My husband and I stayed at alamkulkul for 7 nights. Originally we were in the Alam room but found it small and on the 3rd floor (no elevator). We asked to be moved and we paid extra for a villa. We found the villa lovely. Bathroom was clean and spacious. The gardens are beautiful and well kept with two pools... More

We recently stayed for 9 nights at Alam Kulkul and found it a wonderful and relaxing resort. We stayed in the New Alam Rooms at the back of the resort near the Garden Pool. The rooms were spacious and newly renovated. Our rooms also had a nice balcony which allowed us to read and relax if there were no sun lounges... More

Stayed here for the past five nights and really enjoyed it! Staff were helpful, room was sizeable (albeit it was just me staying) and had a great shower and separate bath - which I've found is somewhat of a hard thing to come by in Bali. The gardens and rooms being set back from the road are silent, you wouldn't... More

Nice hotel in the first line of Kuta We stayed in Java villa which was definitely a right choice. The pool and surrounding area are rather small but enough to chill. The living room is just the right size not to mention the bathroom with separate toilette and impressive bath with tropical shower. Also there is a small pool with... More

The Alam KulKul is a lovely little oasis of calm - if you go you'll not want to leave the hotel .. We did on the odd occasion & wished we hadn't Legian, Seminyak etc just aren't nice places .. Dirty, dusty & plagued by rude drunk Aussies sadly We went to Bali for a family wedding at the Mandira... More

My husband myself and teenage daughter have returned from a 10 night stay at the Alam Kul Kul. If your looking for a quiet, peaceful ,relaxing traditional balinese hotel then this is the place for you. The staff were so helpful, friendly and always smiling. The pools were never crowded and temperature nice and refreshing. Close to shops and restaurants.... More

Stayed for 10 nights in a Pool Access Villa. The location is excellent, right across the road from a lovely, quiet part of the beach, close to excellent restaurants, markets and shops. As others have said, the grounds are beautifully kept, and the feeling of the old Bali exists, it is delightfully peaceful the moment you step onto the property.... More

The hotel's Alam rooms could do with an update or fix up. They look tired and patchy. The plumbing was problematic. Water fluctuated between burning hot and too cold every few seconds which made showering a challenge (it wasn't fixed despite attempts). However, staff were very friendly and polite. Hotel dinning was good and various discount voucher provided. Well positioned... More

The perfect spot to escape the screaming children on school holidays found at larger hotels in the area. Rooms were large clean and comfortable. Pools were small but never full. Only thing to improve our stay would be that the breakfast could grow to include muesli (or Bircher muesli) and a few more offerings!

We were placed in an older room, even after we requested the newer villa on 3 separate emails before we arrived. The room was tired dirty run down smelly and not at all pleasant. To begin with reception staff were quite reluctant to help, instead blaming it on the sales staff. However once the emails were produced, they offered to... More
