. Did I say how beautiful the place is? The rooms look lovely. The restaurant was great, their local fare was delicious. Breakfast was included and functionary at best. The bread was good. The eggs, not so much. Would I stay there again? Not in a twin single room I wouldn’t. My son said the double was good. So best to ask for one of those. …
This is truly a hotel that you only see pictures and movies. Good food and the view, WOW, nice staff to. This part of Bali is recommended if you want to see waterfalls and walk in the jungles. It’s peaceful and good for you.
Nice sunset view, friendly staff. We made rice cake and it was amazing. Room look old, its fine. Breakfast was nice, they serve balinese breakfast and also dinner. Velue for money and we will back for next future
Peaceful location with easy access to the three waterfalls via a pathway / stairs leading from the rear of the property. It’s a circuit and there is a 700m stretch along the road on the way back but a couple of nice local places to stop and admire the view on route with a refreshing drink Friendly staff Twin rooms are a little small with no space between the beds
