Looking for a nights stopover between Breckenridge and Columbus, we choose Silver Heart as the best in the area with both reviews and price. The Beach house cottage is in the back corner of the property. It has chairs and a swing on the private porch, a nice living room with a decorated Christmas tree, and a full kitchen (including oven). The Keurig has assorted coffee and tea choices. The washer and dryer are full sized. The bedroom and bathroom clean and comfortable. Covid precautions in place at check in and sanitizer readily available. Highly recommend!

My Sweetheart and I stayed in the Legend of Asia room for my birthday. The house was decorated for Christmas with almost a feel of Magic in the air.
We went just a small joint over to Cafe Verona, during our dessert my Sweetheart sent a text message to the Inn Keeper requesting our fireplace to be going when we returned.
The fire was warm and glowing when we returned and remotely turned off at 11pm.
Do not miss the chance to stay here.

We stayed at Silver Heart as a getaway and just recharge and this is exactly what we got. It was very peaceful and we spent all day reading, relaxing, watching movies on free Netflix, drinking wine, and napping. Then in the evening we met up with friends in KC. In the morning we had a delicious homemade breakfast while seated in a tastefully decorated dining room.
We stayed in the Asia Suite and while we did not require an assessible room I was so impressed with the ADA accommodations in a house of this age, not often seen. Kudos. We would love to stay here again if we come back for another visit!!

Everything was excellent. We were greeted well. The room was excellent. The breakfast was well prepared. The bathroom was extremely beautiful, and spotless. My wife and I walked the garden area the second morning, and it was extremely pleasant. They have a library, sitting room, and well prepared dining room. You had their menu for breakfast, and it was as simple as a pudding the first day and berries and cream the second day for starters. he first day was egg quiche. The second day was French toast with blue berries. Of course, you had coffee, juices or teas. What was special for us was it was within walking and driving distance for the sites we wanted to see without being in the middle of downtown KC. We could walk to downtown in 20 minutes and see Truman's home. It was just a short distance to Kearny/Liberty, St. Joseph, and Atkinson, Kansas to see Jesse James Sites, Pony Express sites, and Amelia Earhart's home. We did the previous in one day easily. If you wanted to go downtown Kansas City, you could stick to the city streets and highways without getting on the super highways. As a side note, there were two booklets explaining the home and the people who built it, and lived there over the years. It was a really nice perspective. I know it is a petty thing, but we could have used a sitting chair in the room to sit and read.

We could not believe our good luck in finding Silver Heart Inn. Hosts Melanie and Terry were greta...cooked us a terrace breakfast...not talking about a few sticky buns and beverage. I am talking great Coffeys, raspberry parfait, and one of the best omelets I have ever tasted. Our room was warm and comfortable. Main house authentically furnished in keeping with 1850's home.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast were delightful and tasty. Melanie did a great job. They also did a fabulous job making us feel like part of their family and at home. We always enjoy staying at B & Bs while traveling when we can. We are from North Carolina and were meeting my cousin from Oklahoma in KC for a few days. While the location is not the best if you do not have a car to get into town, It was not bad at all to drive 20ish mins into town to eat and go shopping or to museums or whatever you fancy. Then the bonus of being able to return "home" to hang out and enjoy playing cards or putting together a puzzle, or playing games, or just talking in one of the living rooms. They also have a hidden oasis in a courtyard garden with a fountain that is well shaded and tranquil to hang out in. Hot tub on porch is nice too. Would highly recommend staying here if you have the chance. If you are flexible they have a murder mystery dinner I believe once a month that we were sad we missed by one night. Prices are very reasonable as well.

Very uncomfortable place. They called me to ask what my check in time was a few hours before I arrived. I knew they checked in between 3 and 7, but I couldn't give them an exact time, so I told them I would be there between 5 and 7. She seemed okay with that, but then I got an angry sounding phone call a few minutes later from someone else at the inn asking me to give a more exact time. I had no way to give an exact time, and I had already told them I would be there before their check in time ended, so I'm not sure how this angry call was justified.

When I got there I was shown to the room. It was tiny, but I knew it would be. I didn't know it would be 90 degrees in the room. The air conditioner was useless and I got to spend a nice night in a sweatbox. The air conditioner was set on high at 60 degrees the whole time. It did not help.

I had to get some grading done for my class. When I went to plug in my laptop I saw that they basically had a nice electrical fire waiting to happen. Extension cords and power strips were plugged into wall sockets that were definitely not designed to carry that sort of load. This place is in dire need of a good electrical upgrade.

I thought maybe I'd watch some TV and try to go to sleep. They had advertised that they had a DVD player and a Roku in the room. They did. Both were barely functioning. After struggling for an hour with a Roku player that kept freezing up and resetting, I gave up.

I won't concentrate on the food stains on the bed sheets or the obvious ant problem in the bathroom (along with nice ant traps). They just added to my unpleasurable stay. I also loved that there was practically no privacy in the bathroom except for some wooden shutters that sort of blocked people from seeing in.

Maybe this place only caters to the wedding crowds and saw me as an interloper and gave me the "cold shoulder" suite. I definitely would recommend avoiding this place if you are a solo traveler. I don't think they like us very much.

We stayed at this sweet B&B ❤️ - and enjoyed it very much. It’s a beautifully restored home with gorgeous gardens. Our room was quite spacious (Asian Room) loaded with comfortable amenities - most comfortable bed award! Our breakfast was delicious 😋 and they leave the dining room / kitchen open so you can enjoy a cuppa anything at any time. Fridge stocked with cold beverages, as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My wife and I decided on a last minute getaway and we chose the Silver Heart Inn. We were warmly greeted by Melanie when we came in and she showed us to our beautiful room. Rose petals on the bed, warm fireplace, and an amazingly comfortable poster bed with canopy. The house is absolutely gorgeous with lots of character. We went out to eat and when we came back we were greeted by the Innskeeper Vickie Lynn who was so sweet and helpful. She showed us to our room and lit the fireplace for us. The next morning we went downstairs for a delicious breakfast that was catered to our dietary restrictions. Then Vicki Lynn was kind enough to take pictures of us before we left. We will definitely be back!

The Silver Heart is a great location for visiting the Harry S Truman Library and Museum and the Truman National Historic Site. The owners, Charles and Amy, and their daughter, are gracious hosts They cooked a delicious breakfast on our first morning and provided us with a carry out breakfast the next day because we needed to leave early. Our room (the Margery Stone) was very spacious and spotless.

Thank you for choosing Silver Heart Inn. We love serving our guests and making each stay as amazing as possible. We also love the Margery Stone room. Charles and I stayed in that room over 5 years ago when we first stayed at the in and fell in love with it. Now as owners we love hearing that others love it as well. Please come see us again.
